Newton's Nook Designs

Hello, lovelies!
I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today! Woo Hoo!
Can you believe today is the last of January!? Seriously, where does time go!?
Hope you all got your favorites from the NND January release and had some time to play with them ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

Honestly, every set from Newton's Nook Designs is my fave, but this adorable Deer Friend set, which is one of the newly released sets this month, totally stole my heart 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

This sleeping fawn is just so peaceful and sweet, I'm simply in LOVE with this image 💗
So I stamped this cutie on 4"x5-1/2" watercolor paper with Antique Linen Distress Ink then watercolored. I love the soft look of no-line coloring, but on this babe, I did a bit of what I call "fuzzy coloring" as well. I didn't go too crazy with the fur, only made the outlines look fuzzy. I also watercolored grass, and colored the sky with very very light blue.

The sentiments that come in this set are also very sweet 💗
I used this one because this is a thank you card for someone who is very dear to me. I heat embossed the sentiment with dark brown, then with the new Tumbling Hearts Stencil (another item I am so in love with 💗), I lightly sponged some hearts around the sentiment.

I distressed the watercolor paper to make this panel look like a page from a vintage book. Then I was going to add washi tape and be done, but I got the idea to use my crepe paper AKA: streamer. I made raffles and sewed in the center, then glued it down on my base. I placed this skinny washi tape on the ruffles, and mounted the front panel on top.
It turned out to be sort of shabby chic and I just love it!

I was going to stamp thank you on the inside, but I did this instead ;-)
The sentiment is from the Simply Relative set, which was stamped with dark brown. This set is an awesome set to have for sure! I also stamped the fern image from the Deer Friend set with green to dress up a bit ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
We are going to have a fun blog hop this Friday so please do come back!

Newton's Nook Desins January Release Day 4

Thursday, January 18, 2018

Hi, there lovelies!
Welcome to the final day of the Newton's Nook Designs January Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase tomorrow Friday the 19th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop
You know we always save the best for the last, just check this out ;-)

Okay, okay! Take a deeeeeeep breath now! {LOL}
I know! Newton has a girlfriend 💗
Aren't they just so very sweet together!? EEEEEEK 😆💗

Here's my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sweetheart Set - Naki Rager

This sweet image immediately stole my heart 💗
I really didn't need much on this card, just sponged background with the Tumbling Hearts Stencil (it's like they were meant to be used together, you know!?), and this lovely, adorable image did the rest for me!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sweetheart Set - Naki Rager

The very first thing I did was to die cut the shape of the image without stamping from scrap and taped it onto my front panel to sponge and add embossing paste. When I was done, I removed the die cut then stamped the image. I could have colored in all the white outlines, but I liked this look ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sweetheart Set - Naki Rager

My embossing paste turned yellow when it dried, the pink ink must have come through? I thought of coloring the hearts with white ink but it kind of matches my Newton ;-)
Do you see their tails making a heart together!? Now how sweet is that!? 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sweetheart Set - Naki Rager

Here is my second card with the Newton's Sweetheart set 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sweetheart Set - Naki Rager

Just look at this happy couple sharing a bottle of strawberry milk 💗
I colored the boy cat like Newton except I left his tummy and paws white. His sweet girlfriend reminded me of Marie from Disney so left her white and gave her a pink ribbon ;-) They are just so stinkin' cute together!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Sweetheart Set - Naki Rager

I picked navy for this little panel because I was going to heat emboss some of the hearts from the Tumbling Hearts Stencil with glow in the dark embossing powder to create a night sky, but I totally messed it up! I tried again with embossing paste, then decided to color them pink to match the strawberry milk. Pink and navy aren't my usual go-to color combo, but I really liked it so I heat embossed the sentiment with pink as well ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs January Release Day 3

Wednesday, January 17, 2018

Hello, lovelies!

All the new sets will be available for purchase this Friday the 19th so make sure to head over to the Newton's Nook Designs Shop and grab your favorites!

OH.MY.GOODNESS.💗💗💗
Are they not the sweetest little Bambies ever!!?
Any baby animals are cute, but there's something about sweet fawns that makes me go totally crazy! I don't know, must be the white spots on their back!?

Alright, here's my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

I very much enjoy watercolor, I love the soft look it creates. So naturally, I had to do no-line water coloring on these sweet, sweet babies 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

I stamped both of these images with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper and had a ton of fun coloring in! When I was happy with the results, I die cut them with the coordinating dies and popped them on next to each other all snugly and comfy 💗I die cut an oval and used it as stencil to sponge my background, placed the fawns, and added some grass using the Land Borders Die cutting from yellow vellum.

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

What a sweet little sentiment 💗
I heat embossed it right on my background along with a couple of daisies. I also heat embossed another daisy with white embossing powder on white cardstock, colored and fussy cut it, then popped it on right by the sentiment.

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

I couldn't just leave this one baby behind!
Originally, I was going to make this big, circle tag, but I thought the scallop circle would look so sweet and perfect with her 💗 So here it is, about 3-1/2" circle card ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Deer Friend Set - Naki Rager

Funny story... This Bambie looks cakey like an oil painting because I colored her pink and yellow at first! It turned out pretty bad, I think I need to do that with paper piecing or something, not watercolor {LOL} Well, lesson learned! So I colored her brown over my ridiculous pink 😝 Here's another sweet sentiment from the set, doesn't it just make you go AWWWWWW!?

