Newton's Nook Designs and Xyron Inspiration Week

Tuesday, June 26, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
This week Newton's Nook Designs and Xyron are partnering for a very awesome inspiration week! Each day there is fresh inspiration using Newton's Nook Designs products with Xyron adhesives on the NND blog and on the Xyron facebook page!

Today lovely Maria Russell and I are taking our turn to inspire you with some fun projects! Here goes mine...;-)

Xyron was so very generous and offered us some goodies to play with (Thank you so much!) and I picked their Teresa Collins 1.5" Sticker Maker and some refills! This is such a great way to use up some of your huge scrap collection (it's okay, we all have it, no need to be embarrassed about saving every little scrap...LOL) with the Shape Dies like the Autumn Leaves Set, Peppermint Die Set, just to name a couple ;-)

The reason I chose the sticker maker is so that I can just slap on some NND stickers on my big calendar! I don't do planners, but I still need to write down things so I won't forget (even though I still forget somehow...LOL)
I was directly stamping and coloring on the calendar (like the grad kitty from the Newton's Graduation Set) but I had to take it down and put it back up on the wall, and thought stickers would make that easier!

Newton's Nook Designs Winston's BBQ Set - Naki Rager

A little grill image is from the Winston's BBQ set. I stamped it, colored with colored pencils, fussy cut it, then fed through the sticker maker. Isn't this a must for summer ccok out with your family and friends!?

Newton's Nook Designs Shark Bites Set - Naki Rager

My twins are turning 5 in August! And I am throwing them a party and thought, wouldn't it be cute to send a reminder sticker with the invitations!? And since the theme is "Sharks and Mermaids", I used this big guy from the Shark Bites Set ;-) He was stamped with light gray on Kraft cardstock to match my Kraft calendar, colored with colored pencil and die cut with the coordinating die, then ran through the sticker maker.

Newton's Nook Designs Loveable Llama & Playful Pandas Sets - Naki Rager

The stack of presents image is from the new Loveable Llamas Set, and the little balloon is from the new Playful Pandas Set. I'm gonna have to make A LOT MORE of these little images, so many birthdays!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Book Club Set - Naki Rager

I got a 1.5" sticker maker so some of the bigger images wouldn't fit, but no worries! Like this one from the Newton's Book Club Set, the stack of books that Newton's is on is a lot bigger, but all I needed to do was fussy cut to have only 2 books so that it would fit the sticker maker ;-) I originally picked this image for some events at the local library during the summer, but this fit, too!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sick Day Set - Naki Rager

I just wanted to show you how easy it is to use the sticker maker.
Also, I had these prescription bottle images from the Newton's Sick Day Set that are pretty small and wanted to feed them 2 at a time, and I used a piece of Glad Press & Seal to keep them in place.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sick Day Set - Naki Rager

I don't know about you, but I am pretty cheap when it comes to consumable supplies and try not to waste too much {LOL} I could have run these guys one by one, but that would have made a big waste! Doing this made more sense to me...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sick Day Set - Naki Rager

You feed your pieces from one side, pull the adhesive paper from the other side, that's it!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sick Day Set - Naki Rager

Before getting too excited and peeling your freshly made stickers, you want to rub it (if you have a tool like this, that's perfect!) to make sure all the adhesive has transferred. Then peel the film and enjoy!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 4 - Newton's Kitchen

Thursday, June 21, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Wow! Today is already the last day of the Newton's Nook Designs June Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase tomorrow Friday the 22nd in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop! But wait! We have one more set for a sneak peek, ready!?

Our adorable Newton is such an adventurer and this time, he is a little chef!
I don't like cooking but am not a bad cook (if I do say so myself...LOL).
I wish I had a cute little helper like Newton!
Okay, here I go...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Kitchen Set - Naki Rager

I just couldn't resist this ADORABLE image with this ADORABLE sentiment 💗
If you're a cat lover (and I'm pretty sure you are since you love NND), you know how cats purr and push, sometimes even suckling on your clothing/blankets (my cats only do it if I have my fleece blanket over me). I absolutely ADORE that 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Kitchen Set - Naki Rager

This cutest little chef was heat embossed with Tan EP on watercolor paper, watercolored, then die cut with the coordinating die. His chef hat was stamped with light gray on watercolor paper, some shadows and gingham to match his scarf were watercolored, then die cut with the coordinating die set.

This adorable card is actually another interactive card!
He doesn't move much, I just wanted him to knead the dough! So his bottom was secured in a place with a brad pierced through from the back of the patterned paper and a tiny piece of foam tape in between the patterned paper and the back of the chef.
(I tried to post a little video but couldn't figure out how to make it smaller so I'll post it on my Instagram! LOL)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Kitchen Set - Naki Rager

My second card using the new Newton's Kitchen Set also has this adorable image with another adorable sentiment 💗 I think this card turned out to be very fun with a lot of patterns and bright colors paired with black & white!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Kitchen Set - Naki Rager

This cutie was stamped on watercolor paper and no-line watercolored, but I wasn't happy with my color choice, I colored over it with colored pencils! I die cut him out using the coordinating die but again, wasn't happy with the color I used on the background either so decided to fussy cut around him but kept the stove top part and put it back in the place.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Kitchen Set - Naki Rager

I had this patterned paper with this frame and it made a fun background, almost like wallpaper and a framed picture! And this adorable sentiment does deserve to be framed so here it is ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 3

Wednesday, June 20, 2018

Happy hump day, lovelies!
The Newton's Nook Designs June Release continues and you will be able to get your hands on these fabulous new products this Friday the 22nd in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
But let's take a sneak peek at more of the new sets first!
Today we have 2 super fun sets to reveal and I have a feeling you'll LOVE both!

