Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

Last Friday was the last day of elementary school (my youngest's pre-school ends today) and I wanted to give the teachers a little gift, and I chose little plants for them to enjoy during the break ;-) So I made some fun shaker tags to dress them up a bit!

Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

I didn't have any particular stamp set on my mind for this project so I flipped through my NND stash and the Umbrella Pals Set caught my eye ;-) I thought this sentiment was just perfect for all the summer fun to come! This one has this cute yellow frog umbrella. I put a lot of sequins and bead seeds along with a few clouds that I die cut using the little cloud dies from the Winston Takes Flight Die Set.

Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

This one has a cute blue raccoon umbrella 💙
ALl the umbrella images were watercolored and die cut using the coordinating die set.

Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

This one has an adorable minty green panda 💚
The sentiment was heat embossed on the inside of the tags.

This one has a sweet pink kitty umbrella 💗

I needed 4 tags: one for my oldest's teacher (I LOVED her and wish she could be his teacher again next year!!!), and three more for the twins' teacher, special ed teacher (they were in the integrating class), and an aide.
This design can be easily used on a card, or can be for any occasions!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Inky Paws Challenge 100th Challenge!

Wednesday, June 26, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
The Inky Paws Challenge is celebrating its 100th challenge with a super fun theme and we are joining in the fun today! "Copycat" has appeared on the IPC site
The rule is to simply pick your favorite theme or color or sketch from the previous challenges OR the special category "your favorite NND product", and create something fun  ;-)

Inky Paws Challenge #19 | Watercolor | Newton's Nook Designs

I picked #19 Use Watercolor!
This was the very first IPC I ever played along (just for fun, check out the card I created back in 2015 HERE).
It wasn't just my first IPC but also the first time I tried watercolor!!! I had always been afraid of watercolor because I totally sucked while in school! I didn't even own any watercolor, I used to use reinkers for my ink pads!

Anyway, here is my take...;-)

Newton Dreams of Paris Set - Naki Rager

I figured I'd use the same stamp set used for the original challenge, which is the Newton Dreams of Paris Set ;-) This was one of the first sets I ordered and it is still one of my fave sets 💚

Newton Dreams of Paris Set - Naki Rager

I fell in love with Jen's adorable images and wanted to play IPC even though it was a watercolor theme!
I think it is safe to say that my watercolor skills have improved since then...{LOL}
I stamped this adorable image with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper and colored using various watercolor media, then it was die cut using the Newton Dreams of Paris Die Set. I colored this kitty like my Bramble, I just LOVE his unique marking!

Newton Dreams of Paris Set - Naki Rager

One of my all-time-faves the Essential Alphabet Die Set is perfect for creating your own custom sentiments and for today's card, "Meowci" (instead of merci) seemed fun and appropriate ;-)

Newton Dreams of Paris Set - Naki Rager

Before popping on my kitty with some foam tape, I die cut a puffy cloud using the Sky Borders Die Set, adhered it on the top of the watercolored panel.  I added several clear sequins in various sizes and done!

One lucky winner from each category will win a $25 store credit to the NND shop! So pick your favorite, get your paws inky, and link up your gorgeous projects by Friday, June 28th at midnight CST.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Make sure to play along and share with us!

Did you just literally squeal!!?
That is a totally normal reaction to an adorable set such as this one ;-)
This is like NND all-star with all of Jen's super cute critters!
Here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Woodland Picnic Set - Naki Rager

I used to only color what I needed after coming up with designs, but I tried coloring all the images one day and that's actually helped me speed up my process a bit. Don't give me a wrong, I am still a very slow crafter {LOL} Anyway, I just had to have everyone on the same card 😍

Newton's Nook Designs Woodland Picnic Set - Naki Rager

Here is a close up of the deer, fox, and squirrel (my guy became a chipmunk).
How adorable are they!? Now you understand why I HAD to have them all on one card...{LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Woodland Picnic Set - Naki Rager

Here are Winston and a sweet bunny 💗
That bunny's face is priceless, she is so happy with her little cupcake 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Woodland Picnic Set - Naki Rager

I LOVE this sentiment!
It was heat embossed with copper EP.

Newton's Nook Designs Woodland Picnic Set - Naki Rager

These wee ants are totally killing me!!!
They were heat embossed with black EP to mimic their shiny hard bodies.

Newton's Nook Designs Woodland Picnic Set - Naki Rager

I die cut my 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" watercolor panel with the hill die from the Land Borders Die Set. The top part was sponged blue for the sky and the bottom part was sponged green for grassy fields. Several copper sequins were sprinkled as they were little sunbeams hitting the gang ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 3

Wednesday, June 12, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
It is time for the Newton's Nook Designs June Release already!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 14th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is the day three of the reveal and we are showcasing the Newton's Hangs Out and Newton's Picnic Stamp Sets along with their coordinating die sets ;-)

Ohhh my goodness 💙💚💛
I am loving Newton's eyes, he is like "Hmmm... Now what..." Poor kitty!!!

