Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Tuesday, June 30, 2015

Hi there :-)
There is a sketch challenge over at Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge this week!

It looks pretty simple, right?
Just wait til you see what the design team made with this sketch!
It definitely made me want to join the fun;-D
And here is my take...

I love Paper Smooches, I totally would buy the whole site if I could...lol
Those patterned papers are from Studio Calico, I bought this cat bundle a few months ago. I pulled out the green, yellow, and pink from the piece on the left.

I was dying to use this cute little cat die!
I die cut him in watercolor paper, popped his eyes and nose out, colored him with black, then put the eyes and nose back in his face and colored them. I also colored about 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" square with Blushing Bride on the watercolor paper then die cut that cute kitty paw to match his cute pink nose.

This is Nebka, he was the model for this pretty kitty:-)
Isn't he pretty with his cute little pink nose!? He is the sweetest cat ever!

The sentiment was die cut with one of the new in-color, Mint Macaron. It was almost a perfect match to the green in the patterned paper! The mew is a part of the sentiment "I love mew" from the I knead you stamp set by MFT.

My notes...

Stamp: I Knead You (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Basic Gray, Cat Patterned Paper and Vellum Heart Die-Cut (Studio Calico)
Ink: Basic Black, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Mint Macaron,
Tool: Love Word Die, Cat Icons Die (Both Paper Smooches), Heat Tool, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

MFT Challenges

Sunday, June 28, 2015

Hi there!
Today's card was made for My Favorite Things Challenges!

I combined the sketch and color challenges!
And here is what I came up with...

I love cats, and I love this stamp set!
Simply adorable!!

I made my own patterned paper with one of the stamps from the I Knead You set. I did use my grid paper so they were kid of uniformed, but I wasn't paying too much attention so it is pretty random.
I heat embossed the word PURR on a 1/2" strip of vellum, and I'm loving it! I love cats' purr, it's so calming... (just me!? lol)
That cute paw print is the Cat Icons die set from Paper Smooches. I used the Stacked with Love DSP Stack, then layered it on the Basic Black cardstock to break down the white.

Oh I'm so silly... For some reason, I was thinking that black was one of the colors for the color challenge... That explains why I used the Typeset Specialty DSP...Ha Ha :-D
I also used the Maritime DSP, this pack has so many beautiful designs!

My notes...

Stamp: I Knead You (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, So Saffron, Pool Party, Watercolor Paper, Vellum, Typeset SDSP, Maritime DSP
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Tool: Die-namics I Knead You (My Favorite Things), Cat Icons Die (Paper Smooches), Heat Tool, Pool Party Stampin' Emboss Powder, Sewing machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Pin-Sight Challenge

Saturday, June 27, 2015

Hi there!
I have been busy playing along with all these challenges this week!
This month's inspirational photo is filled with pretty light colors!

June

Love the colors, love the circles!
And here is my take...

I packed a lot of elements from the photo into this little card!

Before I even had any idea on what to make, I was making that little camera! I embossed that camera on the Very Vanilla cardstock, cut off the excess outline to show the details better, then embossed Calypso Coral and Silver Foil Sheet to get those pieces to make one just like in the photo. Then I got the starburst wooden thing, rubbed it directly on the Encore Gold Ink Pad.

After heat embossing those little dots, I painted those circled randomly.
Do you see the Pool Party and So Saffron cardstock underneath everything? I made 2 triangles and overlaid each other just like those pillows in the inspirational picture. It still needed something so I decided to add a couple pieces of DSP.

My notes...

Stamp: Hello Gorgeous, Bold Blossoms (both Essentials by Ellen)
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Silver Foil Sheet, Watercolor Paper, I am Me DSP
Ink: Versamark, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Encore Gold Ink Pad
Tool: Heat Tool, Enchanted Gold Emboss Powder (Ranger), On Film Framelits Die Sewing Machine, Paint Brush

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 315

Friday, June 26, 2015

Hello there!
I have a super fun card that I made for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge today!