Newton's Nook Designs January Release Day 2

Tuesday, January 16, 2018

Hello, there!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs January Release!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 19th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 2 of the reveal, and we're showcasing this super adorable new set Sending Hugs along with the coordinating Die set!

Did you catch how the critters' arms can hold the little items!?
It's absolutely adorable, and oh, how perfect for so many different occasions!!!

Okay, here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Sending Hugs Set - Naki Rager

I couldn't be mean and choose just one critter out of everyone in the set!
Besides, my sweet pup needed someone to hold the heart banner with her ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Sending Hugs Set - Naki Rager

I started this card with my sweet background.
I sponged watercolor paper with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink after die cutting it with the Frames & Flags Die set. Then I used the new Tumbling Hearts Stencil and Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste to add sparkly, pretty hearts.

Newton's Nook Designs Sending Hugs Set - Naki Rager

I stamped my cute little pup with black ink and colored her with my chameleon markers. I then very carefully die cut her with the coordinating die, also die cut the hearts, and inserted one of them in her paws.

Newton's Nook Designs Sending Hugs Set - Naki Rager

The same process for Winston. He's helping his pup friend hold this heart banner. Maybe this is the puppy's Valentine gift to her Valentine ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Sending Hugs Set - Naki Rager

My second card features this adorable kitty 💗
This is actually a pretty simple design, but this sweet patterned paper makes it so fun!

Newton's Nook Designs Sending Hugs Set - Naki Rager

My kitty is holding flowers and a muffin (it is actually a cupcake 😉) for his Valentine 💗
I die cut them with the coordinating dies but decided to fussy cut to show my kitty's face more. He's just so stinkin' cute, isn't he!?

Newton's Nook Designs Sending Hugs Set - Naki Rager

Here is the reason why I turned my cupcake into a muffin, I wanted this fun sentiment from the Love Bites set (revealed yesterday. To see the post, click HERE). I die cut a heart out from my patterned paper and vellum. The sentiment was heat embossed with rose gold embossing powder then nested into the heart cutout. I also die cut the teeny heart from the Darling Hearts Die Set from gold foil and pink glimmer papers, popped them onto the big stitched heart also from the Darling Hearts Die Set. They're working as little stickers to hold the big heart down ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs January Release Day 1

Monday, January 15, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome to the Newton's Nook Designs January Release this week!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 19th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
On day one, we are revealing the Love Bites stamp set along with the coordinating die set, and the Tumbling Hearts Stencil!

EEEEEEEEEEK!!!
What a fun and adorable set!!!
So many fun things you can make with these little cuties 💗

Who else loves the NND stencil line!?
When Jen makes new ones, it makes me so happy 😇💕

Okay, here's my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Love Bites Set - Naki Rager

BAM!
I LOVE all of the fun little images in this set, but I just had to play with this sushi and soy sauce couple {Hee Hee} I was going to pop these guys on a heart, but because of this sentiment, the comic book/superhero theme seemed more suitable ;-) Since these images are teeny, I used fun, bold patterned paper along with the starburst die cuts. So fun, right!?

Newton's Nook Designs Love Bites Set - Naki Rager

What a cute little couple 🍣🌸💖
I stamped them with light gray ink, colored them with my chameleon markers, then die cut with the coordinating dies. I fussy cut them after using the dies because I cannot center the images when I die cut to save my life! (is it just me!!? LOL) Plus, I colored outside the lines {A LOT!} and they looked pretty sloppy 😝 I mean, look at the eyes on the soy sauce, I can't even dot with markers! {LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Love Bites Set - Naki Rager

This fun sentiment was heat embossed with black embossing powder on vellum and die cut with a word bubble, I LOVE it 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Love Bites Set - Naki Rager

So my second project with the Love Bites set is more like a sampler.
I thought these little cuties are perfect for little Valentine for your kids' classmates, or even your co-workers!

Newton's Nook Designs Love Bites Set - Naki Rager

This adorable, yummy couple was popped on a heart die cut with the Darling Hearts Die Set, then mounted on a mini treat bag. You can just stick little treats inside the bag and done! I used the Tumbling Stencil to dress up the kraft treat bag, I'm a big fan of white on kraft ;-) This sentiment is absolutely adorable too, isn't it!?

Newton's Nook Designs Love Bites Set - Naki Rager

I am totally in LOVE with Mr. and Mrs. Olive here! 💗
I know, When I fussy cut them after using the dies for the same reason as my sushi couple, I couldn't even see the lines so I did a pretty bad job...😬 But still, don't they look so cute on my sweet background!? I sponged a few shades of pink then used the new Tumbling Hearts Stencil with white ink, I just LOVE how it turned out!

Newton's Nook Designs Love Bites Set - Naki Rager

I stamped and colored everyone from the Love Bites set, how could I not!?

I thought second graders would get a little giggle out of this soda couple with their cute sentiment (it made ME giggle 😆) On this one, I sponged the Tumbling Hearts on the inside of the card because those little store-bought Valentines usually have images and messages inside. For my son's class, I'll probably stamp the images directly on the card and have him color them, his mama's a bit too lazy to stamp and cut 20 of them...{LOL}
