Happy Birthday

Monday, November 26, 2012

Today is my beloved husband's birthday:-) Green is his favorite color and he likes clean look, so here it is, green CAS birthday card:-)

I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Perfectly Penned set, cut it out with the trusty Paper Snips, and popped it on with the Stampin' Dimensionals. I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack to give some textures, then adhered the frame with some glue dots, they help adhere without squishing the holes from the back.

If you want a feminine version, just change up the colors and DSP... it's that simple:-)

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Perfectly Penned
Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake. Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Comfort Cafe DSP
Ink: Gumball Green
Accessory: Neutral Designer Buttons, Linen Thread
Tool: Labels Collection Framelits dies, Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies, Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Festive Paper-Piercing Pack, Paper-Piercing Tool, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals
Secret Ingredient: Little details;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 14

Saturday, November 17, 2012

Hello there! Welcome to Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge #14!

This card has to be the most feminine card I have ever made... and I love it:-) You will see how I designed this sweet card below...

Make a Christmas card

Use the In-Color colors

I am getting some help from Freshly Made Sketches again!

One of my favorite stamp sets for Christmas is More Merry Messages. This one was heat embossed with Early Espresso. Just look at it! It looks like I wrote it with melted chocolate...so yummy!! Yes, I am choco-holic....;-)

When I saw Nina's pick, Primerose Petal was my immediate choice, such a sweet color:-)This 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon is oh so soft:-) To add more feminine touches, all you need is some pearls and laces, girls' best friends;-)

Since Primerose Petal is in the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP, choosing Early Espresso and Lucky Limeade was no job at all! This card really didn't take long to make, thanks to great inspirations!

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: More Merry Messages
Paper: Very Vanilla, Primerose Petals, Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP
Ink: Versamark
Accessory: Primerose Petals 3/8" Stitches Satin Ribbon, In-Color Dahlia, Pearl Basic Jewels
Tool: Designer Frames and Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Finishing Touches Edgelits Die, Heat Tool, Early Espresso Stampin' Emboss Powder, Glue Dots
Secret Ingredient: Be girly;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now head over to my very girly friend Nina and check out her beautiful Christmas card in the In-Color! Don't forget to upload your fabulous card and share with us too!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge will be back on December 1st.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge

Thursday, November 15, 2012

I am playing along with the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge today:-)
This card is very special... I made this for my 9 year old niece, back where I am originally from, Japan. She joined the school orchestra when school started in April, and this past Sunday, her school won the first place at the contest, which thousands of schools from all over the country entered!

PPA147 November 15

What a fun sketch with a lot of layers by my fellow pal, fabulous Margaret Moody!

I had wanted this set, Storybook Friends, ever since the annual catalog came out back in June, but was afraid of watercoloring so it took me this long to finally get it. And you know what, I am so happy I got it, look how adorable these animals are! All you need is Stampin' Write Markers and the Blender Pen:-) A little star and You did it! are from the retired set, Sprinkled Expressions.

A shinny number one for my number one niece:-) Not everyone can say, "I am number one in the country". She and her friends practice early in the morning and late after school everyday, and I am just so very proud of her:-)

If you like the look of stitches but are not a seamstress like me, you probably shy away from needles and threads. Well, with the Paper-Piercing Tool and the Essential Paper-Piercing Pack, you can pre-poke a straight line and make this process a WHOLE LOT easier! No need for a fancy sewing machine;-)

I wanted to use the Music Notes Wheel Stamp since this is going to my little violinist, but it really couldn't fit in my design on the front, so here it is, on the inside;-)

I honestly struggled with this card. I had the animal parade and the blue ribbon with the details in my head, but to decide what was going behind them really took some brainstorming! I wanted this card to be bright and cheery, but not childish (9 year olds these days are so grown-up!).  I think I picked the right colors, what do you think?

