Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 325

Sunday, August 30, 2015

Hi there!
It is time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Newton's Nook Designs!
I know, my favorite :-D

Layers! Isn't this a fun theme!?
Here is my take...

As soon as they released this "jawesome" shark set, they sold out!
I had to wait for a few weeks but ta-da! It was worth the wait, it's awesome!

My pretty gray kitty is swimming with a shark :-)
I separated his head from his body (this sounds very disturbing...sorry!) that was leaning on this fish bowl, then reattached the tail behind his head with the foam tape.

This sentiment "Jawsome" makes me giggle... *hee hee*
I layered 3 different patterned papers from the Maritime and I am Me DSP packs trying to make it look like waves.

I added some sequins as bubbles, me love! :-D

My notes...

Stamp: Newton's Summer Vacation, Shark Bites (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Pool Party, Watercolor Paper, Maritime DSP, I Am Me DSP
Ink: Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black Stampin' Markers
Accessory: Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge site to check out the rest of the design team members' beautiful Newton Cards!

Inky Paws Challenge

Friday, August 28, 2015

Hello, hello! Happy Friday :-)
Today I have a card I made for Inky Paws Challenge over at Newton's Nook Designs!

Inky Paws #24 Sketch Challenge | Newton's Nook Designs

Fun sketch!
Here is my take ;-)

Don't you just love this adorable snail!?

I colored his shell with Pistachio Pudding but when I colored the bottom of the watercolor paper for some grass, the colors were so close! So I colored with Coastal Cabana over the Pistachio Pudding, and they made that beautiful turquoise color! I love it! Of course I brushed it with the glitter pen ;-) His body was colored with Sahara sand first then So Saffron. I then colored his cheek with Pink Pirouette.
I very lightly colored the sky with Soft Sky then stamped the sentiment.

I punched several chevrons in the 1-1/4" strip, and didn't waste the punched out pieces ;-) That patterned paper is from the Attic Boutique, a really old DSP pack from 2012!

That cute cloud paper under the vellum is from the Sweet Little Things DSP, they're so cute! Th vellum also has clouds on it, can you see that big, white one in the middle?

I added that cute washi tape on the bottom because I didn't like the plain look. It doesn't disturb the sketch, does it?
I am really happy with how this card turned out, the little snail is just way too cute!!

My notes...

Stamp: In Slow Motion (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Soft Sky, Watercolor Paper, Attic Boutique DSP, Sweet Little Things DSP, Vellum with the Clouds (Studio Calico)
Ink: Stazon Black, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Sahara Sand, So Saffron, Strawberry Slush, Soft Sky
Accessory: Sweet Little Things Washi Tape, Wink of Stella Glitter Pen
Tool: Chevron Border Punch

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Thursday, August 27, 2015

Hi there, lovelies!
Today I have a card for Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!

Such a fun sketch!
Here is my take...

I turned the sketch 180 degrees.

I die cut the Dainty Flowers in my 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" watercolor paper, left them in there and colored them. I secured them with pieces of scotch tape on the back. Then die cut 2 more in a separate watercolor paper, colored them, and adhered them on top of the other 2.

I water colored the bottom with Gumball Green, die cut the sentiment, popped it out, die cut  the same sentiment in the Old Olive cardstock, nested the Old Olive sentiment inside the watercolor paper, and layered the watercolored sentiment on top. For the finishing touch, I added a little Crisp Cantaloupe heart sequin.

My notes...

Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Crisp Cantaloupe
Accessory: In-Color Sequin Assortment
Tool: Dainty Flowers and Kudos Wise Dies (Paper Smooches)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Pi-Sights Challenge

Wednesday, August 26, 2015

Hi there, my friends!
I am playing the new Pin-Sights Challenge over at Ellen Hutson today!
The inspirational photo for this one is so pretty!

August Pinsights

Aren't these colors just so bright and beautiful!? So summery!
Here is my take ;-)

I LOVE the dress on the top right corner in the photo!
So I water colored my background with yellow and pink.

Another thing that really caught my eye is the yellow necklace!
Layers of big, bright yellow beads, so fun!
I brushed my "necklace" with the glitter pen for some shimmer.

Here is my jade, I am in love with the new Mint Macaron from Stampin' Up!
I added a white flower on top just like the flowers on the pretty cake. I colored those 3 little pieces with the Blushing Bride Stampin' Marker.

I love the bold colors on this card :-)
I think the white flower really pops against these bright colors!

My notes...

