Hello there!
Happy world card making day!
Today I am playing along 2 challenges:-)

I got my fun colors from the Mixed Media Card Challenge!

Banner-MIX-it

This month's pick is WPlus9, I get to play along with the Mix It Up Challenge over at Ellen Hutson! Yay:-D
Here is my take...;-)

So naturally, you think of Halloween when you see black and orange, right? So I grabbed my only stamp set from WPlus9 the Smart Kitty set (so adorable!) and colored one of the kitties orange. But I just could not go anywhere from there! So I put the pretty kitty aside and thought a little bit...

I decided to use the Positively Chevron Background stamp for the first time! I know! Didn't it come out like 2 years ago!? Anyway, I lightly patted the versamerk ink pad on the stamp, stamped it on watercolor paper, applied the black emboss powder and brushed off some of the powder. Then I applied the Tangerine Tango emboss powder and heated the image. I absolutely loved the result! I then water colored with the Pumpkin Pie ink.

Instead of my orange kitty, I die cut the thanks from WPlus9 in the Howlstooth and Scarybone DSP. I wasn't sure what else to add, then I saw my pretty valentine's tag from Crate Paper, CASEd it with different colors. I needed something from the Ellen Hutson line also, so I die cut those pretty flowers in black and orange. I still needed something else, and remembered about those kraft labels from Maya Road, which was perfect with the black trim!

I glued the flowers down, sewed my tags and sentiment onto the chevron background. I then layered it on the Typeset SDSP and securely sewed them together:-)
This was really fun to make! I had always wanted to mix 2 colors of emboss powder and it turned out awesome! :-D

My notes...
