Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 369

Sunday, July 31, 2016

Hi there, happy Sunday!
It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is MyGrafico!

They have SO MANY cute images, I'm pretty sure you all would find something you like ;-)

Such a fun theme, isn't it!?
Here is my take...;-)

Ahhh, who loves great outdoor!?
The cupcake with the fire and roasting marshmallow is just too cute!!!
I have camped only once and it was not the best experience so I actually don't like camping myself though...lol

My parents-in-law love camping and they own this huge RV!
I might go with them if their RV looked super cute like this one;-)
The sponsor generously provided us some digi images, thank you!
This camper is one of the clip art, all I had to do was print and fussy cut!

Oh my goodness, isn't this owl just adorable!!?
I printed him and colored in with my Spectrum Noir markers, then fussy cut.
I thought this little sentiment was just perfect for him!
It was heat embossed in white on patterned paper, then fussy cut.

One thing I did enjoy on my only camping trip was the beautiful starry sky ;-)
I used the stencil and embossing paste for the trees, added some star sequins, and popped a border of grass to create a great outdoor scene at night ;-)
I think it turned out pretty cute!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 368

Sunday, July 24, 2016

Hi there, Happy Sunday!
Are you ready for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!?
This week's sponsor is A Day For Daisies!!!

I absolutely LOVE their dainty, beautiful images!

We have this beautiful color combo for you this week!
Aren't these colors so yummy and divine together!!?
Here is my take...

Sami, the owner of A Day For Daisies, very generously provided us our choice of an image to each DT member, thank you so much!
Now, it is VERY difficult to just pick one image from their shop (seriously!), but I managed to pick this lovely image!

This darling digi image is called "Holding a Flower".
The colors were just perfect! I printed the image on my watercolor paper and water colored it (surprise! LOL) I know that the color on the cupcake photo is purple, but when I hear magenta, I see more of pink, so that's what I used on the flowers and the sentiment.

I framed this beautiful fairy with glossy white cardstock (yeah, it's kind of my favorite thing to do these days...lol) and mounted on the vellum with teeny tiny flowers. This vellum was just perfect, it's so soft, and I was still able to add more navy.
Several sequins were added, of course...;-)

*my notes*
Stamp: Holding a Flower (A Day For Daisies)
Paper: Night of Navy, Botanical Designer Vellum Pack (SU!), Glossy White Cardstock (Ranger), Watercolor Paper
Ink: Zig Clean Color Brush
Accessory: Sparkling Clear Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Scallop Rectangle Die (Pretty Pink Posh), Wonderful Words Die (Concord & 9th)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now don't forget to head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog!

Inky Paws Challenge 34

Friday, July 22, 2016

Hello there, Happy Friday!
We have a new Inky Paw Challenge starting today over at the Newton's Nook Designs Blog, and I joined the fun!

Now you see why I had to play along!?
Here is my summer card...;-)

I have so many fond memories of playing on the beach when I was growing up!
I actually didn't build sand castles, or sleep in a hammock like these pretty kitties tho *Hee Hee*

I stamped the kitty in a hammock from the Aloha Newton set, and the kitty building a sand castle from the Newton's Summer Vacations set with Sahara Sand on watercolor paper, and water colored. I gave both kitties nice tans with Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake, and the rest was colored with my Zig Clean Color Brushe set.  I heat embossed the sentiment with Pool Party, then popped the coconut drink next to it.

I added a piece of distress paper that was die cut with some foam tape to add some texture and dimension. I was actually done there but the right side needed some colors so I popped the bucket image from the Newton's Summer Vacation set.
I don't need to tell you about the sequins, right!? *Hee Hee*

*my notes*
Stamp: Aloha Newtons, Newton's Summer Vacations (Newton's Nook Designs)

Newton's Nook Designs

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

Hi there, happy Tuesday!
Today I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog
Did you all enjoy their huge release last week!?
I was so inspired by the DT members, such talented ladies!

Here is my card ;-)

I just got the Flower Garden set, was dying to color this beautiful sunflower!
Well, I get carried away when watercoloring, I added too many colors and it didn't look right! *HaHaHa*

So when something like that happens, I come up with a totally different design *LOL*
I heat embossed this beauty and that gorgeous sentiment (I LOVE that font! So beautiful!!) on vellum, stamped another flower on watercolor paper and very roughly colored it. I then lined up both images and very carefully trimmed them, and added the pretty frame on top. I LOVE the soft look the vellum gives!

