Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 353

Sunday, March 27, 2016

Happy Easter my friends!
We have a perfect theme for this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
Fresh Brewed Designs is sponsoring us this week, thank you!

What did I say!? Perfect, right!?
Here is my hoppy card...;-)

I chose all these springy colors for this card :-)
Naturally, right....*wink*

The returning, fabulous sponsor always provides us some digi images to work with , thank you! and I picked this cute chick disguised as a bunny! So stinkin' cute!
I printed 3 of them, about 1" tall each. I originally had all 3 inside the frame but I put WAY too much confetti and the bottom guy got buried! LOL So I removed him, fussy cut him, and popped him on top instead. I have to say, that was a happy accident, because I love him sitting right there!
The sentiment is from the For Peep's Sake, it was heat embossed with white on this already water colored scrap, then die cut with the Word Bubbles Die.

I wanted to keep the bunny-chicks as the focal point, so decide to keep the whole design simple. All I did was sewed down the strip of patterned paper and a snippet of the Lace Trim onto my base.

My notes...

Stamp: chick with Bunny Ears (Fresh Brewed Designs), For Peep's Sake
Paper: Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Watercolor Paper, Patterned Paper from Odyssey Card Kit (Studio Calico)
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, Distressed Ink (Ranger)
Accessory: Venetian Lace Trim, Confetti (Martha Stewart)
Tool: Heat Tool, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Word Bubbles Framelits Die, Stitched Film Strip Die (Pretty Pink Posh), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Happy Easter

Saturday, March 26, 2016

Hi there!
Tomorrow is already Easter! I usually give my mother-in-law and her sister flowers but this year, I wanted to do something different.
I made baskets with cardstock and stuffed them with fun little goodies! Of course I had to make cute tags to go with them ;-)

I actually just finished them yesterday and my favorite, Inky Paws Challenge just started, and the theme is spring! And I used their stamp! Now how perfect is that!?

Here it is...;-)

I'll be honest... I came up with this idea because I just got the Easter and the egg dies, and wanted to play with them...*Hee Hee*
I used some of the left over streamer like crepe paper!

I stamped this cute little bunny with Smoky Slate Ink on Watercolor Paper, then just went over the lines with my paint brush and water to color very very lightly. His little cotton tail is just too adorable!

I simply attached a wooden cloth pin on the back of my tag. It can be used as a decoration later this way!

The baskets were made with the Berry Basket die. The handle was punched out with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and attached with small brads so it is movable.
I love all the different textures on this!

My notes...

Stamp: Bunny Hop (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Kraft, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Watercolor Paper, "6x6" Flea Market Patterned Paper Pad Crate Paper), White Streamer (Party City)
Ink: Smoky Slate
Accessory: 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon, Pumpkin Pie Chevron Ribbon, Lace Ribbon (Save on Craft), Wooden Arrow (Target)
Tool: Berry Basket Bigz Die, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Easter and Nested Eggs Dies (Studio Calico), Die-namics Zig Zag Stitched Oval STAX (My Favorite Things), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Have a happy Easter tomorrow ;-)

Sparkle and Shine Challenge

Wednesday, March 23, 2016

Hi there!
I hadn't really had free time to craft lately but today I found some time, so decided to play along with the Sparkle and Shine Challenge!

Those bright green and orange immediately caught my eye! It reminded me of the current Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 352, which I really enjoyed ;-)

I love the green and orange from the photo, it also screamed spring to me!

I finally got to play with my new dies from WPlus9 ;-D
I used the Foxy Friends Die and Bountiful Blooms Die sets, they're both stand-alone dies, which I LOVE
I had to make a wreath with my green leaves! Some flowers and buds were added to make it very spring ;-) The sentiment die is from the Bountiful Blooms Set, isn't it lovely!? Of course I had to brush with my trusty glitter pen ;-)

I kept it very simple and clean since these dies are absolutely beautiful by themselves!
I am loving all the light colors ;-) And I didn't want to add more colors so all it needed was a few Sparkling Clear Sequins, which is probably my favorite PPP sequins!

My notes...

Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Gumball Green, More Mustard, Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Sheer Basics Vellum Patterned Paper Collection (Papertrey Ink),  Linen Cardstock (Ranger)

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 352

Sunday, March 20, 2016

Hi there!
Are you ready for the new Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!!?
This week's sponsor is Verve Stamps!

Isn't this color combo just yummy!!?
Here is my take...

