Pals Paper Arts Chellenge/Sneak Peek

Friday, December 21, 2012

I finally received my Spring Catalog demo pre-order items yesterday (I know, I was a little late!) and made this card to give my husband for our wedding anniversary next week:-) This could easily a Valentine's Day card too:-)

PPA149 December 20

This lovely sketch from so very talented Margaret Moody for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge was just perfect to showcase all the goodies from the Spring Catalog!

The LOVE ticket and the rose are from the Artisan Embellishments Kit. This kit is full of sweet accessories! Absolutely LOVE it:-) The heart doily was heat embossed with the white Stampin' Emboss Powder then die cut with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. The butterfly was also heat embossed, but in the new Pool Party Emboss Powder! It's one of my favorite colors and I was so excited! Then it was punched out with the new Bitty Butterfly Punch:-)

Those hearts are also from the Hearts a Flutter set, the stamp set and the framelits will be available as a bundle:-) Those little stitches are embossed with the new Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder. The Designer Series Paper above the Very Vanilla piece is, you guessed it, from the new Specialty DSP, More Amore. Oh so sweet and lovely...:-)

So what did you think of all the new goodies!? This is just a small part of it, I am planning on sharing more with you:-)

Freshly Made SKetches

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Hi there! Are you ready for a holiday!? Not me...ha ha:-D Still shopping...
I finally mailed my holiday cards out yesterday, but needed one more so I went to Freshly Made Sketches to get some ideas...

Very interesting...isn't it? This is why I love this challenge, I would never come up with a sketch like this on my own!

Silent Night is my favorite Christmas song:-) I heat embossed it with the Gold Emboss powder and trimmed it in a shape of a tree. I thought the strip of the Music Notes Wheel Stamp would go perfectly with this:-) This card is pretty neutral, so I added the Cherry Cobbler flower and a row of pearls.

Here is the inside. I dipped the tree and the star stamps in the Crumb Cake Ink Pad then stamped on my Grid Paper twice before stamping on my card to get this very light, soft image.

My Notes...

Stamp set: Evergreen, More Merry Messages, Music Notes Wheeler
Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Versamark
Accessory: Pearl Basic Jewels
Tool: Itty Bitty Shapes and Merry Minis Punch Packs, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Window Collection Framelits Die, Perfectly Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Gold and Early Espresso Stampin' Emboss Powder, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it:-)

Today I am playing two challenges together, Freshly Made Sketches and The Play Date Cafe Challenge!

The colors from the Play Date Cafe played a big part on this card. My picks are Gumball Green, Primerose Petals, and Real Red.

My red bird got all dressed up for a holiday, sitting pretty on a doily:-)

I thought the sketch was very simple yet elegant:-) It actually took me a very long time to come up with this design! I hope you like it:-)

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 17

Saturday, December 15, 2012

Welcome to Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge!
This is going to be the last NNDDC of 2012!

I'll be very honest with you, this one was very tough for me!
And here is why...

Use only 2 colors!
(Card stock, Ink, Embellishments...everything in 2 colors!)

Use Twines

Now do you see why it was so hard!? These picks really limited our supplies!

My color chose was Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.
I wanted to be creative with the Twine and this is what I did. Since the Twine is so thin, it was a little difficult to make these rolled up flowers. I used 1/2" Glue Dots (None SU!) for them.

I really love the Early Espresso Stampin' Emboss Powder... So chocolaty... YUM!

The Candlelight Specialty Designer Series Paper adds an instant WOW factor! What a gorgeous paper...! White on white looks so elegant too, doesn't it?

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Perfectly Penned
Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Candlelight SDSP
Ink: Versamark
Accessory: Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Pearl Basic Jewels
Tool: Blossom Party Originals Die, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Early Espresso Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals
Secret Ingredient: DSP is your best friend!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's go check out what Nina has created:-)

We will be back next year, on January 5th with another great challenge!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Once again, I am playing along the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge

Just look at these adorable guys!

