Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 349

Sunday, February 28, 2016

Happy Sunday, Lovelies!
Are you ready for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!?
This week's sponsor is Alicia Bel ;-)

What a fun theme!
Here is my royal card...;-)

Tell me what girl doesn't ever dream to a princess!?

The sponsor generously let us each pick our own princess, thank you so much!
Of course I picked Snow White! My baby girl has very fair skin and dark hair just like her, and she was dressed as Snow White for Halloween too!

So I've mentioned about my printer in the past...
Well, I now can print on watercolor paper with this weird trick that I don't even know what made me do it in the first place...sure am glad I did though! So this beautiful princess was colored with the Kuretake Watecolor Brush set, except for her skirt.

I was browsing the A Day for Daisies site one night now that I can print on watercolor paper, and found this gorgeous castle image! I immediately bought it and the next day, it was printed and colored, and stood behind my princess. I love it so much! A princess and a castle...*Big Heart*

My notes...

Stamp: Snow White (Alicia Bel), Where Dreams Come True (A Day for Daisies), Alphabet Rotate Stamp (SU)
Paper: Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, Watercolor Paper, Vellum, Silver Foil Sheet
Ink: Daffodil Delight Stampin' Marker, Kuretake Watercolor Brush Set, Versamark
Tool: Heat Tool, Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, Essentials by Ellen Designer Die Merry and Bright (Ellen Hutson), Elle-ments Finished Frames Die (Avery Elle)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's heat over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and check out what the other princesses are up to!

Pals Paper Art Challenge 289

Friday, February 26, 2016

Hello my crafty friends!
I am playing along with the Pals Paper Art Challenge today!
I am trying to give more love to my Stampin' Up! products, and as a member of the Pretty Pals, the PPA is a perfect place to do just that!

Pals Paper Arts PPA289

I must say, Ms. Lynn's color choice gave me a very difficult time coming up with a design! But here it is...;-)

Welcome to my Japanese tea ceremony!
I remember going to tea ceremonies with my mom and grandma when I was a kid.
I can't remember if they dressed me in kimono though... It's a very uptight event and as a child, I did not enjoy much...*LOL*

I was dying to play with the Cups and Kettle Framelits Set!
I actually heat embossed the stacked cups image from the matching stamp set, A Nice Cuppa, but I didn't like the Blushing Bride Emboss Powder on the Pear Pizzazz cardstock...
So I was staring at my pretty kettle, decided to add vellum on top, and the Botanical Flower design on the vellum gave me the idea of flowers coming out of the kettle.

I wasn't trying, but those flowers look like cherry blossoms, and my kettle looks like a traditional Japanese iron kettle, and even my watercolored background looks like I spilled some green tea! It brought back those memories from my childhood...love it!

My notes...

Stamp: A Nice Cuppa
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Night of Navy, Watercolor Paper, Botanical Garden Vellum Pack (SAB), Twitterpated DSP
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Night of Navy
Accessory: Subtles Candy Dots
Tool: Cups and Kettle Framelits Die, Bird Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Die-namics Zig Zag Rectangles STAX (My Favorite Things)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Inky Paws Challenge

Thursday, February 25, 2016

Hello lovelies!
I am playing along with one of my favorite challenges, Inky Paws Challenge over at Newton's Nook Designs :-)
They have a color challenge for you this month!

Aren't these colors very pretty!?
So bright, so clean, so fun!
Here is my take...;-)

The photo gave me a French country feel, which to me is bright and clean but rustic.

This pretty kitty is from their February release "Newton Unwinds".
Just like last month, I HAD to have this stamp set along with the matching die set as as soon as they became available!

I stamped this cutie with Smoky Slate then carefully went over the lines with my small paint brush with water. The ball of yarn was colored with Pear Pizzazz.

My latest favorite is this Sketch Heart from Simon Says Stamp. I actually got it months ago and kind of forgot about it...*Ha Ha*

The background was dry embossed, Versamark was lightly padded on, then heat embossed with Pool Party.
The sentiment die comes with the Newton Unwinds Die set. I am a sentiment die addict, of course the stamp set is super adorable but because of that "meow", I had to order right away! *LOL*

My notes...

