Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 400th Celebration

Friday, March 31, 2017

Hello lovelies, Happy Friday!
The celebration is still going on over at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog!
Today we're featuring 2 more sponsors, Sparkle N Sprinkle, and Newton's Nook Designs!

Birthdays are always fun!
But to make the party more exciting, you get to pick your favorite past challenge to combine with the birthday theme! I LOVE this idea!

So here is my pick of the past challenge for today's card...;-)

I LOVED this theme!
I even loved the card I made fro this challenge originally!
And I love today's card as well...;-)

I obviously LOVE Newton's Nook Designs, Jen's little critters are just so adorable!
And Newton is one lucky kitty, he travels all over the world!

But for today's card, I used this super cool pilot from the Winston Take Flight Set!
This image is just too cute, and oh, how perfect!
I stamped him with the Antique Linen Distressed Ink on Neenah white cardstock, colored with colored pencils, and die cut with the coordinating die. I added white lines all over his fun, poppy plane with the white gel pen. I also drew the stitches around the sentiment with the gel pen.

Of course I had to make him "fly" around the world! My lovely earth was die cut from 2 different patterned papers, and I had to fussy cut it to circle because none of the circle dies were the right size! {Boo! LOL} The sentiment was die cut from Poppy Parade and Pool Party cardstock, stacked them on each other, popped on with foam tape, then I drew little stars on it with gold gel pen.
Hope this card inspired you to pick your favorite past CIC challenge and play along!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Make sure you head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog to link up your beautiful creation for a chance to win one of the fabulous prizes!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 400th Celebration

Thursday, March 30, 2017

Hello my lovelies!
We are celebrating this big accomplish all week, and we have a gorgeous lineup of sponsors! So make sure you link up your beautiful creation for a chance to win a fabulous prize! Woot Woot!
And you know what else? This is my 400th post on my blog also! When I realized it, I was super excited!!! :-D

Today, we are featuring 2 of the sponsors, Kitty Bee Designs and Aliciabel!
I am joining with this beautiful digi stamp from Aliciabel ;-)

How perfect is this pretty Alice holding a slice of cake!!?
It is called Alice and the Cake.
And as soon as I spotted this image, I knew exactly which past challenge to use ;-)

This color combo is one of my favorites, and I really wanted to use it.
So when I saw the Alice image, I was so excited!!! And again, she's even holding a piece of cake in her hand!!!

I printed Alice on Neenah white cardstock, colored with colored pencils, and fussy cut. It took me a long time to color her hair with a few shades of yellow and a few shades of orange, but it was fun and I am happy with how it turned out! Since I printed the image a bit too big (she is almost 6" long!), I really couldn't add too much on this card. But isn't this blue paper with vintage rose just perfect!? I mounted the panel on another patterned paper, which has various widths and colors of stripes, and somehow I managed to have red on both sides!  A tiny, ivory, vintage rose embellishment was the perfect finishing touch ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

Hello my lovelies!
I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today!
Temperature is finally getting warmer and it feels more like spring outside, so I wanted to make a pretty, springy card!

Lots and lots of pretty spring colors!

This gorgeous flower wreath from the Happy Little Thoughts set was heat embossed with pastel yellow, water colored, and die cut with the coordinating die
The adorable bunny from the Cottage Garden was heat embossed with white, water colored the negative parts like her ear, eye, flower, and the outline. She was also die cut with the coordinating die. Isn't she just lovely sitting inside the flower wreath!?

The front panel was die cut with the background die from Crumb Cake cardstock and mounted on my Crumb Cake Base. I did like the tone-on-tone look but I decided to add several leaves that were die cut from the patterned paper to repeat the green and the polka dots. I sewed vellum with polka dots, yellow vellum, and peach patterned paper with also polka dots for my pretty wreath and bunny to lay on. Instead of my usual sequins, I added a snippet of gold thread for a little bit of sparkle ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 400th Celebration

Monday, March 27, 2017

Hello there, my lovelies!
Today we are featuring one of our fabulous sponsors STAMPlorations!

To play along this week, you must combine the birthday theme with one of the past challenges! How fun!!!

For today's card, this pretty color combo was my pick!
Here is my take...;-)

I might sound like a broken record, but STAMPlorations is one of my favorite stamp companies, especially because of their mixed media style is simply awesome! AND the owner, Shery Russ, is one of the sweetest people ever!

I just got this adorable bird stamp set called, Fowl Play :-)
He was heat embossed with white on watercolor paper, water colored with Calypso Coral, except for his little eye with Pool Party, then fussy cut. The cute sentiment was also heat embossed with white after die cutting the stitched speech bubble from vellum.

I borrowed the happy birthday sentiment from another stamp set and heat embossed it with white on the Pool Party Cardstock. I stamped a couple of images from the Mixed Media Elements stamp set (I LOVE this stamp set!) with white ink, which is probably my favorite part of this card! {giggle} I created a stencil by die cutting a little cloud so I could make some clouds with embossing paste, and I die cut those cute outlined clouds also.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
I'll be back on Thursday again, but the celebration goes on everyday so make sure you visit the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 400th Celebration

Sunday, March 26, 2017

Hello there, my lovelies!
We are celebrating our 400th challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
I have been on this fabulous team for almost 2 years now, and I just LOVE being a part of this awesome challenge!