First up is the Wine A Little Set along with the coordinating die set!
The name itself is simply fun and adorable, but look at these little images with these sentiments!

Isn't this such a unique and fun set!?
The sentiment just kills me...😆
Ready to see what I created!?

Newton's Nook Designs Coffee & Wine Set - Naki Rager

First up is this fun card with the Coffee & Wine Set
The sentiment is the focal point but it couldn't tell its story without using all the little images that come with it ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Coffee & Wine Set - Naki Rager

I stamped all the images on white cardstock and colored them in with Chameleon Markers then fussy cut them. Before popping them on with foam tape, I foiled the little backgrounds using the new Sunscape Stencil, aren't they cute!? ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Coffee & Wine Set - Naki Rager

This sentiment is just so fun! It was heat embossed with white, early espresso, and a teeny bit of red EP on the bottom of the sentiment on vellum then fussy cut. I popped it on inside the biggest frame with clear 3D tape (I wish it were truly clear!).

Newton's Nook Designs Wine A Little Set - Naki Rager

My first card with the Wine A Little Set is an interactive card!

Newton's Nook Designs Wine A Little Set - Naki Rager

I saw the cork, corkscrew, and this sentiment and thought, wouldn't it be really fun to actually uncork!? I stamped the cork then only half of the corkscrew then colored them together so that the corkscrew is in the cork.

Newton's Nook Designs Wine A Little Set - Naki Rager

I mounted my front panel with foam tape so that I could make a path for a piece of the Acetate Sheet. As you can see in the photo, I also popped the corkscrew with foam tape.

Newton's Nook Designs Wine A Little Set - Naki Rager

My second card with the Wine A Little Set is very CAS but still fun with the red wine and the foiled red dotted background ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Wine A Little Set - Naki Rager

I watercolored these bottle and glasses and fussy cut as well.
I applied the Glossy Accents on my glasses to give some shine ;-)
I tried a few different backgrounds first but this foiled dots were the winner ;-) Deciding on which color to foil with after applying the transfer paste using the Bubbly Stencil was quite a task! {LOL} The red foil is pretty bold for me, but it really isn't that intimidating on white cardstock ;-) Plus, I stayed inside the stitched lines of the frame from the Framework Die Set so it looks more controlled (if that makes sense...)

Newton's Nook Designs Wine A Little Set - Naki Rager

Instead of using the sentiment "The best wine is..." as my original design, I thought this cheers sentiment die was more fun for this card! I die cut the sentiment from the Cocktail Mix Die Set 3 times from black cardstock and heat embossed one of them with clear EP then layered them all. Doesn't it look like a puffy sentiment sticker!? I LOVE it 💗

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 2 - Loveable Llamas Set

Tuesday, June 19, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome to the Newton's Nook Designs June Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 22nd in the Newton's Nook Shop
Today is day 2 and we're revealing the Loveable Llamas Set along with the Coordinating Die Set, ready to see it!?

EEEEEEEK 💛
Who else is happy to see more llamas other than me!?
Not to mention all those accessories, how fun is that!?
Alright, here I go!

Newton's Nook Designs Loveable Llamas Set - Naki Rager

You have no idea how happy I was to see those sunglasses in this set!
I love adding them to my little critters and now we have a die! Woo Hoo!
This card turned out to be such a happy card, it makes me happy too 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Loveable Llamas Set - Naki Rager

So this has been sort of my pattern lately but the sentiment "No prob-llama" was the inspiration for today's card ;-) I wanted my llama to be like everything is cool, there is no prob-llama at all... So I heat embossed him with Tea Rose EP and colored him peachy pink and brown, so sweet and happy 💗 His cool shades and saddle were heat embossed with Gold Tinsel EP and colored the saddle with bright and shimmery Kuretake Pearl Colors. Then I added a frame to his shades with Nuvo Sugared Almond Crystal Drops, and also gave him mani & pedi with Gold Crystal Drops ;-) The fun sentiment was heat embossed with Gold EP on die-cut speech bubble vellum.

Newton's Nook Designs Loveable Llamas Set - Naki Rager

I die cut this triangle panel to match the geometric patterns on his saddle and mounted that onto the watercolored rainbow panel, which is kind of repeating the colors on the saddle.

Newton's Nook Designs Loveable Llamas Set - Naki Rager

I made another card with the other llama in the set ;-)
This one is more muted tone, I thought the more organic tone suited llamas.

Newton's Nook Designs Loveable Llamas Set - Naki Rager

For this card, I heat embossed this cutie (I just love her sassy face!) with Early Espresso EP on watercolor paper and watercolored her skin with brown. Then I stamped the same image on this soft floral patterned paper and fussy cut it. I purposely cut inside the lines so the embossed outline would show. I gave her a little blue flower sequin because she is just fabulous 💙

Newton's Nook Designs Loveable Llamas Set - Naki Rager

I always love Jen's adorable punny sentiments but this one's really cute! 💗
I decided to heat embossed with Early Espresso EP on this dusty pink balloon, which was die cut using the Balloon Shakers Die Set so that it would get more proper attention rather than hiding behind my sassy llama ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Loveable Llamas Set - Naki Rager

Even though my llama looks fabulous and she even has this huge balloon, it wasn't quite festive enough so I added some confetti using the Confetti Stencil and Gold Embossing Paste. I didn't want something really shiny or shimmery so this gold embossing paste was perfect, but it was still missing something so I sprinkled those tiny red star confetti and I LOVE it 💗