I decided to make three snowmen just like those cute cupcakes.  I used the snowman from the Button Buddies set, the tie from A Fitting Occasion set, and the pointy knit hat from the Embellished Events. The rest of the accessories are made with punches or Paper Snip.

My Crumb Cake base card was embossed with the Perfectly Polka Dots Folder mimicking some falling snow. I didn't want to just put the sentiment all by itself so I added the snowflake and the Whisper White Designer button with the Linen Thread.

My snowmen are the focal point of this card so I kept it very simple, but I put a lot of efforts to those guys...:-)

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Button Buddies, Embellished Events, A Fitting Occasion
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Primerose Petals, More Mustard
Ink: Basic Gray, Early Espresso, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Primerose Petals, More Mustard Stampin' Write Markers
Accessory: Linen Thread, Neutral Designer Button, Pearl Basic Jewels
Tool: Snow Flurry Bigz Die, Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Perfectly Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder,  Merry Minis and Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Packs, Owl Builder Punch, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals
Secret Ingredient: Adorable Snowmen:-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Today I am sharing some Christmas tags with you:-) I made these for my mother-in-law to go with her homemade Christmas cookies that she gives away!

Lately, I am drawn to girly stuff, and this doily is just so pretty! Why not use as a tag!? :-)

I just got the Evergreen stamp set, I hadn't realized that one of the tree images is my favorite Christmas song, Silent Night, until recently! Ha ha:-D

I thought it might be fun to use one of the Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Dies for a tag. You get to open it like a little present;-) I even added those tiny tags like a real present:-)

Here is the back of the Evergreen tag and the Peekaboo tag.

This one is a 2"x2" mini card/tag. This Chocolate Chip owl got to dress up with a Santa suit and a party hat. The Santa suit is from the Tags Til Christmas set. I simply stamp the image, then used the Owl Builder Punch.

The Play Date Cafe Challenge

Monday, December 10, 2012

As I have said a few time in my previous posts, I want to participate in more challenges.
And today, I am playing the Play Date Cafe Challenge for the first time!

What a stunning colors combo! I used Stampin' Up! Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, and Crumb Cake. I was immediately drawn to the image on the left upper corner, and had my design;-)

I knew the perfect stamp set, Bright Blossoms! I used the Stamp-a-majig to stack up the leaves in Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip. I wanted to keep this card very CAS so no embossing, no Stampin' Dimensionals, no blings!

LOVE this organic, airy feel this card gives:-)

My Recipe for This Card
Stamp set: Bright Blossoms, Embellished Events
Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue
Ink: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip
Accessory: Crumb Cake 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon
Tool: 3/4" and 1/2" Circle Punches, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack
Secret Ingredient: Trying something new:-)

Thank you so  much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the Pals December Celebrations Blog Hop!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 16

Saturday, December 8, 2012

Welcome to Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge!
We have another interesting combo for you today:-)

CASE each other's card

Use Snow (Snowflakes, Snowmen, Anything that is snow!)

So here is the card I choose from Nina's blog. It just took my breath away when I saw this! So simple but those colorful flowers are so bold and beautiful on the navy base...just gorgeous!

So I used snowflakes instead of the flowers. The smallest flake from the Snow Flurry Bigz Die looks like something is missing... I tried a couple things first, but a star looked right:-)

I picked several cards from Nina's blog but this one worked perfectly with the snowflakes:-) I don't CASE a lot, but I will have to CASE the rest of my picks because they are just all too lovely not to! Thanks Nina, for your beautiful inspirations!

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Embellished Events
Paper: Midnight Muse, Pool Party, Basic Gray, Very Vanilla
Ink: Midnight Muse
Accessory: Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Tool: Snow Flurry Bigz Die, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Merry Minis Punch Pack
Secret Ingredient: A very talented friend;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's all go see which of my cards Nina decided to CASE and add her magic...