Paper: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride
Tool: Be-You-Tiful and Wild Garden Designer Dies (Essentials by Ellen), Circle Garland Confetti Cut (Reverse Confetti), Wink of Stella Glitter Pen

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Another FMS 200

Monday, August 24, 2015

Hello, hello!
I wanted to play one more time with Freshly Made Sketches for their big 200th celebration

And here is my card...

I just got that sun and cloud die set from Lawn Fawn :-D

I LOVE mixed media! I want to try it myself someday...
But for now, I'll just be a little wanna-be *wink*
I die cut those cute clouds in the Typeset SDSP. They're very thin, probably not much thicker than copy paper so the stitches don't really show that well.
The sun was die cut in Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Patterned Paper.

The raindrops were die cut in another paper from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Paper Pad. The green matches the umbrella images, which is also from the same pad. I distressed the umbrella paper with the distress tool that SU! sold a couple of years ago.

I die cut the sentiment twice in the same yellow paper as the sun, and the same green as the raindrops. I layered them slightly off centered.

My notes...

Stamp: Rotary Alphabet Stamp
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Typeset SDSP, Watercolor Paper, Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Patterned Paper Pad
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Memento Tuxedo Black
Tool: Spring Showers Lawn Cut (Lawn Fawn), Sparkle & Shine Die (W Plus 9), Distress Tool, Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake inspirations Challenge 324

Sunday, August 23, 2015

Hello my crafty friends!
It's Sunday again, my my, time flies!
This week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge is sponsored by My Grafico.

Isn't this color combo just beautiful!?
So summery and tropical!
The sponsor has provided us with some fun dig images this week, and her is my card.

Isn't he just adorable!?
What do you think of when you hear a "parrot"? Their fun chit-chat, right!?
So that was my inspiration. My fabulous jade parrot is on his little swing saying hello to you!

I printed him on the Very Vanilla Patterned paper because I was having such a difficult time with my printer! Ugh!! DSP is thin enough to go through the printer but thicker than copy paper. I am kind of loving the fun polka dots coming through too! I colored him with Coastal Cabana, Perfect Plum, and More Mustard.

Those fun speech bubbles are from this patterned paper, I simply cut them out of it.
The background is a bunch of speech bubbles without the sentiments inside from the Just Sayin' set.
Those feathers are just for the photo shoot. *hee hee*

My notes...

Stamp: Just Sayin', Tropical Birds (My Grafico)
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Very Vanilla DSP Stack (Retired patterns), Best of Crate paper Patterned Paper Pack
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Perfect Plum, More Mustard, Baked Brown Sugar
Accessory: Hemp Twine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge site and check out what the rest of the design team have made!

Back to School!

Saturday, August 22, 2015

Hi there, lovelies :-)
Today I am playing along with 2 challenges!

Back to school theme for Sparkle and Shine Challenge

My first time playing Lawnscaping Challenge
And here is my card ;-)

The colors were inspired by the Sparkle and Shine Challenge

How cute are these crayon guys!?
I heat embossed them with this black emboss powder with glitter, but they didn't really get the glitter...what the heck!?

I stamped a few dates on the Typeset SDSP making it look like it's a library card. Then I adhered some alphabets and numbers, then some loops as doodling. I used the same colors as the crayons.

I don't know if you noticed in the back to school photo, but there are rulers in one of the mason jars. I have many washi tapes from Japan and I thought this ruler/measuring tape was so cute on this card. Yes, it's in centimeters *Ha Ha*

I haven't finished my oldest son's school supply shopping! *eeeek*
Part of the reason is probably because I don't even want to think about getting up early in the morning to send him off to school...I HATE mornings! I know, I'm awful...;-p

My notes...

Stamp: Color My World (Lawn Fawn), Date Stamp (Target $1 Shelf)
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Gumball Green, Typeset SDSP, Stack with Love DSP Stack, Notebook Paper (Lawn Fawn)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Accessory: Ruler Washi Tape (MT from Japan)
Tool: Heat Tool, Black Emboss Powder (Ranger), Color My World Lawn Cut (Lawn Fawn), Glasses Wise Cut (Paper Smooches), Die-namics Loops Border, Emmitt Alphabet and Number (My Favorite Things)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Freshly Made Sketches 200

Friday, August 21, 2015

Hello, Hello!
One of my favorite challenges Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th post with many fabulous sponsors! So of course I am playing;-)

You should check out their site to see all the samples that the DTs from FMS and the sponsors made, fabulous!
And here is my take...

