Newton's Nook Designs February Release Day 3 - Company of Cats Set

Wednesday, February 14, 2018

Hi, my lovelies!
Happy Valentine's Day💗
My twins have some fun celebration at pre-school today but they're been so sick, I don't know if I should take them...but don't want them to miss the fun! Grr!
Anyway, the fun Newton's Nook Designs February Release continues and we're revealing the Company of Cats Set today! It will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop along with the other new products!

I know! I know!!
Can you even handle this much cuteness!!?
If you love the Frozen Fellowship Set, well, you just HAVE TO get this one too!
Okay, here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Company of Cats Set - Naki Rager

They look even cuter when they're all colored in, don't they!?
As a crazy cat lady myself, this was just too much fun to color 💗 {LOL}
Did you notice the sentiment on the top? SO CUTE! and SOOOO TRUE!

Newton's Nook Designs Company of Cats Set - Naki Rager

I know I shouldn't favor one over another, but the one with the red mohawk is the absolute favorite 💗 I colored his mohawk bright red just because...😝

Newton's Nook Designs Company of Cats Set - Naki Rager

So apparently, I was in a "dimensional" mood {LOL}
First, I layered the grass on one of my bunny cards yesterday, today, I stamped and fussy cut each row of these kitties so I could do this ⇧

Newton's Nook Designs Company of Cats Set - Naki Rager

Here's from the other side of the card.
It took me a long time to make this, so yes! I want you to see it! {LOL}

My second card with this adorable set is a total opposite of the first one!
I wanted to show you that you don't have to color each and every kitty to use this big stamp ;-) I brainstormed...💡 A chalkboard would be fun! MAN! I was right!

Newton's Nook Designs Company of Cats Set - Naki Rager

I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder on black cardstock, gave everyone blushed cheeks with this pink chalk pencil, colored their accessories with green, blue, purple, yellow, and orange chalk pencils, also white and gold regular colored pencils. I rubbed some Perfect Pearl with my finger to give a more chalky look.

I was going to use the other sentiment from the set, but I didn't want to make one of the cats stand out, I really liked this chalkboard art look! So there I went, looking through my NND stash, and this Meow die from the Newton Unwinds Die set stopped me ;-) It's just perfect, isn't it!? 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Fabruary Release Day 2 - Bitty Bunnies Set

Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs February Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 2 of the reveal and we're showcasing the Bitty Bunnies Set along with the coordinating die set ;-)

EEEEEEEEEK!
How adorable are these bunnies!?
I'm totally in love with their little cotton tails 💗
Okay, here is my take ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Bitty Bunnies Set - Naki Rager

My adorable Easter colored bunnies are playing hide and seek in the fields 💗
I layered grass borders with foam tape to add dimensions so that my bunnies can hide ;-) The first 2 layers were die cut with the Land Borders Die, and I also added vellum cloud die cut with the Sky Border Die.

Newton's Nook Designs Bitty Bunnies Set - Naki Rager

Well, these cuties tried to hide but forgot about their cute little cotton tails! {Hee Hee 😝} The blue bunny even has a butterfly sitting on his tail, oh, boy! They were all stamped with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper, water colored, then die cut with the coordinating die set.

This yellow bunny is dressed up with a little flower in her head 🌼
She must have picked one of the flowers from the fields ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Bitty Bunnies Set - Naki Rager

It would have been mean if I didn't color this little guy so here goes my second card ;-)
Another spring scenery but different details. I used the Land Borders Die set again, but this time, it was die cut from teal vellum, then it was sewen.

Newton's Nook Designs Bitty Bunnies Set - Naki Rager

I colored this cutie with yellow-ish green first, but it was a bit too much {LOL}
So I stamped him again with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor and colored him with the same color. I added some shadows with Zig Clean Color Real Brush in oatmeal.
I also stamped and colored several flowers and die cut them all with the coordinating dies. This is another cute sentiment 💗 it was heat embossed with light blue but it looks gray in my photos! (gosh, I wish I could take better photos!)

Newton's Nook Designs Bitty Bunnies Set - Naki Rager

After sponging the sky with Broken China Distress Oxide Ink, I used the Cloudy SKy Stencil and Varsamark so that they can be heat embossed with clear embossing powder. No, they're not easy to see in person either, they need to catch some lights but that's exactly what I wanted!