I name this card "Photo Bomb Bird"
See how the bird on the left is falling off when they're all lined up nicely for a photo shoot!? *LOL*

I had been dying to play with this new set from WPlus9, they're the cutest and funniest little birdies ever!!!
I stamped the green guys with Pear Pizzazz then water colored them with Pear Pizzazz and Gumball Green. The orange guy was stamp and water colored with Pumpkin Pie, I did add some Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz to his tummy.

This super adorable stamp set comes with a few sentiments, I thought this one was perfect for this card ;-) It was heat embossed with Pool Party.  Yeas, it's a bit crooked...;-p

The clouds are a little crooked too...*Ha Ha*

I die cut the frame in my Linen Cardstock, then die cut the inside piece with the Stitched Rectangle, which gave that slight gap between them and beautiful Pear Pizzazz peeks out just a wee bit, I love it!

My notes...

Stamp: Happy Birds (WPlus9)
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Watercolor Paper, Linen Cardstock (Ranger)
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Gumball Green, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Baked Brown Sugar, Journaling Pen (Sakura), Versamark

MFT Sketch Challenge

Monday, March 14, 2016

Hi there!
I made another card for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge!

I always say, simple sketches inspire me more.
Here is my card...

When I first saw this sketch, this is the design that popped in my head, but I got distracted by their color challenge, I ended up with a totally different card...*LOL* So I just wanted to create this before the challenge closed!

I mean, really!!?
I had to get this cute chef as soon as it became available... I know I am crazy sometimes...but just look at him!
I colored him with my watercolor brushes. Those bright green shoes were inspired by one of the Iron Chefs (my absolute favorite cooking show from Japan!) Mario Batali! *LOL*

I originally heat embossed the whisks on a strip of velum and colored the handle red on the back, but this darn red ink seems to bleed or smear more than other colors, I made a huge mess!!! So I remade one on Whisper White instead...

I purchased the Gingham Background Stamp with the chef set, I just thought they belonged together like cookies and milk...;-)
This chef set comes with several cute sentiments, I picked this one because this card is going to my aunt-in-law who baked the cake and cupcakes for my son's birthday!

My son loves Minecraft, so she made him a creeper cake along with TNT cupcakes :-D I am not a fan of the game, but these cakes sure are cute! I put a Creeper faces on green balloons and TNT signs on red cube balloons as well.

My notes...

Stamp: Recipe for happiness, Gingham Background (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Whisper White,Smoky Slate, Real Red, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Versamark, Kuretake Watercolor Brush Set, Real Red, Silver Colored Pencil (Sakura)
Tool: Heat Tool, Smoky Slate Stampin' Emboss Powder, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Border Punch

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 351

Sunday, March 13, 2016

Hi lovelies, happy Sunday!
It is time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is the Ribbon Resource.

We have a super fun theme for you this week!
Here is my happy rainbow card...

I took the theme literal and made a rainbow...*giggle*

The sponsor generously provided us a bunch of ribbons to work with, thank you so much! and I chose these rainbow colors! As you can see, I sewed my rainbow on vellum, isn't it fun!?

I stamped the rain clouds with rain drops on my vellum then heat embossed them. From the matching die set, I die cut this cute umbrella in black and white patterned paper and shimmery silver cardstock.

The vellum was sewn onto the Soft Sky cardstock after adding some confetti inside.
I made the sentiment with the Alphabet Rotary Stamp on a strip of cardstock and chopped with scissors, then popped on with the foam tape.

My notes...

Stamp: Showering You With Love (Paper Sweeties), Alphabet Rotary Stamp (SU!)
Paper: Whisper White, Soft Sky, Vellum, Stacked with Love DSP Stack, Simmery Silver Cardstock
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Accessory: Royal Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red 1/2" Solid/Wrinkled Ribbons (The Ribbon Resource), Tiny Heart and Star Confetti (Martha Stewart)
Tool: Heat Tool, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Showering You With Love Sweet Cut (Paper Sweeties), Sewing Machine

Challenges

Friday, March 11, 2016

Hi there, happy Friday!
Today I am playing along 3 challenges with one card!

Originally I just wanted to play the Sketch Challenge over at My Favorite Things because I've been itching to play with my new Chef set from them!

Then I saw this pretty color combo for the Color Challenge so I had to play this too ;-)

I've only played the Little Tangles Challenge a few times because I don't own any Neat and Tangled products (I am not sure why though... :

So here it is...

All my cardstock and ink I own are Stmpin' Up!, I love their huge color selection, and just can't beat how everything matches!
Anyway, I chose Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi (This was like my 2nd time using this green!), Daffodil Delight, and Crumb Cake. Aren't they just lovely together!?