Stamp: Newton Unwinds (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Pool Party, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Watercolor Paper, Typeset SDSP
Ink: Smoky Slate, Pear Pizzazz, Versamark
Tool: Heat Tool, Pool Party Stampin' Emboss Powder, Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Newton Unwinds Die (Newton's Nook Designs), Sketch Heart (Simon Says Stamp)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 348

Sunday, February 21, 2016

Hi lovelies, Happy Sunday ;-)
It is time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Newton's Nook Designs!

Such a pretty color combo!
Here is my card...

I absolutely LOVE these colors!
So fresh and crisp, just so pretty!!

These beautiful love birds are from one of the NND January release "Darling Duos". I ordered this set as soon as they became available last month!
I mean, look at them! SO.PRETTY.!!!!!
I water colored this lovely couple with Gumball Green and Soft Sky, then fussy cut the image. I also water colored some scrap with Gumball Green then die cut the sentiment.

I punched a couple of branches in the Gumball Green cardstock with the Bird Builder Punch, then just tucked them underneath the love birds.

I just got a pack of Linen Cardstock, it's so beautiful!
I used the Distressed Ink with just a little bit of water, I love how the grains are shown!
All it needed was some sequins, LOVE IT!!!

My notes....

Stamp: Darling Duos (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Soft Sky, Gumball Green, Watercolor Paper, Linen Cardstock, Sheer Basics Vellum Patterned Paper Collection (Papertrey Ink)

Accessory: Green Sequins (Studio Calico)

Pals Paper Art Challenge 288

Saturday, February 20, 2016

Hi there, happy Saturday!
I have to run to the dentist office then take care of some stuff for my son's birthday party, then grocery shopping... I hope your Saturday is more fun than mine! LOL
So this is a quick stop to share this card I made for the Pals Paper Art Challenge!

PPA-288-Feb18

They have a fun sketch for you to play with this week!
Here is my take...

I decided to play along with PPA only because I wanted to color this cute chubby chick! He is SO.CUTE.!!! It is from the Honeycomb Happiness set, one of the Sale-A-bration freebies!

I stamped him with the Daffodil Delight ink then carefully water colored him. I did go over some of the lines with the orange watercolor brush. I used the journaling pen for his twinkly eyes, eeeek, so cute!!!

I water colored the grass with Gumball Green, die cut it with the Grass Border Die, then tore the bottom, then went over that part with very watered down Daffodil Delight ink.
The background was heat embossed with the Mini Hexagon background Stamp in Smoky Slate then die cut with the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle.

That lovely heart behind my chunky chick is called Sketched Heart from Simon Says Stamp, I love it! :-D

My notes...

Stamp: Honeycomb Happiness (SAB), Mini Hexagon Background (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Soft Sky, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Orange Kuretake Watercolor Brush, Journaling Pen, Versamark, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen
Tool: Heat Tool, Smoky Slate Stampin' Emboss Powder, Grass Border Lawn Cut (lawn Fawn), Sketched Heart Die (Simon Says Stamp), Fancy Words Confetti Cut (Reverse Confetti), Die-namics Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle STAX (My Favorite Things)

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 347

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Hello lovelies, Happy Valentine's day!
It's time for a new Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is STAMPlorations!

Perfect theme for today! :-)
My card was totally inspired by these lovely cupcakes!
Here is my take!

If you follow my blog (thank you!), you know that I LOVE mixed media!
STAMPlorations is a perfect place to get fabulous mixed media supplies!

This is one of my favorite challenges!
Since this challenge is run by the owner of STAMPlorations, Shery, I am linking up to this as well! I actually made this card in January, before this month's challenge started (obviously...) so I really didn't plan on playing! I love happy accidents ;-)

Shery generously sent me the Sentiment Builder: Love Stamp set and the Heart All Over  Stencil for this challenge, thank you so much! I was so very excited, I started working on my  card right away!

