Paperless Post

Monday, November 26, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
I hope you all had a beautiful Thanksgiving!
So now that that's over, time to get busy with holiday cards!
I am really bad with actually mailing my handmade cards 😖
Don't you wish we could send them just by clicking buttons!?
Well, have you heard of Paperless Post
I was offered to try out their digital greeting cards in exchange for writing a review on my blog, and I thought it'd be fun!

So this is their home page.
To start, you need to create an account and purchase some coins.

Choose "CARDS" on the very right and you get all these different occasions for your digital cards!
For my very first card, I chose "Just Because" to send to my hubby 💗 I used to mail him my handmade cards to his office but he now has multiple locations and I don't know which one to mail to! {LOL} But with Paperless Post, he can open it whenever or wherever he is ;-)

Here is a card I've customized for my sweet friend Nina (click HERE to see her blog).
These cute kitties sharing an umbrella is one of their "Just Because" cards, totally my style!
As you can see, it lets you customize the font, color, and size of the message, the backdrop, and even the colors of the image on some of the designs. When you're done, click on NEXT > and move onto the back of the card and add more personal messages.

This part was a total surprise AND my favorite!
These cards come with envelopes and you can customize it by changing up the colors and the liner!
I know! How fun is that!? But wait!

The next step is the front of the envelope and OH.MY.GOSH!!!
You can change the postage stamp and postmark, too!!!
When making my handmade cards, I am all about attention to detail so this was so very satisfying! 💗

When you're happy with all your changes and ready to send it, there is one more awesome feature I absolutely LOVE...you can schedule when to send it! Of course, you can simply click on SEND, but this setting came in very handy when I sent Thanksgiving cards to my in-laws!

So what did you think?
it's really easy AND fun, right!?
I'm not a very digital person, couldn't even handle Microsoft PowerPoint when I used to work at the billing office! {LOL} The most difficult part of all was to make my choices! There are thousands of card designs and they even have partnered up with brand name companies such as Kate Spade, Sugar Paper, (these are my favorite companies so it was really exciting to see their designs there!), and many more! You can even upload your own photos, now that's fun!

Finally, I'd like to thank Helen from Paperless Post who invited me to this fun site!
It was a different kind of fun from my usual getting-all-inky fun! I even customized then sent a card in less than 5 minutes! Now that's a real quick way to show someone you're thinking of them! I definitely recommend Paperless Post to everyone, especially someone who's not into craft!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
have a lovely week!

Newton's Nook Designs November Release Day 3

Wednesday, November 21, 2018

Hi, there!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs November Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 23rd in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop, PLUS there will be Black Friday Sale going, too!
Today is the last day of the reveal and we have 2 super adorable sets along with their coordinating die sets!

This fun and cute set is called Newton Celebrates 💗
He's got bubbly and cocktail, totally ready to party with you!

Newton is in the celebratory mood!
Such a perfect little set for all the holidays coming up!
Okay, here's what I created...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Celebrates Set - Naki Rager

First up is this adorable kitty giving a toast 🍷🎉

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Celebrates Set - Naki Rager

This gray tiger kitty is all dressed up in his fancy black collar with a red gem (which I applied Nuvo Strawberry Jewel Drops) and a glass of bubbly (which was colored with the champagne pearl watercolor) in his paw. He was watercolored (surprise! LOL) and die cut using the coordinating die, then popped on with foam tape.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Celebrates Set - Naki Rager

I created the argyle background using the new Argyle Stencil Set. I watercolored the solid diamonds with the poppy (to match the kitty's gem) on watercolor paper first then heat embossed the dotted diamonds with gold EP on top. I stamped the sentiment with black in on the white cardstock, which was die cut using the Framework Die Set. I switched the scallop frame with black to give a more formal feel as the fancy collar. To finish up this celebratory card, I die cut a bunch of confetti using the Balloon Shaker Die Set from gold foil sheet.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's New Year Set - Naki Rager

It seems like the celebration continues!
My first card was pretty busy with the bold colors and big patterns, so this one stayed pretty CAS ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's New Year Set - Naki Rager

I colored the bottle of champagne with pearl watercolor (except for the deep blue and green), and colored the party hat with the same colors. I decided to leave my kitty all white because I thought all the shimmer and shine was enough sparkles ;-) But when I placed her on the card, it was too much grays and whites so I die cut lime-green and light gray "shadows".