Here is my ombre.
I made a stencil using the Triangles Background Die from MFT, then sponged only some of them with Pear Pizzazz, then made them gradually darker by sponging with Wild Wasabi.

I LOVE this stamp set from Studio Calico, but it doesn't get enough love from me!
I stamped this cute bunny with Crumb Cake, then colored his bow tie with Wild Wasabi, his little nose and buttons with Daffodil Delight, eyes with my super fine journaling pen, then of course I had to give blushed cheeks! I also stamped the balloons from the same set with Crumb Cake, and watercolored 3 more on Watercolor Paper and fussy cut them.

I stamped the cluster of tiny stars, which is also from the same stamp set, to add more yellow, then wrapped some Linen Twine to add some more "Biscotti".
I was actually done there, but the design looked weird so I stamped the sentiment with Wild Wasabi.
I love how this turned out, I think it's so cute! i just LOVE this color combo!!!

My notes...

Stamp: Birthday by Lizzy M (Studio Calico)
Paper: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake
Accessory: Linen Twine
Tool: Die-namics Blueprint 25, Triangles Background (My Favorite Things)

Thank you so  much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Happy Birthday

Wednesday, March 9, 2016

Hello there, happy hump day!

So I have this friend in Japan, we have been besties since 11th grade! Even though we don't get to see each other, thanks to all these technologies, we're still connected! We also send each other birthday gifts, she gets what she can't get in Japan, I get what I can't get here in the US... Her birthday is coming up, it's on St. Patrick's day. It is not celebrated in Japan (for obvious reasons...lol) but I still use green and gold on her cards!

How could I not play along with Sparkle and Shine when they're offering the exact colors I need!?

I am also playing along with the Paper Smooches Challenge, it's birthday!

I think this card is so my bestie!!! :-D

Paper Smooches had their 5th anniversary (congrats!!!), I took advantage of their sale and got this gorgeous hibiscus die that I had my eye on! I die cut the flower twice in Gold Foil Sheet and Watercolor Paper, water colored with Gumball Green then popped them out, nested them inside the gold outline. The hibiscus kind of looks like a clover, doesn't it!?

The sentiment was die cut 4 times, one in gold, the other three in Gumball Green. They were mounted on top of each other slightly off so the green peeks out underneath the gold ;-)

I added some green and gold sequins in between the vellum and the Crumb Cake DSP, then they were sewn together. I can't sew straight anyway, but this time I actually tried to make wonky stitches! *hee hee*

My notes...

Paper: Crumb Cake, Gumball Green, Gold Foil Sheet, Watercolor Paper, Neutral DSP Stack, Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack
Ink: Gumball Green
Accessory: Metallic Gold Thread, 4mm Gold and Shamrock Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Hibiscus Wise Die (Paper Smooches), Happy Birthday Border Lawn Cut (Lawn Fawn), Sewing Machine

Thank you so  much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 350

Sunday, March 6, 2016

Happy Sunday!
I'm a little late for my Sunday post this week, I was going crazy getting my son's birthday party ready all week! The funny thing is, all that work to make decorations and stuff, all the kids cared about was the balloons...LOL

Anyway, let's get to our weekly fun challenge, Cupcake Inspirations!
This week's sponsor is DRS Designs ;-)

Look at these colors!!!
So bright, so springy, so pretty!!!
Here is my card...

Hopefully spring is around the corner so my kids and I can go outside and blow some bubbles :-) This winter hasn't been bad at all, had several freezing days but really, not bad at all! But I still love when spring arrives with warm breeze...;-)

The sponsor generously provided some rubber stamps to work with, thank you so much! And with the color combo in my mind, I picked this super cute piggy image!
I stamped this cutie with the Antique Linen Distressed Ink then colored him with Kuretake Watercolor Brush Set. I'm not completely happy with the way the bubbles turned out, but unfortunately, I did not have time to redo it for this card :-(

I also picked this cute dots stamp, I stamped it with So Saffron and brushed over with some water.

I made messy layers with some patterned papers that are cut in various sizes, added just a snippet of lace, and sawed them all together. It needed one more pink so I simply placed the  die cut sentiment with the mini cloth pin.

My notes...

Stamp: Leonard Pig Blowing Bubbles, Easy Dot Background (DRS Designs)
Paper: Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petal, Watercolor Paper, Craft Market Patterned Paper Pad (Crate Paper)
Ink: So Saffron, Antique Linen Distressed Ink (Ranger), Kuretake Watercolor Pens
Accessory: Crochet Lace Trim, Mini Cloth pin (Save on Craft)
Tool: Din-namics Stitched Rectangles STAX (My Favorite Things), Sawing machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