Isn't this just so much fun!?
And here is my card  ;-)

The blue and red stripes are so fun together!
That red and white striped paper is from the retired Christmas DSP stack.
The Tempting Turquoise fringe was made with the Lulu Fringe Cutaways from Winnie & Walter, fun!

I had some leftover paper straws from my baby shower 2 years ago, I thought it was more fun to use them than lollipop sticks.
I added the Stitched Rectangle Frame from MFT to make it like it's one of those fun photo booths that people have at their parties and weddings these days!

The banner is from the Big, the Bold, and Extra stamp set by Winnie & Walter. I stamped that sentiment from the Cheerful Critters on the inside of it, fits perfect, right!?
That cute star garland is from Reverse Confetti, I just thought it might be fun to add that. Then my banner looked a little lonely, so I punched out some stars using the Confetti Stars Punch, adhered a few of them on the banner.

My notes...

Stamp: Cheerful Critter, The Big, The bold, and Extra (Winnie & Walter)
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Brights Designer Paper Stack (Retired Patterns), Christmas DSP Stack (retired)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Tool: Mustache Framelits, Word Bubbles Framelits, Lulu Fringe and The Big, The Bold, and Extra Cutaways (both Winnie & Walter), Die-namics Stitched Rectangle Frames STAX (My Favorite Things), Star Garland Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Confetti Stars Punch

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Another AE card

Thursday, June 25, 2015

Hi my crafty friends!
I know... This is my third card for Avery Elle challenge...lol
But I just had to make this card, this is the design I had when I made my last card!

Here is my card :-)

Fun, isn't it!? ;-)
This die set from Avery Elle, Finished Frames, has these teeny tiny confetti pieces, and that's exactly what I used. I cranked the handle of my big shot 6 times to get every color of rainbow!

Since they're so small, what I did is, I cut my 1/4" tape into 2 vertical pieces, placed a bunch of confetti pieces on them, peeled off the backing of the tape, and separated them by cutting with scissors. That made the process a bit easier ;-)

My notes...

Stamp: Oh Happy Day (Avery Elle)
Paper: Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, White Glossy Cardstock (Ranger)
Ink: Versamark
Tool: Black Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Finished Frames Elle-ments Die (Avery Elle)

Thank you for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

AEI{heart}U Challenge

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

Hi there!
I am back with another card to enter in AEI{heart}U Challenge over at Avery Elle Blog!

I have already entered a card earlier this month, but I purchased this Avery Elle die set and got this idea with the rainbow theme!

This is actually not the die or the design I was going to use... I don't know why or how this happens to me! lol :-D

I wanted watercolor rainbow, and from there, my plan totally changed...
I splashed some gold ink all over after watercoloring, and die cut the sentiment, then die cut several more in the rainbow colors. I layered them slightly off set so you can see all the colors.

I am loving this layering-scrap-paper-style! It adds a little bit of colors and designs, and I especially like that oh-so-effortless look!
Right now, I am searching and trying my "signature look", and this just might be it... I have so many packs of DSP that I want to use up, and I really enjoy using my sewing machine!

My notes...

Paper: Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, Dots DSP
Ink: Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Encore Gold Ink Pad
Tool: Hello Die (Avery Elle), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Sparkle and Shine Challenge

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Hi there!
Today I have a card I made for Sparkle and Shine Challenge

Fun sketch, and the design team made beautiful cards!
And here is my take...

This is exactly where I wish to be right now...Ha Ha:-D

Those awesome bubbles are chain dies from Paper Smooches. I thought they were bubbles when I ordered, but the name is "Chains"...lol
I colored my little Newton with Smokey Slate, but now that I am looking at this photo, I could have colored him with Crumb Cake for light tan! His ears and nose were colored in Crisp Cantaloupe. I gave him a little yellow flower sequin and a tiny pearl inside of it. I guess this is his girlfriend!?

Lots of clear and blue sequins as more bubbles in the water ;-) Wherever she is, I really wish I were there with her!!