Newton is getting into lots of trouble this month!
First, he gets stuck on a tree, then he dives upside-down into the picnic basket, such a naughty boy! {LOL}
Okay, here is my take...;-)
Sorry, this is going to be very photo heavy!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton hangs Out Set - Naki Rager

My tuxedo brothers are 12 years old now and they'd rather just chill all day, but my 8 month-old-mischievous-kitty Bramble would TOTALLY get himself in this situation if he ever gets a chance! {LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton hangs Out Set - Naki Rager

I colored this naughty kitty just like my Bramble, he is brown with black tiger-ish stripes all over his head and body, but most of his tail has light gray x black stripes, which looks like a Bengal's tail! (I LOVE it!) I always trace the eyes after I am all done coloring so that I wouldn't smudge them, and for this one, I messed it up! My quick fix was to try googlie eyes and holy macaroni! It gives him the totally-freaked-out-look and I LOVE it so much!!! {LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton hangs Out Set - Naki Rager

I stamped only the tree part again to create a very tall one. Sorry, Bramble {LOL}
I heat embossed the "Hang in there" (so cute!), and die cut 3 clouds using the little cloud die that comes in the coordinating die set and popped them on my lightly colored sky.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Picnic Set - Naki Rager

My Bramble is mischievous and rambunxious just like any other kittens, and this image was something that he would totally do so there he is again {LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Picnic Set - Naki Rager

I was really looking forward to coloring this adorable image and Jen did not disappoint me at all!
That little kitty bottom, some fruits, drinks, and snacks... I did some no-line watercoloring and I enjoyed it so very much 😇 It was die cut using the coordinating die, I just love how it cuts out little holes so that you can see the background through them! It gives an extra dimension ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Picnic Set - Naki Rager

Such a simple but super fun sentiment, it was heat embossed with dark brown EP.
The little butterfly is also in the stamp/die sets. These teeny images can be used as embellishments like I did here, or part of sceneries.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Picnic Set - Naki Rager

I colored 2 of the dragonflies.
I love dragonflies, the name itself is so awesome!
But mostly I love their beautiful wings 💙

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Picnic Set - Naki Rager

I created the background with Distress Oxide Inks then added 2 layers of grass, which were die cut using the grass die from the Land Borders Die Set. This is a pretty simple design so I added dimensions by layering the grass and popping the stamped images with foam tape. I like my sequins but for this card, I wanted to keep the soft, whimsical feel, what do you think???

{Would you like to win the “Newton Hangs Out” or the “Newton’s Picnic” Stamp Set?}

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 2

Tuesday, June 11, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
It is time for the Newton's Nook Designs June Release already!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 14th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is the day two of the reveal and we are showcasing the Say Woof Stamp Set and Woof Stencil 🐶

You probably spotted the Woof sentiment die yesterday and had a feeling we were going to have a dog set, didn't you!? Well, here it is! Today is all about K-9s ;-)

Yup!
The new Woof Stencil 💛
Here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Say Woof Set - Naki Rager

The color scheme for this card is a lot darker than my usual style, but I think of browns when I hear dogs.

Newton's Nook Designs Say Woof Set - Naki Rager

This fun sentiment was heat embossed with white EP on Kraft, which was die cut with the stitched circle die from the Frames Squared Die Set. I use Stampin' Up! cardstock (other than white) and have always loved these 3 shades of browns 💛

Newton's Nook Designs Say Woof Set - Naki Rager

I made a little shaker using the new Pawprint Shaker Die Set and filled up the inside with several bones, which are one of the confetti comes with the die set ;-) Aren't they just adorable!!?

Newton's Nook Designs Say Woof Set - Naki Rager

As you can see, the background was created with the new Woof Stencil and embossing paste.
I added the light blue ribbon and little "button" as a pop of color, and it is mimicking a dog collar ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Say Woof Set - Naki Rager

My second card is super CAS!
I just LOVE those teeny confetti pieces especially the doghouse 💙

Newton's Nook Designs Say Woof Set - Naki Rager

I die cut 3 doghouses and gave one of them a dog bone and a wee heart, which are also from the Pawprint Shaker Die Set, and paired with this adorable sentiment from the new Say Woof Set ;-) The white panel was die cut using the postage frame die from the Framework Die Set.

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 1

Monday, June 10, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
It is time for the Newton's Nook Designs June Release already!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 14th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is the day one of the reveal and we are showcasing the Cat-itude Stamp Set, Pawprint Shaker Die Set, and Meow Stencil! They sound awesome, right!!?

These super fun and adorable sentiments fit right inside the paw of the shaker die!
The new Pawprint Shaker Die Set comes with all those fun little confetti as well 💗

So we all know and love the Newton's Nook Designs' fabulous, unique stencil line, don't we?
Well, isn't this new Meow Stencil an awesome addition to the collection!!?
Okay, let's see what I created...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cat-itude Set - Naki Rager

I am so sorry to disappoint you but this is not a shaker!

Newton's Nook Designs Cat-itude Set - Naki Rager

I really really wanted to play with the Meow Stencil first!
I die cut the stitched square panel using the Frames Squared Die Set then created this fun background with the Meow Stencil and embossing paste. Those teeny fish bone and heart are some of the confetti from the Pawprint Shaker Die Set. They can be cute little embellishments like sequins ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cat-itude Set - Naki Rager

I used the big paw die with the toe beans alone, and here is one of the sentiments from the Cat-itude Stamp Set ;-) That little kitty face is also one of the confetti, isn't it adorable!?

Newton's Nook Designs Cat-itude Set - Naki Rager

I kept this card pretty simple so that the square panel and kitty toe beans are truly the focal point ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cat-itude Set - Naki Rager

For my second card of the day, the new Cat-itude Stamp Set is playing more of a supporting role ;-)
I thought it might be fun to pair with the Newton's Block Party Stamp Set to frame another sentiment from the Cat-itude Stamp Set.

I also made that little shaker using the Pawprint Shaker Die Set by die cutting 7 of the pawprint, and 2 of the solid paw out of acetate to create windows on both sides ;-) The fun Meow sentiment die is also from the new Pawprint Shaker Die Set. It is simply fun to shake it {LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Cat-itude Set - Naki Rager

I heat embossed the image with light gray EP on watercolor paper and "sloppy watercolor"ed it. Then the sentiment was heat embossed with gold EP right in the center, and I added some of the little confetti die cut out of copper foil paper (it looks more rose gold and I LOVE it 💗). The scalloped square panel was die cut using the Frames Squared Die Set.
