Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 1

Monday, March 12, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Wow! It's time for the Newton's Nook Designs March Release already!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop ;-)
Today is the first day of the reveal and we're showcasing the Holding Happiness set along with the coordinating die set, PLUS Bubbly and Confetti Stencils

Oh my goodness!
Aren't these girls just so fun and adorable!?
This set could be used for so many different occasions, too!

Both of these are super fun and super versatile, so many possibilities πŸ’—
Alright, here are my takes ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Holding Happiness Set - Naki Rager

Did you all enjoy our collaboration blog hop with Therm-O-Web last week!?
They gave us so much stuff, I just had to foil my cardsπŸ’—

Newton's Nook Designs Holding Happiness Set - Naki Rager

I have a board where I pin all the beautiful wedding cakes on Pinterest, and this cake is just like one of them! All white with real flowers, simple but absolutely gorgeous πŸ’œ This lovely image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Artist Marker Paper (so smooth!) and colored with Chameleon Markers, then die cut with the coordinating die. I also added a single flower to the bottom tier.

This sentiment is actually on top of each other but I separated them to fit on this skinny banner. I wanted this card for any occasions, so this was just perfect ;-)

I am absolutely in LOVE with the Bubbly Stencil πŸ’—
I applied the Transfer Gel from Therm-O-Web, let it dry, then ran it through the laminator with this super sparkle Silver Shattered Deco Foil. I just adore how it reflects different colors, so pretty πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’œ

My second card with the Holding Happiness Set is a super fun birthday card!
Wouldn't you LOVE it if someone showed up at your door with a bunch of balloons and confetti like this!!?

Newton's Nook Designs Holding Happiness Set - Naki Rager

Just like my first girl with the cake, she was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Artist Marker Paper and colored with Chameleon Markers. Coloring all those balloons was a blast! I actually colored her skin dark but all the bright lights and tweaking the photos made it lighter :-( I think yellow looks absolutely gorgeous on a dark skin πŸ’› I can't wear any shades of yellow with my skin tone {BOO} πŸ˜ž

I heat embossed this super fun sentiment with black embossing powder on vellum and fussy cut it. I didn't want to heat emboss directly on the front panel because I had this little tear where the sentiment is, so this is working as a little band-aid ;-)

For this background, I did the same process as the first card. But to kind of match the balloons, I used 3 different colors ;-) I used this black and white striped washi tape to tone down the very bright shiny confetti ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs & Therm-O-Web Inspiration Week

Wednesday, March 7, 2018

Happy Wednesday, lovelies!
This week Newton's Nook Designs and Therm O Web are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to add fun foils and more to your cards using Therm O Web products with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! There are prizes too! Read all the way to the end of this post to find out how you can win!

Before I show you my shiny project, take a look at all the goodies Therm-O-Web sent us the NND DT members! Thank you so much πŸ’— I had never tried foiling before, therefore, I had NO CLUE what I was supposed to do with all these beautiful products! {LOL} Good thing my team members are absolutely awesome and helped me! πŸ˜‰

Alright, here it goes!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Pot of Gold Set - Naki Rager

I picked the Newton's Pot of Gold Set for today's cardπŸ˜‰ I thought all the gold coins in his pot would be fun to foil! But I ended up foiling a lot more than his little gold!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Pot of Gold Set - Naki Rager

So first things first, I stamped my leprechaun kitty with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored him with Chameleon Markers. After fussy cutting the image, I applied the Deco Foil Adhesive Pen to the gold coins and the buckle on his little hat. All I had to do was place a piece of gold foil sheet on the image and firmly but gently (so that I wouldn't rip this delicate foil sheet) rubbed the foil over where the adhesive was applied, and lifted the foil sheet. It is THAT EASY!!!

The second thing I foiled is this sentiment die.
I die cut the sentiment from Double Sided Foam Tape, removed the paper from the top side, laid gold foil sheet on the sentiment, rubbed it firmly but gently, and lifted the foil sheet. THAT IS IT!!! If I knew foiling was this easy, I would have tried it a lot sooner!

I was going to add a rainbow die behind the Leprechaun kitty, but really wanted to try the Transfer Gel! So I pulled out the Tumbling Hearts Stencil and placed it over white cardstock, which was die cut with the Frames & Flags Die Set. I used the Purple Tape to hold the stencil down, and cover where I didn't want the gel applied. This Purple Tape is one of the new products from Therm-O-Web. I read people talking about this tape on Stamp Junkies and was curious so I was pretty excited to have received one!

After applying the gel, I let it sit for several hours to dry, then placed little pieces of pink, red, gold, green, and blue foil sheets over the hearts. I set the panel down on another piece of cardstock then placed them in folded parchment paper and ran it through my laminator. You can see that some of the hearts are missing wee bits of foil, I think I applied the gel uneven 😬 Other than that, aren't these rainbow colored hearts just gorgeous!!? I used the little heart from the Darling Hearts Die Set to die cut from the Double Sided Foam Tape and foiled it with green just because πŸ˜‰

This Toner Sheet is another new product from Therm-O-Web.
There are different designs with toner on acetate and they can be foiled.
This tiny polka dots sheet was foiled with the Sequin Gold Foil, isn't it beautiful!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Pot of Gold Set - Naki Rager

I love the tiny polka dots sheet, but didn't love it on today's card. Luckily, I had 3 other designs and these diagonal stripes looked perfect πŸ’š I also added this Lucky sentiment from the Newton's Pot of Gold Set, which was heat embossed with the same green as the base card, and it was fussy cut.
There are more amazing projects today over on the Therm O Web blog so pop over there for more inspiration!

