Newton's Nook Designs May Release - Adventure Awaits

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

Hello there!
Welcome to day two of the Newton's Nook Designs May Release!
I am their guest for the month of May, and I could not be more psyched!!!
Alright, here they go...;-)

This new stamp set, Adventure Awaits, is so beautiful, it is breath taking!
Also today we are sharing our two new stand-alone die sets that compliment the theme of this set: Points & Plumes and Splendid Stags.
*Note*
They do not trim out the images from the Adventure Awaits set.
Here is my sample...;-)

I very much enjoyed playing with this gorgeous set!!

Look at these details!
I heat embossed this beauty with Enchanted Gold Emboss Powder, then colored some of the patterns with Copic markers and Blendabilities markers. Isn't this just gorgeous!?

The sentiments in this set are all beautiful as well!
I heat embossed this one with Calypso Coral on vellum and fussy cut it.
I then die cut these stunning feathers with the new die set Points & Plumes, stapled the sentiment on the bigger feather, then mounted them around my oval frames. I want to tell you something... I own a few other feather die sets, but this one is my favorite by far! The details are just amazing!

I randomly stamped the arrow image on my base with the gold ink, then added some teal fringe for a pop of color.
I got more and more inspirations as I was assembling this card, it is just gorgeous!

Newton's Nook Designs May Release - Happy Little Thoughts

Monday, May 16, 2016

Hello lovelies! Major news!!
I received this email from Jennifer Jackson, the owner and designer of Newton's Nook Designs, asking me to be her guest for the month of May! I was out shopping with my husband when I opened the email, and started to squeal and jump up and down! I was so happy I didn't care that people were looking at me! *LOL*

On day one, we are revealing this gorgeous stamp set Happy Little Thoughts along with the matching die set. They will be available for purchase on Friday May 20th!

I know, right!? ;-)
Here is what I created...

Of course I had to play with all the beautiful wreathes!
They're 5" x 3-3/4", smaller than A2 cards but not quite note cards.

My card #1 is this delicate flower wreath.
It was heat embossed with white then water colored with soft colors. Do you see how dainty and pretty it is!? I die cut my white linen cardstock with the scallop frame, heat embossed the sentiment (which is absolutely lovely!) on it, then water colored with green and yellow so it is visible. Popped the wreath with dimensionals and added some sequins, done!

Card #2 is gorgeous grapevine wreath!
It was heat embossed with Early Espresso then die cut. I sewed some Crumb Cake Tulle, layered some gold thread, the wreath, crochet trim, a little heart that was die cut with the medium heart from the Darling Hearts Die set. The love die cut is also from the same die set. I was imagining a lovely, rustic wedding ;-)

Last but not least, card #3!
When I saw this leafy wreath, I got the idea of framing something like a logo. I looked through my NND collection and this French kitty was perfect! I heat embossed this cutie with a little mustache in gold, popped the gold wreath on, gave him a little banner and a bow, ta-da! I love combining multiple sets, you can make something so unique!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 360

Sunday, May 15, 2016

Hi there!
It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Altenew!

Okay, who's loving this fun and gorgeous color combo as much as I am!?
Here is my take...

One of my reasons why I love this challenge so much is these yummy cupcake inspirational photos, and once again, I was so very inspired by it!

These colors are absolutely gorgeous together, and those stars in the photo are just too fun not to use on my card! I die cut some stars in Cherry Cobbler and Blushing Bride Patterned papers, then partly die cut the same stars in the Gold Glimmer Paper. Now I have gold dipped stars!

My 4" x 5-1/2" Whisper White cardstock was embossed with the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, mounted on my Cherry Cobbler base along with this beautiful gold rose washi tape. I chose this design instead of my gold glittered tape because #1 it's so pretty #2 I wanted the red to come through it. What other sentiment could I have used on this shinny card!?

My notes...

Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Gold Glimmer Paper, Gold Foil Sheet, Subtles DSP Stack, Christmas DSP
Accessory: Gold Rose Washi Tape (Freckled Fawn)
Tool: Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (SU!), Die-namics Stitched Star STAX (My Favorite Things), Sparkle & Shine Trio Die (WPlus9), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and see what my teammates have created!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 359

Sunday, May 8, 2016

Hello there! Happy Sunday!
It is time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Paper Sweeties ;-)

What a fun theme!
Here is my take...;-)

I used 2 stamp sets from Paper Sweeties to create this springy card.
And the colors were inspired by their last month's challenge, so earthy and beautiful!

This banner is from the Wagon Add-on: Bloom and Grow. I heat embossed the image with Early Espresso on Pistachio Pudding then die cut it with the matching die. Then it was mounted on this beautiful grapevine image from their new set Hello Spring. It was also heat embossed with Early Espresso.
I added this beautiful mint seam binding on my wreath. I say this every time I use their seam bindings, but I just LOVE how it is wrinkled and twisted, and look at the way it was stained! Just gorgeous! I also used some Watermelon Slower Sequins, the green and pink look so yummy together!

This cute sign is also from the Wagon Add-on: Bloom and Grow set, I just couldn't resist using it! I love how it is crooked! I added some bright yellow flower sequins.

I love their sweet images and sweet embellishments!
I had to use the scallop frame to make it super girly!

My notes...

Stamp: Hello Spring, Wagon Add-on: Bloom and Grow (Paper Sweeties)
Paper: Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Crumb Cake
Ink: Versamark
Accessory: Mint Seam binding, Watermelon and Cookie Dough Sequins (Paper Sweeties)
Tool: Heat Tool, Early Espresso Stampin' Emboss Powder, Hello Spring and Wagon Add-on: Bloom and Grow Sweet Cuts (Paper Sweeties), Essentials:Audrey Cutaway (Winnie and Walter)