First I heat embossed the block of sentiments on torn vellum. Then heat embossed the LOVE sentiment with gold and Cherry Cobbler then fussy cut them.

I sponged the Cherry Cobbler Ink over the stencil, isn't it just lovely!?
I was thinking about heat embossing some stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge over the hearts but totally forgot to... When I remembered, it was too late...*BOO!*
I layered my vellum sentiments on a paper heart doily, punched out my heart in the red Core'dinations Cardstock and sanded it, and got my arrow from Target $1 shelf.

I played around with my placements, when I was finally happy with it, I looked through my stash of embellishments and got the photo frame, the vintage rose, and the heart that came with the arrow.
Since everything I had was all so sweet, I wanted to tone it down just a bit by adding the black washi tape on the side.
I love how this turned out, I think it's sweet and edgy at the same time!

My notes...

Stamp: Sentiment Builder: Love (STAMPlorations)
Paper: Whisper White, Vellum, ColorCore Cardstock (Core'dinations)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Accessory: Heart Paper Doily, Washi Tape (Stampin' Up), Vintage Rose (Tim Holtz Idea-ology), Mini Wooden Photo Frame (Maya Road), Wooden Arrow and Heart (Target)
Tool: Heat Tool, Black, Gold, and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Emboss Powder, Sweetheart Punch (Stampin' Up!), Hearts All Over ARTplorations Stencil (STAMPlorations), Sponge

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and see what the other sweeties have created with love! Don't forget to check out the Mixed Media Card Challenge as well!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 346

Sunday, February 7, 2016

Hello lovelies :-)
It's Sunday again and time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is The Paper Shelter!

And we have another lovely color combo for you!
Isn't it just dazzling and so yummy!?
Here is my card ;-)

Isn't this just cute!?
I'll be honest with you, I struggled to use the colors...but love how it turned out!

The sponsor generously provided us a couple of digi images to work with, thank you! And I picked this cutest dragon! I colored her with my new find, silver colored pencil! It came with a gold pencil, which was used to color the little star friend, and they're actually pretty shimmery! Her tummy was colored with the Pale Pink Kuretake Watercolor Brush, and I gave her a pedi and mani with the Strawberry Slush Stampin' Marker! Since I made this dragon a girl, I also gave her a little flower on her head, and matching tutu! Isn't she just darling!? I fussy cut her, and mounted on the big pink star, so cute!

So I decided to use a lot of stars on this card since this cute dragon came with 3 little star friends, also she is looking like a star with her tutu and flower! I had the perfect sentiment for her.  "BE THE" was heat embossed on the banner, and "star" was die cut. Here is another reason why I love photopolymer stamps... I bent the "BE THE" stamp to fit the shape rather than just stamp it straight! So flexible! (get it!? It's flexible because it's bendy, also flexible as it meets many different needs...LOL) Ohh I kill me...;-D

I love how vellum softens any look! I wanted some fun but subtle design behind the dragon, and thick bold chevron stripes are always fun! Plus they're pointy like stars. I layered it on the Strawberry Slush cardstock for more color, but because the vellum tones down the color, it's subtle! I mounted them on the shimmery silver cardstock, just needed that tiny more shine!

I think this card is so much fun, love that cute girly dragon :-)

My notes...

Stamp: Whimsical Dragon (The paper Shelter), Count The Stars (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Silver Foil Sheet, Silver Glimmer Paper, Shimmery Silver, Pink Vellum (Studio Calico), Glossy White (Ranger), Sheer Basics Vellum Patterned Paper Collections (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Strawberry Slush Stampin' Marker, Pale Pink Kuretake Watercolor Brush, Gold and Silver Colored Pencils (Tombow), Versamark
Accessory: Strawberry Slush Ribbon, White Glittered Gumdrop (YOur Next Stamp)
Tool: Heat Tool, Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, Stars Framelits Die, Petite Punch Pack, Elle-ments Wonky Stitches Die (Avery Elle), Die-namics Stars and Wishes (My Favorite Things)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

