Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 11

Saturday, October 27, 2012

Hi there! We have moved our play day from Fridays to Saturdays, still the same rules, same fun:-)

Use Squares

Use Orange

Orange made me think of Halloween since it's around the corner, so I went right to the Spooky Bingo Bits Set. And of course I had to use the Howlstooth and scaringbone DSP. I heat embossed 3 images from the stamp set with Tangerine Tango and White Emboss powder, they just pop on the Basic Black Card Stock.

Simple thank you from the Embellished Events Set was perfect:-)
I just scored a line next to it to add some dimension.

Cute and simple, but fun:-)

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Spooky Bingo Bits, Embellished Events
Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP

Freshly Made Sketches

Friday, October 26, 2012

Here is my card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches:-)
I am making a lot of Christmas cards to send out, and trying to make different one for everyone. This one is going to my mother-in-law, she love the Greeting Card Kids set:-) In fact, this set belongs to her.
A lot of layers!

My very first time watercoloring! I used Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender Pen, and it was easy! I don't know why I was so afraid of watercoloring! I added some snow with the Dazzling Details. The Pearls were added as the buttons on her jacket.

I just got the Storytime DSP last week and finally opened it up today, and am in LOVE!

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Greeting Card Kids, More Merry Messages
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Watercolor Paper, Storytime DSP, White Glitter Paper from Target
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, and Pool Party Stampin' Write Markers, Pool Party Classic Ink Pad, Jet Black Stazon
Accessory: 5/8" Crochet Trim, Rhinestone and Pearl Basic Jewels, Dazzling Details
Tool: 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Snow Flurry Bigz Die, Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots
Secret Ingredient: Snow, Snow, Snow!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 10

Friday, October 19, 2012

Wow! This is our 10th Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge!

This is a very bright, bold, and fun challenge this week!
And here's why...

This image is from one of the children's shows that my 2-1/2 year old son watches on Disney Jr. The Channel, Tinga Tinga Tales. As you can see, the images in the show is very bold, vivid, and so fun!

Sparkles
Her pick was just perfect for our very fun, bold challenge!
I love when our picks work so well together:-)

Yes, I am playing Freshly Made Sketches again. As I mentioned before, this challenge helps me make cards easier!

The owl was sponged with the new Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad to give some sparkle. I used one of the Summer Smooches DSP for his eyes and added Rhinestones. There are so many crazy eyed owls in the stores now and I thought to make my own funky owl:-)

This card was definitely out of my
element, so many bright colors, so many patterns, so many textures... but I really enjoyed it!

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: None
Paper: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Summer Smooches DSP, Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP
Ink: Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad
Accessory: Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Tool: Owl Builder Punch, Labels Collection Framelits Die, Stripes, Chevron Stripes, and Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Simply Score Scoring Tool, Glue Dots
Secret Ingredient: Be bold!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's see what my very talented friend, Nina has come up with! You know she always makes something gorgeous!

Pals Paper Arts Challenge

Thursday, October 18, 2012

It's time to play another Pals Paper Arts Challenge
I just love these challenges:-)

PPA145 October 18

Another fabulous sketch by my fellow pal, fabulous Margaret Moody. Well, she did it again! I love this sketch! I have a feeling I'll be using this again n' again...:-)

I decided I wanted to use some flowers, but you know what,  I don't own too many flowers! I know, right!? That's just wrong!! Good thing one of my favorite stamp sets, Button Buddies, has this very clean flower:-)
I heat embossed to make my own designer paper, then stamped it with Pool Party, then again with Summer Starfruit and punched out the center with the 1/2" Circle Punch.

I used the Attic Boutique DSP from the Occasion Mini Catalog because those shapes are similar to the flower I used, and just love the color:-) I embossed the big flag with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder to give a little Asian flair to this card.

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Button Buddies
Paper: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Attic Boutique DSP
Ink: Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Versamark
Accessory: Basic Gray 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon
Tool: White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, 1/2" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots
Secret Ingredient: Great sketch!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
 Hope you enjoyed it!