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Storybook Friends, A fitting Occasion, Sprinkled Expressions (Retired), Music Notes Standard Wheel
Paper: Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party, Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, Champagne Glimmer Paper, Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP, Sweetshop Specialty DSP
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, More Mustard, Soft Suede, River Rock, and Pool Party Stampin' Write Markers, Blender Pen
Accessory: Pool Party 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, Soft Suede 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon
Tool: 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" Circle, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punches, Little Labels Punch Pack, Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die, Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, Paper-Piercing Tool, Essential Paper-Piercing Pack, Stampin' Dimensionals, Needle and Thread
Secret Ingredient: Fabulous Sketch, Fabulous Occasion:-)

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge

Saturday, November 10, 2012

Welcome to Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge!
This week's picks are very interesting...:-)

Heat Emboss

Emboss

I guess great minds think alike....ha ha:-D

Even though I like my blues and silvers for my Christmas, I find myself going for the traditional color combo, Red & Green. You know why? I just LOVE the Be of Good Cheer DSP:-)
Gold looks just perfect with Cherry Cobbler too. (This was one of my "never-go-to" colors, now it's my fave red!)

I knew I wanted to try the Holiday Frame Folder for this challenge, and the rest came together with no problem!
I love this sentiment from the More Merry Messages set, so elegant, so pretty, so festive...:-) It looks even more fabulous heat embossed in gold, don't you agree?

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Embellished Events, More Merry Messages

Freshly Made Sketches

Thursday, November 8, 2012

I truly enjoy Freshly Made Sketches every week:-) and here is this week's!

What a fun sketch!

The dress was made with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and the Heart to Heart Punch (Retired).  The bottom part was embossed with the Lacy Brocade Folder to fancy it up.

One of the Little labels Punch pack was used to make this little purse. The River Rock Card Stock and the Champagne Glimmer Paper were layered. The pearls were added for the handle and the closure of the purse. Fancy!

The strip of the Basic Black Card Stock was embossed with the Lacy Brocade as well, it's such a fancy and elegant design!

This is another Christmas card, a bit unusual, but every woman needs "a little black dress" to go to a holiday party, right;-) Besides, the recipient of this card is a fashionist, I needed something fabulous and glam!

My Recipe of This Card

Stamp set: Embellished Events
Paper: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, River Rock, Champagne glimmer Paper, Be of Good Cheer DSP

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 12

Saturday, November 3, 2012

It's time for another Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge!

Use Leaves

Monochromatic

I love playing our double dare challenge, my friend Nina really inspires me. This is probably my very first monochromatic card ever!

Crumb Cake can be very "Blah" easily because it is such a soft color, so I knew I had to add a lot of different textures and tones.

I actually stamped Merry from the Tiny Tags set on my leaf, but after embossing, you can't see what it is... I guess it was too small..oops:-p

I sponged the maple leaf using the piece of card stock that I used to die cut my leaf as a template. I wanted that shadow effect behind the leaf.

This card really did not take long to make, and for a soft card, I was pretty excited making it too;-)

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Tiny Tags
Paper: Crumb Cake
Ink: Crumb Cake
Accessory: 5/8" Crochet Trim, Crumb Cake 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, Linen Thread, Neutral Designer Buttons
Tool: Autumn Accents Bigz Dies, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sponge

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now check out what Nina's fabulous creation looks like, and make your own beautiful leafy monochromatic card, and share with us by uploading it below!

Pals Paper Arts Challenge / Freshly Made Sketches

Thursday, November 1, 2012

I am playing the Pals Paper Arts Challenge and Freshly Made Sketches together this week:-)

PPA146 November 1

Such a soft and pretty color combo, and what a fun sketch!

Another Christmas card done!
I wish I had the Peekaboo Frames Bigz Die, but it is on my wish list so I used a razor blade to cut those windows myself...ha ha:-D One of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack was used to make those little openings to lift the windows up.

This cute little Jingle Bell is from last year's Holiday Mini Catalog, it actually jingles! How cute is that!?

This is probably going to my baby sister and her family, the kids would love those windows!
Although cutting the windows was a bit of work, I really had fun making this card:-)

My Recipe for This Card

Stamp set: Merry Minis, Tiny Tags
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Champagne Glimmer Paper, Twitterpated DSP
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Gumball Green, and Summer Starfruit Stampin' Write Markers
Accessory: Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, Linen Thread, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Jingle Bells (Retired)
Tool: Square Scallop Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes and Merry Minis Punch Packs, Large Scallop Edgelits Die, Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stamp-a-majig, Stampin' Dimensionals
