Happy Friday, my friends!
Did you enjoy the reveal week!!? I bet your wishlist is like a mile long! {LOL}
All the new products are now available for purchase in the NND shop!
We're continuing the Newton's Nook Designs 6 Year Celebration with the blog hop today!
I made 2 cards to showcase the 2 new Stencil Sets, Hibiscus and Pineapple πΊπ
I wanted these stencil sets to be the star of the designs for today's cards ;-)
First up is the Hibiscus Stencil Sets.
I had this adorable hula corgi from the Corgi Beach Set already colored and he was just perfect!
I first used the stencil with the leaves and blended Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink, then swapped the stencils and used the one with the flowers and a thick coat of embossing paste. I watercolored the flower petals with deep pink then the clear glitter pen.
This little corgi is shaking his little tail off wearing the grass skirt and lai around his neck ;-)
He was watercolored and die cut with the coordinating die.
I borrowed the Aloha sentiment die from the Aloha Newton Die Set and applied Nuvo Crystal Drops to it (apparently, I took this photo before it was completely dry...oops!)
I die cut 2 strips of green cardstock with fringe die to create "grass skirt".
This is really bright for me {LOL} but I love how it turned out!
And here is the Pineapple Stencil Set ;-)
Have I told you how much I love pineapples!!? π
It is my favorite fruit of all, I can't resist anything that has pineapple images, and it's really good to have a pineapple in the kitchen in case of intruders because they're so hard and heavy, it'd make a great weapon! {LOL}
The same process as the Hibiscus card, I blended 2 greens and one of the stencils with the leaves for the leaf part, then using the other stencil and embossing paste for the actual fruit part. Once the paste had dried, I colored with the Yellow Glimmer Glaze Fine Glitter Paint. It took me a long time because the paste kept absorbing the paint on me!
I die cut 2 leaves and a hibiscus flower with the Hibiscus Die Set.
Then this cute little ticket that was die cut using the ticket die from the Framework Die Set and heat embossed the sentiment, which I borrowed from the Aloha Newton Stamp Set.
The Jude twine adds the natural, organic look and it goes so well with the pineapples and hibiscus, doesn't it!? I didn't want to ruin that feel so no sequins!