My notes...

Stamp: Newton's Summer Vacation
Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Pack, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Smokey Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana
Accessory: Pearls Basic Jewels, Pretty Pink Posh Sequins, Flower Sequins (Paper Sweeties)
Tool: Banners Framelits Die, Chains Die (Paper Smooches), Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Your Next Stamp Challenge

Monday, June 22, 2015

Happy Monday, my lovelies!
Hope you all had a nice father's day;-)
I just wanted to make a quick stop and share this card I made for Your Next Stamp Challenge

YNSSketch-16

YNS Color Challenge 16

I decided to play both of them together and here is what I made...

Isn't this fun!?
I wanted arrows, and was looking for DSP with arrows but they were not right. Then I found this grid paper and it was just perfect! I embossed the stitches where I wanted my arrows, can you see them?

Then I added those fun chevrons. I love that die, it's so much fun!
I picked Gumball Green for the base, and I really like that little bit of green peeking out! It looks so nice with the black and all the blues, doesn't it!?

My notes...

Paper: Basic Black, Gumball Green, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Typeset Specialty DSP
Tool: What's Up Punch, Chevron Border and Stitches Border Dies (Your Next Stamp), Die-namics Emmitt Alphabet and Numbers & Symbols (My Favorite Things), Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Gossip Column

Sunday, June 21, 2015

Hello there!
Today I am playing along with the fabulous Gossip Column with Taheerah Atchia over at Winnie & Walter!

A little confession...
Ever since I found this lovely lady in the blog land a few months ago, I am a HUGE fan of her! Her work is just fabulous, I don't know how else to describe it... My style has "evolved" (as my friend Nina said) the past few months because of my discovery of all these different manufactures other than Stampin' Up!, and I have seen her work everywhere! And she certainly has had a huge impact on my new style.

This challenge is something like that. Taheerah is a big fan of Jocelyn and she wants you to get inspirations from her work. I have never noticed Jocelyn's name before, so I went over to her blog to study her projects...oh my... she makes beautiful little creations! I now am a fan of hers as well...LOL

Anyway, enough chatting and let's get to my "Jocelyn" card ;-)

As Taheerah explained, Jocelyn's cards have a lot of white that are embossed. So that was the first thing I wanted to do.

What I noticed and loved about Jocelyn's work was, she has a lot of layers, layers of scraps kind of layers! And she secures them by sewing them! I have always loved stitches on cards, I was just too lazy to get my sewing machine out...lol But now I have a bigger desk (FINALLY!!) and a little more organized, my sewing machine is more easily accessible! So be prepared to see some stitches on my cards ;-)
On this card, I used the zig zag stitches to repeat the chevron stripes.

This card was really, really, REALLY fun to make!
I love the DSP I picked, and from there, everything just came to me:-)
I truly enjoy playing all sorts of challenges, it does nothing but inspires me to try something different. I got hooked to watercolor because I played a watercolor challenge at Newton's, I now am in love with using my sewing machine because of this challenge. I feel like I was sheltered, but am now finally growing up...LOL

My notes...

Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Silver Foil Sheet, I am Me DSP (Retired)
Accessory: Pretty Pink Posh Silver Star Sequins
Tool: Lucky Stars TIEF, On Film Framelits Die, What's Up Punch, The Big, The Bold and Friends Cutaways (Winnie & Walter), Star Garland Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Sewing machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Little Tangles Sketch Challenge

Saturday, June 20, 2015

Hi lovelies!
Before I start, if you're subscribed to receive my new posts in email and saw my double dare card, It wasn't meant for yesterday...so you will see it again...
I am so sorry!!

Now, today's card!

Their challenge does not require to use Neat and Tangled stuff, but they offer free digital images so that's what I used for now... I have several items in my shopping cart at their site, I am just waiting a little since I have been a bit crazy shopping online lately...lol

I had a total different design first, but when I was going through my stash of embellishments, I found these lovely pieces. They were given to me by my lovely friend Nina a few years ago, and they're so cute I just couldn't use them! lol I know, I'm weird like that...

