Sketch For You To Try

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

Hi there!
I hope everyone had wonderful holidays! I certainly did, watching my kids open the gifts made me so happy :-)
Anyway, I have a card for the Sketch For You To Try Challenge over at Reverse Confetti, which is closing today!

SFYTT31_DEC15

Here is my take ;-)

A thank you card with some Christmas colors!

I die cut the Stars Pretty Panel in Pool Party, then cut that patterned paper to about 2-1/2" x 2-1/8", mounted the stars panel on it and trimmed the corners. I picked up the black from the patterned paper for the font. I die cut 3 of them and layered them for some dimension.

I first picked the red x white striped paper and the gold foil, then used the other side of the patterned paper for the pinking edge circle but it kind of disappeared in the white base, so I flipped it over. I layered the white circle and the sentiment but it was missing something! So I stamped and die cut those beautiful leaves :-)

This card was made pretty quickly, and I love how it turned out!

My notes...

Stamp: Love Blooms (Reverse Confetti)
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Basic Black, Gold Foil Sheet, Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Ink: Gumball Green
Tool: Scallop Border Punch, Stars Pretty Panels, Love Blooms, and Fancy Words Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Die-namics Pinking Edge Circle and Zig Zag Circle STAX (My Favorite Things)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Pin-Sights Challenge

Friday, December 25, 2015

Hello there!
It is Christmas today, and I have my last Christmas card to share!
This was inspired by the Pin-Sights Challenge over at Ellen Hutson.

F9d078f9e3952477bb96f030c26ce707

These photos captured the true beauty of winter and holidays, just so pretty!
Here is my take...

I was drawn to the icy blue and sparkly snow/ice in the photos, and that is how this card was designed.

I water colored my background with Soft Sky on watercolor paper, then die cut the sentiments. I die cut 2 more each to layer.

I got this impression of warm home in cold winter from the photos, but still kept the cool colors. I LOVE the Home and Heath die set, just so lovely!

I mounted my winter scenery on the white striped vellum. I love the diagonal stripes, they remind me of candy canes!

My notes...

Paper: Soft Sky, Watercolor Paper, Shimmery Silver Cardstock, Sheer Basics Vellum Patterned Paper Collection (Papertrey Ink), Yellow Vellum (Studio Calico)
Ink: Soft Sky
Accessory: Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Essentials by Ellen Home and Heath, Brushstroke Peace, love, Joy Designer Dies (Ellen Hutson), Stitched Hillside Lawn Cut (lawn Fawn)

Thank you so  much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Have wonderful holidays, my friends!

Lawnscaping Challenge

Thursday, December 24, 2015

Hello lovelies!
It's Christmas eve today already! I still have a lot of presents to wrap...
I am playing along with the Lawnscaping Challenge, the theme was perfect!

I had wanted to make this card and finally did!
Here it is...

This stamp set is SO CUTE!!!
I am a huge Shaun the Sheep fan, so anything sheep is irresistible!
besides, look at the sentiment...:-D

I stamped this cute woolly couple with Memento Ink, then colored their skin with the gray Copic marker. They look so happy, make me smile! :-)

I stamped the mistletoe image 3 times then layered them using different thickness of foam tape. Then got a pretty long piece of ribbon and made a small bow, and let the rest hang.

"is ewe" was a bit shadowed by the sheep couple so I added that tiny heart from another stamp set. most Lawn Fawn stamp sets have cute tiny hearts, I love them!

My notes...

Stamp: Baaah Humbug, Feel Better (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: Whisper White, Gumball Green, Gold Soiree SDSP
Ink: Gumball Green, Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Copic Marker, Wink of Stella Gold Glitter Pen
Accessory: 1/8" Real Red Ribbon
Tool: Heat Tool, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Baaah Humbug Lawn cut (Lawn Fawn), Die-namics Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle STAX (My Favorite Things)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

AEI{heart}U Challenge

Wednesday, December 23, 2015

Hi there, crafty friends!
I have another Christmas card to share today :-)
This was inspired by the AEI{heart}U Challenge over at Avery Elle.

Challenge 31

I know, so fun!
Here is my card...