We have an incredible line-up of sponsors to help us celebrate all week, so very exciting!!! I really hope you join us in this fun!!!

Happy Birthday to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
Running a challenge site is a lot of work, and to be loved for this long is simply amazing!
So what else would be more appropriate than this theme!? But wait! to make things even more fun, you need to pick your favorite past challenge theme/colors and combine with the birthday theme!

Here is my first card of the week...;-)

Isn't this just perfect for this big celebration!!? :-D

This beautiful color combo totally inspired me!
Mint and white are so refreshing and springy, and the gold adds festivity!

I started with trimming down the vellum with wide stripes to 4" x 5-1/2" so the mint base peeks a bit on both sides. I then heat embossed my 3 flowers with white and the center with gold on vellum, and die cut them with the coordinating die. I also die cut 3 more flowers from the mint cardstock and popped the vellum flowers on them. The little leaves were also heat embossed with gold on vellum and die cut. Different leaves and the sentiment were die cut from the gold foil sheet to add a different texture.

I pleated a piece of crepe paper and sewed it with gold thread, then every piece was assembled. Of course, I had to add sequins also ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Make sure you head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and join us in this all-week-long, super fun celebrations! We will also shine a spotlight on different sponsor everyday to thank them!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 4

Thursday, March 16, 2017

Hello lovelies!
Today is the final day of the Newton's Nook Designs March Release reveal!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase tomorrow Friday the 17th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
We are showcasing the "Newton's Rainy Day" set along with the coordinating die set!

Well!!?
Did we save the best for the last!!?
I like rain:-) The sound of pouring, heavy rain is so calming:-)
I don't know if that is why, but I just LOVE any images with umbrellas!
Even if that's not it, this one is simply adorable, how can you not love it!!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Rainy Day Set - Naki Rager

No-line watercolor was just perfect for this soft, sweet image!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Rainy Day Set - Naki Rager

I stamped 3 of this image with Antique Linen Distressed Ink on watercolor paper and took them with me on planes along with my Zig Clean Color Brush set. Now, I get horrible motion sickness especially planes and boats, but I sure am so glad I had this cutie to pass time with!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Rainy Day Set - Naki Rager

When I got home, I finished the background by stamping a bunch of raindrop image, and one of the sentiment (half of it anyway) all over the watercolor panel. But first, I die cut the cute critters under the umbrella shape with the coordinating die from white cardstock to cover my already colored-in image. Once I was happy with it, I randomly die cut stitched lines on the panel. Added washi tape with silver dots, which reminds me of raindrops, and several clear droplets that also look like raindrops ;-)

Here's the inside of the card, with the whole sentiment and the cute little frog ;-) The sentiment was stamped with Smoky Slate ink, my little froggy was stamped with Gumball Green ink on watercolor paper, colored, and die cut. Isn't her just so cute!!?

Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 3

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

Hello there lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs March Release Reveal!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 17th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 3 and we are showcasing this amazing, gorgeous set "Cottage Garden" along with the coordinating die set!

Oh my goodness!
Isn't this just so very beautiful!!?
As soon as I saw this set, a few designs popped in my head immediately!

Alright, here's one...:-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cottage Garden Set - Naki Rager

First of all, I apologize for my photo quality lately...
Ever since I switched my phone, I can't figure out how to take clear photos! Ugh!

Anyway, my first design was to emboss these gorgeous images in many different colors! Well, not as many as I planned...{LOL} My girls have these pajamas that have solid animal images in mint, coral, and gray. This stamp set totally reminded me of them and that's what I wanted to recreate, but because I decided to use kraft for my front panel, the whole design had to change ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cottage Garden Set - Naki Rager

Here's one of the reasons why I love photopolymer stamps...
I bent the flower image as I was placing it on my clear block to get this look ;-)
The sentiment was heat embossed separately on each side with the Weathered White Emboss Powder, love the distressed look with the Scandinavian-ish images!
I thought framing this beauty was the best way to showcase it, and first I grabbed green to add one more color, but I remembered this old patterned paper pack from Stampin' Up! that had the same coral color, and wow! the patterns on this one were just perfect!
No embellishments were needed on this rustic, homey design!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 2

Hi there lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs March Release Blog Hop!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 17th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 2, and we are showcasing this super sweet set "Lovable Laundry" along with the coordinating die set!

Ohhhh my goodness!!!
Isn't this the sweetest little set ever!!?

Okay, here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Lovable Laundry Set - Naki Rager

Oh my goodness!
Isn't this the sweetest little thing ever!!? Seriously!!!

Newton's Nook Designs Lovable Laundry Set - Naki Rager

So as usual, these adorable little onesies were heat embossed on watercolor paper, water colored, then die cut with the coordinating die. I LOVE the little stitches that this die gives on the trims of the onesies! How clever is this!!? I gave a tutu to the pink onesie, I am obsessed with little tutus for my girls, they have so many!!! {giggle}

Newton's Nook Designs Lovable Laundry Set - Naki Rager

Can you see that the cloud paper looks like a wallpaper, and the distressed wood chevron paper looks like flooring in a nursery!? I made those little hangers out of paperclips, and hang them on a snippet of jude twine. Since there are so many patterns on this card, I only added little banners and that sweet sentiment that was heat embossed on vellum.
