Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge #3

Friday, August 31, 2012

Hi there! Welcome to another Naki & Nina's Double Dare Challenge!

This week's picks were very fun to play with!

                     Butterflies                   Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP
                    (Stamps or punches or dies)

Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP ( just LOVE the name!!) is my absolute favorite! Each design is so elegant and chic, but very fun! So on this card, I went for an elegant look with an edgy and modern twist:-) The black butterfly was embossed with the Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The big Tangerine Tango butterfly was heat embossed with the Tangerine Tango Emboss Powder on the Basic Black Card Stock for a different texture. I love the shiny orange on the black, so chic! I also embossed the base card with the Designer Frames Folder to make it look like a piece of art came to a life.

I kept it simple but added a lot of details, and I am very happy with this card:-)

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Papillon Potpourri
Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP

Clean and Simple Card Challenge

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

I want to try more challenges and thought CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge on SCS might be a fun one to start with, and this week's theme is "Summer Treats".
I love one of the cards that my fellow Pretty Pal and good friend, Nina Dee made, and I have wanted to make a card with zigzags for awhile and here it is!

When I was growing up, my family and I used to go to the beach every summer. My siblings, friends, and I would be in the ocean all day long, and we would all get so tanned! So the summer treats to me is that beach we used to go:-) and these little zigzag stripes I made with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies are the waves in the ocean:-)

I used the Summer Starfruit Card Stock, well, because of the name! And it looks fabulous with the blues!

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Itty Bitty Banners, A Fitting Occasion
Paper: Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Midnight Muse
Ink: Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse
Tool: Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies, Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, Adoring Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Modern Labels, Curly Labels, Scallop Oval, and 1-1/4" Circle Punches
Secret Ingredient: Good summer memories:-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