Newton's Nook Designs February Release Day 1 - Newton's Easter Basket Set

Monday, February 12, 2018

Hello, there!
Welcome to the Newton's Nook Designs February Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop, but first, we are going to reveal what they look like!
Today is day one and we are showcasing the Newton's Easter Basket set along with the coordinating die set.

I am so tired of winter, I cannot wait for spring! 🐣🐇🌸
But for now, I enjoyed this adorable Easter set with Newton and his new little bunny friend 🌷

I love Jen because she is such a sweetheart, and so talented!
But also, she knows exactly what we all like ;-)
I'm a big fan of her stencil line, and it's a treat every time she releases new ones!

Alright, here is my take...;-)

Awwwww, I am really looking forward to spring 🌼
The clear blue sky and beautiful green grass 🌞

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Easter Basket Set - Naki Rager

This super sweet image totally stole my heart 💙💚💛
I stamped the image with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper and started with the Pearlescent Watercolor on all my eggs. I wanted to match Newton and his new bunny friend, aren't they just so adorable!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Easter Basket Set - Naki Rager

This sweet sentiment was heat embossed on vellum then die cut with one of the banners from the Frames and Flags Die set. Because I used a light blue embossing powder, it was kind of hard to see on my sky background so I die cut another banner from this patterned paper with springy colors on it.

This stitched panel is also from the Frames and Flags Die set.
I thought it might be fun to have a little frame popped on the background, which was sponged then some water splatters and embossing paste clouds were added.

My second project is this little tag ;-)
With the coordinating die set, making a little tag like this is easy breezy!
I used the Cloudy Sky Stencil on this one also, it's just so cute!

Look at this cute kitty in this pretty egg!
I wish I had one of those waddly things, but since I don't, I thought at least he could rock left and right ;-)

I heat embossed this sentiment on the back.
I know this is an Easter set but with this sentiment, it can be for any occasions!

Newton's Noo Designs Sweet Treats Blog Hop

Friday, February 2, 2018

Hello, lovelies! Happy Friday!
The Newton's Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats - just in time for Valentine's day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

Here is my sweet treat...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Costume Party Set - Naki Rager

I had so many ideas for this blog hop even though Valentine's day is my less favorite holiday! But ever since Jen released the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set, I LOVE making tags 💗 I don't know what will go inside that box yet, but it will be filled with some fun stuff for certain!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Costume Party Set - Naki Rager

So when I have too many ideas or none whatsoever, I like to flip through my NND stash, and this Halloween set, Newton's Costume Party, stopped me ;-) I heat embossed the bee costume with Tea Rose Embossing Powder on watercolor paper, colored the hood part with also tea rose (different companies but they both have the same name!) and gold, and the stripes with yellow and light gray. I did use the coordinating die but I didn't like the pink outline so decided to fussy cut to get rid of some of them. The wings were heat embossed with gold embossing powder on vellum then die cut. Vellum wings kind of disappeared on the vellum tag, so I added a lot of sparkles with the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. I gotta tell you, Stella and I don't exactly have the best relationship, she doesn't really give me a lot of sparkles (she's so mean! LOL)😣 This probably has at least 6 coats!

Newton's Nook Designs Fancy Edges Tag Die Set - Naki Rager

I just had to make a shaker tag! It's just so much more fun, you know!?
I die cut 2 of the tags and sewed them together. I did leave the top opened to pour in my confetti in first. I added gold, silver, and rose gold heart confetti, sparkling clear bead seeds, and teeny weeny iridescent heart and butterfly confetti. I love how the iridescent look minty through vellum!

I love tassels with tags! 💗 They add so much drama!
I think it was actually the same hop from last year, I had made tassels and some people asked me for a tutorial. I didn't mean to ignore your request, I'm just simply very forgetful, and this was the first time I've made another tassel since! {so sorry!}

So here it goes!

Making tassels is really easy.
You start with wrapping twine or whatever the material of your choice around pretty much anything. I just use my fingers, and since this one was a mini size, I only used 2 fingers.

When you have enough (and it's completely up to you!), slide the twine off of your fingers and tie on the side of the loops that has no loose ends.

For this mini tassel, I used gold thread but for bigger ones, you'd want to use twine.
Tie a snippet of twine once, go the other side and tie again, then wrap the twine tightly then make a knot. Cut the excess and tuck that inside the tassel.

Cut all the loops then trim them to make it even, that's it ;-)
Super easy, super cute ;-)