This card is so front heavy, it wouldn't stand alone...lol :-P

I heat embossed this gorgeous wreath in gold then die cut.
I picked the shimmery red cardstock, vellum, gold foil sheet, and Metallic Gold Thread to go with but I got stuck there!
This card sat on my desk unloved for a few days, then I really wanted to finish it so went through my embellishments, and there she was, my lovely deer from Maya Road! I dressed her up with a bow, mounted her slightly off centered so I could add some metallic stars next to her cute little head.

It just needed a little more color so those tiny red sequins were added on the wreath.
I love how this card turned out! Red is not my go-to color, but it's so Christmas, and it looks so festive with gold :-)

My notes...

Stamp: Winter Wreath (Avery Elle)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Gold Foil Sheet, Red Shimmery Cardstock, Sheer Basics Vellum Patterned Paper Collection (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Versamark
Accessory: 1/8" Real Red Ribbon, Metallic Gold Thread, 10mm Star Sequins, 4mm Raspberry Sequins, 4mm Gold Star Sequins Pretty Pink Posh), Oh Deer Resin Charms Ivory (Maya Road)
Tool: Heat Tool, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Winter Wreath Elle-ments Die (Avery Elle), Die-namics Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX (My Favorite Things)

Thank you so much for stopping!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Mixed Media Card Challenge

Saturday, December 19, 2015

Hi there, crafty friends!
I still am not in the holiday mood, and it's less than a week away!
I have another Christmas card I made for the Mixed Media Card Challenge though.

Such a perfect theme for this month!

And guess what!?
This was totally unplanned but my sketch happened to fit Freshly Made Sketches! HA! Now how awesome is that...!?

Here is my card...

I just realized something...
I always use vellum on my cards and when it was their optional element, I didn't use one... What's up with that!? LOL

As soon as I saw this month's theme, I knew I was using these beautiful wreath dies with my handsome stag! I die cut 4 of him, 1 in gold, 3 in Crumb Cake. Doesn't he look fancy with his bow tie!?

I'm pretty sure a lot of you would agree, but I love the $1 shelves at Target! I found these cute bows, and it was just the right size for the deer!

Here is another item from the $1 shelf at Target, the wooden sentiment! They're actually tags, but I saw them as sentiment on my cards...;-)
I mounted it on this pleated ribbon then brushed my fancy gold glitter pen on it.

Let me talk about the background.
I patted Versamark over this forest stencil from Winnie and Walter on watercolor paper, then heat embossed with white. I then brushed over the trees with watered down Crumb Cake Ink, water colored between them with Soft Sky. It's really too bad that I covered up most of it, because it came out beautiful!

I placed this beautiful window sheet with felt design on my Gumball Green base. It's from the SU Holiday Catty a few years back... I know, I was hoarding my DSPs all these years and now trying to use them...*hee hee*

My notes...

Paper: Gumball Green, Crumb Cake, Gold Foil Sheet, Mocha Morning SDSP, Watercolor Paper, Core'dinations Vintage Collection
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Sky, Versamark
Accessory: Real Red Waven Satin Ribbon, Mini Bows and Merry Christmas Tag (Target)
Tool: Heat Tool, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Scenery: Into The Woods Creative Screening (Winnie and Walter), In Blooms: Paulina's Greenery Cutaway (Winnie and Walter), Maggie Holmes Open Book Die (Crate Paper), Paint Brush

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Purrfect Blend

Wednesday, December 16, 2015

Hello, craft and caffeine addicts!
Here is my card #3 for the Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!
I know! I am very much enjoying this!

HolidayCoffeeLoversBH_Logo

Here it is...

Ahh, can we get romantic while sipping some coffee with the love of your life!?
I think so;-)

I love coffee, I am an addict...
I am also a crazy cat lady.
So this stamp set couldn't make me any happier...LOL
I water colored him and the espresso machine. The steel parts were colored with the silver glitter pen. The glossy accent was applied on the espresso but can't really see in this photo... I think I adjusted the brightness too much...*oops*

The sentiments in this set are all so cute, but this one has to be my favorite!
The whole design is based on this sentiment.
I die cut the heart in some scrap then sponged on Whisper White cardstock. Yes, I made a little mess...:-( The sentiment and steam were heat embossed with white, then some Perfect Pearls was rubbed on.

I sewed the Whisper White cardstock on vellum, then distressed the edges a little.
I kept the whole thing pretty simple, thought it was sweet enough ;-)

It's a little early but I think this will be my Valentine's day card for my hubby ;-)

My notes...