Newton's Nook Designs

Wednesday, February 28, 2018

Hi, there!
Can you believe today is the last day of February!?
I feel like I just said the same thing about January {LOL}
Anyway, I'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today, ready!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Costume Party Set - Naki Rager

I don't know what's gotten into me lately but I keep grabbing these non-seasonal stamp sets to make non-holiday cards! For today's card, I played with the Newton's Costume Party set to make this fun CAS design ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Costume Party Set - Naki Rager

I originally stamped my kitty's unicorn wig right on his head by masking, but thought paper piecing was so much better and I was right! I colored the wig with rainbow colors and sparkly white. The horn was colored with the same sparkly white and champaign. I colored my kitty light gray so that his fabulous wig would stand out!

I borrowed this sentiment from the Believe in Unicorn Set and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. It's just so perfect for this card, it's scary! {LOL}
To make it even more perfect, I used the Starfield Stencil with Nuvo Glimmer Paste to add more sparkles, I absolutely love it!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Have a lovely day!

Winnie & Walter 4th Birthday Bash Challenge

Wednesday, February 21, 2018

Hi, there lovelies!
I am back with another project I made to enter the Anything But a Card Challenge with Kate over at the Winnie & Walter Blog! They're celebrating their 4th birthday and have all these fun challenges, you should check them out!

I made a tag with the Essentials: Carly Cutaway and the Wish Big with Evelin T Designs Stamp Set.

This big cupcake is so yummy and pretty, isn't it!?
I stamped with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink on watercolor paper and colored only the frosting part then fussy cut it. I then stamped the cupcake again on kraft cardstock with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and added some shadows on the cupcake liner with colored pencils then fussy cut it. The Kraft cupcake liner was placed over the watercolor piece, and I sprinkled several Mini Sparkling Clear Flower Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

This beautiful sentiment was heat embossed with gold embossing powder on vellum, which was die cut with the Essentials: Carly Cutaway. The sentiment is actually straight, I just placed it on my block bent to get this curved look ;-) That teeny tiny heart was die cut with the Essentials: Audrey Cutaways and a little sparkle was added with the WInk of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.

Because I used Kraft cardstock for my liner, I wanted to keep that organic feel throughout my tag, so I chose this cream cardstock for the tag. It looked pretty blah, so I added this maccha green {YUM!} and I think it looks absolutely yummy with the pink and cream! I die cut these delicate leaves from the In Bloom: Paulina's Greenery Cutaways and adhered them alongside the circle line. I also tucked this skinny heart in the same green behind the gold thread along with this adorable teeny tag from the Essentials: Audrey Cutaways. The little YAY sentiment is from the Wish Big with Evelin T Designs Stamp Set, which was heat embossed with rose gold embossing powder.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
I'm going to make a couple more projects so stay tuned!

Winnie & Walter 4th Birthday Bash Challenge

Sunday, February 18, 2018

Hello, Lovelies!
Today I am playing along with one of the fun challenges over at the Winnie & Walter Blog! They're celebrating their 4th birthday this month, and my hubby asked me for a sympathy card so I thought, hey! an excuse to play! {LOL}

Winnie & Walter Anna's Flora Set - Naki Rager

You obviously don't want bright colors or tons of sparkly embellishments on a sympathy card, but it also doesn't need to be boring either. I chose the In Bloom: Anna's Flora stamp set, the flowers in this set are just gorgeous, and tasteful for sympathy cards ;-)

Winnie & Walter Anna's Flora Set - Naki Rager

White chrysanthemums are usually the flower used at funerals in Japan, so it looked appropriate for this occasion (at least to me...). I actually googled them to see the different colors, and this beautiful hot pink stole my heart πŸ’— The tips of petals had some yellow-green, which is absolutely gorgeous! So I had to color mine that way πŸ’š The white one was stamped and colored with Antique Linen Distressed Ink, and the pink one was stamped with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and colored with a few shades of pinks.

Winnie & Walter Anna's Flora Set - Naki Rager

Everybody needs hugs when they're sad, and this sentiment die from The Big, The Bold, and Friends Cutaways was just perfect! My obsession with the sentiment dies started with The Big, The Bold collection, the font is just gorgeous πŸ’— Of course, I LOVE the In a Word collection also, I own most of them {LOL} Anyway, this one was die cut from watercolor paper, mint and hot pink cardstock then all were mounted on top of each other. I did some ombre watercolor on the watercolor paper piece to match the tip of the flower petals. Instead of just a plain base, I die cut the Cover Model: The Leaf Effect Cutaway from Linen Cardstock, isn't it just beautiful!!?

What I love about this design is that it doesn't have to be a sympathy card! Keep the sentiment for another occasion, or change it to something else ;-) Or you can even use a different flower from the same stamp set!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