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's New Year Set - Naki Rager

I stamped a whole bunch of the "cheers" with light gray ink as the background. The "Happy New Year" was stamped with Twisted Citron ink then Versamark to heat emboss with iridescent EP so that it wouldn't disappear in the background. It needed more colors so I stamped the little confetti with the Twisted Citron ink then coated them with the glitter pen. Gold and silver circle confetti and sparkling clear sequins were sprinkled all over, I mean, what party doesn't have some confetti!? ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs November Release Day 2

Tuesday, November 20, 2018

Hi, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs November Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 23rd in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop, PLUS there will be Black Friday Sale, too! WOW!!!
On day 2, we are showcasing 2 gorgeous stamp sets along with the coordinating die sets ;-)

What a beautiful set 💗
It is called Poinsettia Blooms, they're simply gorgeous, aren't they!?

This beautiful, adorable set is called Winter Birds.
I thought it was very different from Jen's usual style but she did such an excellent job 💗
I was so looking forward to coloring these cuties!

Alright, here's what I created...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs poinsettia Blooms Set - Naki Rager

For this card with the Poinsettia Blooms Set, I used the classic red, green, and gold ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs poinsettia Blooms Set - Naki Rager

I heat embossed the poinsettias with gold tinsel EP, watercolored, die cut using the coordinating die set, and added more shimmer with the glitter pen. I just love these clusters of poinsettias, simply gorgeous!

Newton's Nook Designs poinsettia Blooms Set - Naki Rager

I die cut this vellum with white polka dots using the Frames and Flags Die Set, mounted it on gold and white striped paper, and die cut the sentiment using the Holiday Greetings Die Set from poppy cardstock to match the poinsettias. The design itself is pretty simple but the blooms are big and bold, they really didn't need anything but some fun patterns and sparkly sequins ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Winter Birds Set - Naki Rager

My card with the new Winter Birds Set features this adorable Black-Capped Chickadee, which was inspired by this style of Japanese paintings (click HERE to see what I'm talking about). I adore the soft lines, and a lot of white space makes the painting really pop!

Newton's Nook Designs Winter Birds Set - Naki Rager

I colored all the birds in this set but my favorite is this little chickadee, he's so little and fluffy and puffy, I wish I could cuddle with him! After coloring him, I die cut him using the coordinating die but didn't like the white outline against my natural ivory cardstock so trimmed it off. I used a dollop of Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops for his eye so that it wouldn't disappear in his black feathers. The branch was die cut using the Winter Birds Die Set from distressed Core'dinations cardstock. I added some more snow on the branch and bird using the Snow Maker Marker.

Newton's Nook Designs Winter Birds Set - Naki Rager

To create this whole winter scene, I used the Petite Snow Stencil and embossing paste for the background.
And this beautiful sentiment was heat embossed with black EP. I'm really loving this CAS card!

Newton's Nook Designs November Release Day 1

Monday, November 19, 2018

Hellooooo, my loves!
It is time for the Newton's Nook Designs November Release! What!? This year has gone by so fast for me and it is absolutely crazy that we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving this week!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 23rd in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop, AND there will be Black Friday Sale going too! Woo Hoo! But first, let us give you sneak peeks of the new goodies ;-) Today is day one and we're showcasing 3 new stamp sets, 2 of them with the coordinating die set, and 2 super awesome stencil sets! Ready!?

This fun 3"x4" stamp set is called Christmas Haul.
These sentiments are so fun, I simply adore this cute set!

Then we have the Moose Mountain Set!
Ohmygoodness, I am completely in LOVE with these super cool dudes!
Not only they're adorable, but they're also snowboarders!!!

This one is called Snowman Advice.
I totally LOVE these little quote stamp sets and this one didn't disappoint me!
The whole quote is so cute but my favorite line is "Avoid Meltdowns" 😆

Jen's stencils are always unique and I get so excited every time she comes up with new designs, but these new stencil sets simply blew my mind!!! This set makes your own argyle patterns! You can use any colors or medium you want, and possibilities are endless!!!

This set makes plaid patterns, who doesn't like plaid!?
But what's really cool about these new stencil sets is that you can use only one of them to create a very unique pattern, too! Seriously, are they not the MOST AWESOME things ever!?