I love sunflowers because they stand so tall and fallow the sun, just beautiful :-)
So I thought this cute cloud paper would look really good with it!
I sewed it directly on to my base, then added a little linen thread to give a rustic feel to this card ;-)

*my notes*
Stamp: Flower Garden (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Sweet Lil' Things DSP, Vellum (SU!), Glossy White Cardstock (Ranger), Watercolor Paper
Ink: Versamark, Zig Clean Color Brush
Accessory: Sparkling Clear Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh), Linen Thread (SU!)
Tool: Scallop Rectangle Die (Pretty Pink Posh), Heat Tool, White Emboss Powder (SU!), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 367

Sunday, July 17, 2016

Hi there, happy Sunday!
It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Your Next Stamp!
Who doesn't love their fun, adorable stamps and dies!

I LOVE this theme, so fun!
And Your Next Stamp has a lot of tropical images, perfect!
Here is my take...

Yeah, I know! No pineapples!
Well, I used a pineapple last week, and look what I made with the Create an Ocean Scene Die set from YNS!

I also spotted this lovely Island Silhouette stamp :-)
I stamped it with Sahara Sand then water colored.
I die cut this ocean blue vellum with this wavy die that came with the Create an Ocean Scene Die set, sewed it down right on the island.

Well, can I tell you how much fun I had making this little ocean scene!?
I die cut every creature you see on my card, aren't they just so darn cute!?
The octopus, the turtle, the puffer, and the little fish don't just cut, but also emboss details like their little fins and faces! So fun!

The sentiment aloha is from YNS also. I mean it's perfect for this tropical island scenery, right!? I also added some star sequins on the live rocks like they're little sea stars, and a bunch of sparkling sequins as air bubbles.
I love how this turned out, and I really enjoyed making this fun card!

*my notes*

Stamp: Island Silhouette (Your Next Stamp)
Paper: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie (SU!), Blue Vellum (Studio Calico), Watercolor Paper
Ink: Gumball Green, Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, Sahara Sand, Pistachio Pudding, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky (SU!)
Accessory: Sparkling Clear and Tiny Gold Star Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)

Newton's Nook Designs 3 Year Celebration Release - Aloha Newton & Hibiscus Die

Thursday, July 14, 2016

Hello lovelies!
Welcome to the final day of the Newton's Nook Designs 3 Year Celebration Release!
I hope you have been enjoying the reveal all week!
Didn't Jennifer do a fabulous job designing all the beautiful new sets!?
Well, I think we saved the best for the big finale today!!!

I truly look forward to new kitty sets every month, and I don't know how Jen does it but she makes me say "Oh my gosh! This is the cutest set ever!" everytime! *LOL*

I am not sure if I have a word for this beautiful die...
I mean, look at this!!!

Okay, I made two cards with each set, ready!? ;-)

I know, I'm sorry I am so predictable...
But I HAD to water color this cutie!!! *LOL*

My kitty is all nice and tanned, relaxing in this beautiful flower bed!
She was SO MUCH FUN to color!!!
I borrowed the leaf image from the Tiki Time set to make a nice, comfy bed for her ;-)

I also borrowed the little flower that is stamped all over on the base with purple, and the sentiment from the Tiki Time set. Isn't the purple just beautiful with the poppy hibiscus and greens!?

Now my hibiscus card ;-)

I LOVE this die so much, I decided to go banana with it!

It was a lot of cranking the handle on the big shot!
I die cut the flowers from Poppy Parade and Very Vanilla cardstock.
I pooped the pretty flowers with different levels of foam tape.

The background was created with the dry paint, I sprinkled some chartreuse on watercolor paper then spritzed some water, done! The sentiment was die cut from the Pool Party Cardstock then was brushed with the clear glitter pen.

Newton's Nook Designs 3 Year Celebration Release - Paradise Palms

Wednesday, July 13, 2016

Hello lovely Newton lovers!
All the new sets will be available for purchase this Friday the 15th over at Newton's Nook Designs, so enjoy the fabulous samples by the design team before you decide which ones to get! Hee Hee;-)

Today we are showcasing this beautiful silhouette stamp set Paradise Palms!
Isn't it just gorgeous!?
Here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Paradise Palms Set - Naki Rager

Awww, don't you just wish you were sitting on the beach watching this beautiful sunset!?
First I water colored very lightly with orange where the sun rays would be, then placed my stencil and went over it with a paint brush. The first orange was a bit too light so I added more orange in between the rays.

Newton's Nook Designs Paradise Palms Set - Naki Rager

I stamped the 2 palm trees on an island image with versamark then randomly stamped the island image several times with also versamark. The stamped images were heat embossed with black to make a silhouette.

Newton's Nook Designs Paradise Palms Set - Naki Rager

I LOVE this sentiment! It sounds like a fabulous way of life, doesn't it!?

Newton's Nook Designs Paradise Palms Set - Naki Rager

I decided to create the ocean because of the sentiment ;-)
It was water colored (of course) Then die cut with the Wonky Stitches.
Some copper sequins were added, and this beautiful sunset scene was mounted on this vellum with wavy patterns. I LOVE it!