The sketch is very simple, that means it's all up to you!
I wasn't sure if I wanted to go crazy with lots of layers and embellishments, but decided on simple and elegant for this big celebration! ;-)

I hadn't played with my Winnie & Walter goodies for a while, and since they're one of the sponsors, my card #1 (Yes, I want to play at least one more!) for this challenge is with everything W&W!
I stamped the pretty flower and some leaves on vellum with versamark then heat embossed with the enchanted gold emboss powder for a delicate look. Then die cut them and another flower in Blushing Bride. So pretty, isn't it!? :-)

That pretty 1/4" border was made with the Essentials: Audrey Cutaways.
The Cheers die is just perfect for this occasion ;-) I die cut in Patterned Vellum, it's fun but was a bit hard to see on my white background. So I stamped some chevrons with woodgrain in Blushing Bride on my base.

Those teeny tiny hearts are from the border I die cut. They were too cute to just throw away so I was saving them, and I am glad I did! *wink* Aren't they just so dainty and cute!? *LOVE*

My notes...

Stamp: The Big, The Bold, and Extra, V for Chevron (Winnie & Walter)
paper: Thick Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Vellum, Gold Fancy Designer Vellum, Gold Foil Sheet
Ink: Blushing Bride, Versamark
Accessory: 4 mm Gold Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Heat Tool, Enchanted Gold Emboss Powder (Ranger), The Big, The Bold, and Extra, In a Word: Cheers, Essentials: Audrey Cutaways (Winnie & Walter)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Sketch For You To Try

Thursday, August 20, 2015

Hi my lovelies!
I've been having difficulty finding time to craft lately, my mad house keeps me so busy! But I made some time (meaning I slacked off on some housework...*Hee Hee*) and made this card for Sketch For You To Try Challenge over at Reverse Confetti. They were having a sale last week, plus I had $20 credit from winning the last challenge so I did some shopping! And I was very excited to play with my new goodies!

AUGUST15_SFYTT

A very clean sketch! Their DT members have seriously fabulous samples/inspirations for you:-) Here is my take...

They have these monkey set and lion set that I really love, they're SO adorable! I couldn't just pick one because #1 They're cute #2 the matching die sets have some nice accessory pieces that I really wanted... So yes, I ordered them both...and am so glad I did!

The pile of presents and balloons are from the Monkey Business set, and the bunting is from the Leaping Lions set. The presents and the balloons were stamped in Smokey Slate then water colored. I used the gold marker to color 2 of the ribbons on the presents. The bunting was all stamped, the set has polka dots and stripes to stamp inside each flag.

Those lovely colored vellum are from Studio Calico, I cut them all into 1' x 1-1/4" strips then die cut them with the Lulu Fringe Cutaway, my absolute favorite! ;-) The patterned paper underneath is the All is Calm DSP from the Occasions Catalog last year, I finally opened it for this card *Ha Ha* I know, I really am a paper hoarder!

The birthday die is from the Fancy Words Confetti Cut. I am totally in love with this set! The font is so lovely :-D
For my finishing touch, I added some sequins as usual. It's amazing how I cannot stay away from those shinny little guys! I actually don't own that much (yet)...;-)

My notes...

Stamp: Monkey Business, Leaping Lions (Reverse Confetti)
Paper: Thick Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, Gold Foil Sheet, All is Calm DSP, I am Me DSP, Colored Vellum (Studio Calico)
Ink: Smokey Slate, So Saffron, Soft Sky, Coastal Cabana Stampin' Markers and Ink Pads, Gold Markers

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 323

Sunday, August 16, 2015

Hello there!
It's another Sunday and time for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Kenny K.

Oooh, such pretty cupcakes! I don't think I could eat them!

When I think of glam, I see shinny jewels, beautiful silk gowns, elegant decorations... Basically a lot of BLING!

Kenny K provided a few digi images for us to use, and I picked this cute, sassy fish.
I colored her with the gold glitter pen, but you really can't see even in person under that plastic :-( But I think she looks fabulous in her sparkly ocean!

That beautiful silver love is from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open book Die set.

I used one of the plastic bags that acrylic stamps come in. It was sealed with the Fuse Tool but it popped open so I decided to sew even though stitches don't look very glam.

My notes...

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Typeset SDSP, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink: Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Markers, Wink of Stella Gold Glitter Pen
Accessory: 4 mm Gold Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh), Pink Sequin and Confetti Mix (Amazon), Tiny Confetti (Martha Stewart), Glitter Washi Tape (3M)
Tool: Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open Book Die Set (American Craft), Kudos Wise Die (Paper Smooches), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's all head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge site and check out what the rest of the team have created!