Stamp: Newton Loves Coffee (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Silver Fancy Foil Vellum, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Basic Gray, Early Espresso, Wink of Stella Gold and Silver Glitter Pens, Versamark
Accessory: Sparkling Clear Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh), Glossy Accent (Ranger)
Tool: Heat Tool, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Perfect Pearls, Hearts Collection Framelits Die, Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Another Cup of Coffee

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Hello there!
I am here with my card #2 for the Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

HolidayCoffeeLoversBH_Logo

Here it is...

A hot cup of caffeine on a cold day tastes so good, doesn't it?

This super cute stamp set is from Waffle Flower.
The sentiment was heat embossed with white, then some Perfect Perals was rubbed on. Doesn't it look like real steam coming out of the hot coffee!?

I gave that peaceful face and rossie cheeks on the cup, so cute!
That beautiful wreath was placed under the circle, I just wanted something peeking out.

I sprinkled some clear sequins and it is done!
I love the warm colors on cool colors with those icy sequins :-)

My notes...

Stamp: Warm Wishes (Waffle Flower)
Paper: Whisper White, Mint Macaron, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Versamark, Copic Markers

2015 Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Monday, December 14, 2015

Hello lovelies!
Hope you all had a nice weekend! I helped my in-law with Christmas cookies, gotta keep grandma's recipe passing on!
anyway, I made a card for the Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

HolidayCoffeeLoversBH_Logo

I've gotten a few cup stamps just for this challenge!
Well, and they're all cute...;-)
Here is my card #1!

Of course I had to use brown for my coffee.
I paired it with my favorite Pool Party and white for icy holiday look ;-)
The striped vellum reminds me of candy canes, and snow!

This cute cup is from Studio Calico.
It actually has a sentiment inside the cup but I did not ink up that part.
Coffee was colored with my Copic marker.
That awesome sentiment is also from Studio Calico, isn't the font just gorgeous!? I brushed my trusty glitter pen on it.

So these snowflake trinkets were from the SU Holiday catty last year, and this is the first one I've used...LOL I am really bad with embellishments!
This beauty is dangling on the Pool Party Twine, love it!

That brown patterned paper is from the Sweater Weather DSP pack.
I thought the herringbone pattern was very winter, and of course it's the color of coffee, perfect!

My notes...

Stamp: Tea Time (Studio Calico)
Paper: Pool Party, Whisper White, Sweater Weather DSP, Typeset SDSP, Designed Vellum (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Copic Marker, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen
Accessory: Pool Party Baker's Twine, Snowflake Trinkets
Tool: Die-namics Zig Zag Rectangle STAX (My Favorite Things), Hello Die (Studio Calico)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 340

Sunday, December 13, 2015

Hi there!
Welcome to another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge, the last one of the year! Since we're taking a break until the new year starts, this challenge will run for 3 weeks. So that's plenty of time for you to grab your stamps and get some ink on them!

This week's sponsor is Stamp and Create!

I LOVE this color combo!
So bright and cheerful!!
Here is my take...

I wanted to keep it super bright and crisp by using a lot of white, and a CAS design on this card!

I used the Holiday Hugs stamp set from WPlus9, isn't it just so sweet and darling!?
So I am a Copic beginner, it is a lot more difficult than coloring with water based markers! Plus all I have is 14 basic colors so I really can't do that fancy shadowing stuff either... But I do love them, and hope to get better eventually...;-)

Do you like her polka dot leggings!? I used the tip of the marker to create them...cute, right!?

The sentiment is from the same set, it was heat embossed with white on vellum. I added that snippet of red ribbon underneath for more color, and make the white sentiment more visible. Those tiny sequins add some more color and sparkle also ;-) I just love sequins...*sigh*

My notes...

Stamp: Holiday Hugs (WPlus9)
Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Irresistibly Yours SDSP, Subtles DSP Stack (Retired Patterns), Vellum
Ink: Versamark, Smoky Slate, Blush Blossoms, Copic Markers
Accessory: Real Red Waven Satin Ribbon, 4mm Marshmallow and Raspberry Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Heat Tool, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Chalk Talk Framelits Die, Die-namics Zig Zag Stitched Oval STAX

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's all head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the sweeties created!