She actually had Early Espresso Baker's Twin on that paper spool, but I replaced it with Pool Party Baker's Twin. The gold buttons are die cuts from My Favorite Things. I doubled the Dimensionals on the flower one. The little white flower was punched with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. I used the paper doily to give a softer look, then a gumdrop was added in the center.

The sentiment is one of the free digital images that Neat and Tangled offers. I printed on the Pool Party cardstock then fussy cut it, but the black ink looked so awkward with the soft colors, I tried covering it with the gold glitter pen.
What do you think?

My notes...

Stamp: Free Digital Image from Neat and Tangled
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Gold Foil Sheet, Etcetera DSP
Accessory: Pool Party Baker's Twine, Gold 1/8" Ribbon, Coral Glittered Gumdrop (Your Next Stamp), Paper Doily
Tool: Die-namics Vintage Buttons (My Favorite Things), Wink of Stella Gold Glitter Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Picture Perfect Challege

Thursday, June 18, 2015

Hi there!
Hope your week is going well!
Today I am sharing the card inspired by Paper Smooches SPARKS Picture Perfect Challenge

Aww, don't I wish I had a cool bedroom like this when I was growing up!
Here is my take...

The first thing that my eyes went to was the blue chevron stripes on the ottoman. I found this DSP from the I am Me pack. I liked that washed out look!
I embossed vellum for the very first time (I wanted the blue coming through the vellum), I had no idea it would destroy it!! I had to put pieces of scotch tape to keep it in one piece! lol

Since I had destroyed my vellum (Ha Ha), I decided to sew it on the base card so it wouldn't fall apart on me later! I repeated the chevron with my stitches.
The little bird house is from the same set, that is my house from the inspirational photo. Added a little heart with the accent color in the photo as well.

I thought I was done after adhering my lovely sentiment, but that little birdie was kind of staring at me so there she is...;-)
It is quite simple, but I am loving this card a lot!

My notes...

Stamp: Gently Seasoned Two (Paper Smooches)
Paper: Pool Party, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, I am Me DSP  (Retired)
Ink: Smokey Slate, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise,  Versamark
Tool: Hello Words Die (Paper Smooches), Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Heat Tool, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 314

Tuesday, June 16, 2015

Hi there, crafty friends!
I have a special card to share with you today.
One of the members of Pretty Pals has asked us if we had any get well cards in hands. It is for this 12 year old girl who is bravely fighting leukemia at St.Jude's Hospital. Many of us immediately agreed to send one to her.
I had to make one, and making a card for a pre-teen girl is so hard! My niece is 12 years old as well, and she is still innocent but wants to be treated as a grown up...
I got inspirations from Cupcake inspirations Challenge, the colors were perfect!

The pinks are sweet, but with the orange, it makes it not childish.
And here is my card.

I know I just used this stamp set, but isn't my little nurse perfect!?
She is prescribing this brave, strong girl some sparkles;-) We're never too young or too old for some sparkles, right!?

I stamped the images with the Blushing Bride Ink Pad, then watercolored them.

I used sweet and girly elements like the doily, scallop frame in Crumb Cake (it's so soft with light pink!), her new prescription sequins... but again, I couldn't go too sweet so I did some quantity control on them (LOL)
The sentiment is perfect for this amazing girl, don't you agree?

I really hope this will cheer her up even a little bit, she needs every little good thought to beat this cancer and get all better!

My notes...

Stamp: Get Well Soon (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Primerose Petal (Retired), Vellum, Watercolor Paper, Twitterpated DSP (Retired)
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pumpkin Pie, Primerose Petal,Basic Gray
Accessory: Tea Lace Paper Doily, Sequins (pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Die-namics Blue Print #15 and Cross Stitched Square STAX (My Favorite Things), You're Amazing Die (Simon Says Stamp), Paint Brush

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