CASEing

Thursday, February 4, 2016

Hello dear!
Today I have a fun card that I made for this little challenge that my upline Mary (Click HERE to go to her lovely blog, Stampin' Pretty!) offers us on our private FB page :-)

So Mary has this guy called "Bandit" lurking around our Pals Gallery looking for a project, and each week he looks for a specific theme. This week, He is looking for a project that was CASE'd from the samples in the current Stampin' Up! catalogs. Of course we get to add our own twists to it ;-)

I picked this awesome card from page 42 in the Annual Catalog.
(click HERE for the catalog PDF to see!)
I made a quite few changes but kept the design since it is just lovely!

It was a sample using the stamp set "Be the Star", but I do not own the stamp set, so I substituted it with the retired sets "Many Merry Stars" and "Simply Stars". I heat embossed my stars with Pool Party, and instead of making 2 stars, I made that little border using the die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Die Set. I also die cut the sentiment from the same set. It was sewn onto the star, and the border was sewn onto my favorite Typeset SDSP. I love how it is peeking through the little stars!

I am not sure if the sample used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set for the background, it looks more like random splatters. I used the Gorgeous Grunge set for mine ;-) Those tiny stars are another star from the Many Merry Stars set.
I sewed 3 star sequins right onto my base, I used 2 whites and 1 black instead of all whites.

This was super fun to make, and I just love how it turned out!

My notes...

Stamp: Many Merry Stars, Simply Stars, Gorgeous Grunge
Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Typeset SDSP
Ink: Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Accessory: Metallic Sequins Assortment, Gold Metallic Thread
Tool: Heat Tool, Pool Party Stampin' Emboss Powder, Stars Framelits and Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Die Sets, Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Love is in the air

Tuesday, February 2, 2016

Hello, happy February!!
I have a card filled with love today, just perfect for Valentine's day!
I was inspired by some of my favorite challenges :-)

Januarypinsights

As usual, they have pretty photos to inspire us!
The Pin-Sights Challenge over at Ellen Hutson is about close!

Here is another one of my favorites Mixed media Card Challenge, they want cards with red as well!

Here is one more, Sparkle and Shine Challenge
And here is my card...

Can this get any sweeter!?

As soon as I saw the photo over at Sparkle and Shine, I grabbed this lovely, adorable stamp set from WPlus9, Happy Mail. The images in this set are all so soft and cute, I am in love!
I stamped the cute polar bear with Smoky Slate on watercolor paper, went over the lines with the tiny paint brush to get the shadow. I love how it turned out! Of course I had to give him a blushed cheek ;-)
The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson, I sewed it onto a doily that I tore off. I wanted to add a little bit of lace because of their inspirational photos ;-)

The background was water colored with Blushing Bride first, then I daubed with versamark over the heart stencil and heat embossed with the clear emboss powder. I then used the same stencil and applied the gold embossing paste in some of the hearts.
The edges of the paper was distressed with the Distressed tool and sand paper, then was sewn onto my base card.
That little envelope is from the same stamp set, I added that teeny tiny die cut heart on it.

Since the die I used to get that tiny heart was a border, I got several of them. It seemed like a big waste to just toss them so I sprinkled them all over my card.
I love that little vintage rose, isn't it pretty!?

My notes...

Stamp: Happy Mail (WPlus9)
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Blushing Bride Stampin' Reinker, Smoky Slate Stampin' Ink Pad, Pale Pink Kuretake Watercolor Brush, Versamark
Accessory: Paper Doily (Stampin' Up!), Vintage Rose (Tim Holtz Idea-ology), Gold Embossing Paste (Ranger)
Tool: Heat Tool, Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder (Stampin' Up!), Essentials by Ellen Designer Die Brushstroke Love, (Ellen Hutson), Hearts All Over ARTplorations Stencil (STAMPlorations), Happy Mail Die Set (WPlus9), Essentials: Audrey Cutaway (Winnie and Walter), Sewing Machine
