Hello,, my friends!
This week Newton's Nook Designs and Therm-O-Web are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to add fun foils and more to your cards using Therm-O-Web products with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! There are prizes too! Read all the way to the end of this post to find out how you can win!
So I made 2 totally different cards today!
Therm-O-Web let us pick some of their fabulous products to play with for this week's collaboration (thank you so much! 💕) and this Brutus Monroe Designer Toner Sheets-Distress Circles was the first item I chose! These toner sheets are acetate sheets with designs printed with toner, and all you need to do is run it through a laminator with a deco foil sheet on top. I foiled this one with Silver Deco Foil Transfer Sheet to make it look like snow ;-)
This beautiful fox couple image is from the Fox Hollow Set, one of my all-time favorites 💛
It was stamped with Light Gray Archival Ink on watercolor paper, I did what I call "sloppy watercoloring" meaning I basically threw colors on the image and didn't care if I went outside the lines ;-) It gives this imperfect and very soft look and I simply love it! When it was all nice and dry, I die cut it with the Coordinating Die Set.
I stamped this sweet little sentiment with blue inks to match the fox's scarf, but the blue I used wasn't even close to the scarf {LOL}, so I stamped it again with a different hue BUT only about 1/3 of the sentiment to give an ombre-ish finish.
I adhered the Iridescent Deco Foil Transfer Sheets on white cardstock and die cut 2 pieces of hills using the Land Borders Die Set. Then I also die cut some birch trees and pine trees using the Forest Scene Builder Die Set, mounted everything (except the lower hill piece) right on the base card, added my distress circle toner sheet, then the hill and the fox couple.
This card was put together fairly quickly because I used leftover pieces from the previous projects ;-)
This gorgeous red foil background is the negative piece from THIS CARD. For this card, this piece was only slightly bigger than A2 size so I trimmed off 1/8" from 1 horizontal side and 1 vertical side, wrapped the excess over on the back and just taped the 4 sides with scotch tape. It was kind of like wrapping a present with a fancy wrapping paper! ;-)
I had this sentiment from the Ornamental Wishes Set heat embossed with gold EP on acetate sheet that was die cut using the Ornament Shaker Die Set, I made this for the October Release but ended up not using it. The acetate by itself on the foiled background made the sentiment hard to see so I die cut another ornament from this jade cardstock and tucked it behind the acetate sheet. Isn't the jade beautiful against the red!?
My pretty little bow was made with the Gina K. Designs Gingham Fancy Ribbon, I just LOVE this gorgeous ribbon! I also used the Gina K. Designs Premium Cardstock Luxury White on both of my cards today. They're really really smooth, I bet they're perfect for coloring, too!
There are more amazing projects today over on the Therm O Web blog so pop over there for more inspiration!