Alright, let's see what I created...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Christmas Haul Set - Naki Rager

The color scheme for this card was inspired by the sentiments "Tis the season to be fabulous". Black and gold are definitely festive AND fabulous ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Christmas Haul Set - Naki Rager

I still used the traditional red and green Christmas colors but used shimmery watercolor ;-) She was die cut out using the coordinating die set. It was popped on another die cut piece to give a shadow behind her.

Newton's Nook Designs Christmas Haul Set - Naki Rager

Even though this card was inspired by another sentiment, I decided to use this one because I think it is so stinkin' cute! It was heat embossed with gold EP on black cardstock, which was die cut using the Framework Die Set ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Christmas Haul Set - Naki Rager

I created this black buffalo plaid using only one of the stencils from the new Plaid Stencil Set, but it kind of disappeared on my white basecard so I used the other stencil with gold ink to break it down ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Moose Mountain Set - Naki Rager

I just had to make a slider with this totally awesome snowboarding moose doing his little trick!
I used to snowboard (probably can't even slide down if I tried now...LOL) and my friends back then and I used to watch these videos of professional snowboarders doing insane tricks! I was obviously inspired by that ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Moose Mountain Set - Naki Rager

These professionals would jump and grab their boards just like this adorable moose is doing, and they literally fly across the sky!!! I could never ever do that, wouldn't even think to try!!! {LOL} So this cutie was watercolored and die cut using the coordinating die. I added some Glossy Accents to his goggles.

Newton's Nook Designs Moose Mountain Set - Naki Rager

This sentiment is so cute!
"Make the moose (most) out of life"
I think this fun moose is doing exactly that! I love it!!!

Newton's Nook Designs Snowman Adovice Set - Naki Rager

For this card, the focal point had to be the quote from the new Snowman Advice set ;-)
I thought it'd be fun to pair it with bright poppy and lime green plaid, which was created using the new Plaid Stencil Set ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Snowman Adovice Set - Naki Rager

I wanted an icy feel so I heat embossed the quote and snowflakes with snowflake EP on light blue vellum, which was die cut using the Frames and Flags Die Set. The way the glitter in this EP glows totally reminds me of how snow reflects the sun, it's so pretty!

Newton's Nook Designs Snowman Adovice Set - Naki Rager

I matched the snowmen's ear muffs and scarves to my fun poppy/lime plaid, and after fussy cutting them, I popped them onto the distressed gray Core'dinations cardstock. They're so stinkin' cute, aren't they!? 💚💗

Newton's Nook Designs & therm-o-web Inspiration Week

Wednesday, November 7, 2018

Hello,, my friends!
This week Newton's Nook Designs and Therm-O-Web are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to add fun foils and more to your cards using Therm-O-Web products with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! There are prizes too! Read all the way to the end of this post to find out how you can win!

Newton's Nook Designs x Therm-O-Web - Naki Rager

So I made 2 totally different cards today!

Newton's Nook Designs Fox Hollow Set - Naki Rager

Therm-O-Web let us pick some of their fabulous products to play with for this week's collaboration (thank you so much! 💕) and this Brutus Monroe Designer Toner Sheets-Distress Circles was the first item I chose! These toner sheets are acetate sheets with designs printed with toner, and all you need to do is run it through a laminator with a deco foil sheet on top. I foiled this one with Silver Deco Foil Transfer Sheet to make it look like snow ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Fox Hollow Set - Naki Rager

This beautiful fox couple image is from the Fox Hollow Set, one of my all-time favorites 💛
It was stamped with Light Gray Archival Ink on watercolor paper, I did what I call "sloppy watercoloring" meaning I basically threw colors on the image and didn't care if I went outside the lines ;-) It gives this imperfect and very soft look and I simply love it! When it was all nice and dry, I die cut it with the Coordinating Die Set.

Newton's Nook Designs Fox Hollow Set - Naki Rager

I stamped this sweet little sentiment with blue inks to match the fox's scarf, but the blue I used wasn't even close to the scarf {LOL}, so I stamped it again with a different hue BUT only about 1/3 of the sentiment to give an ombre-ish finish.

Newton's Nook Designs Fox Hollow Set - Naki Rager

I adhered the Iridescent Deco Foil Transfer Sheets on white cardstock and die cut 2 pieces of hills using the Land Borders Die Set. Then I also die cut some birch trees and pine trees using the Forest Scene Builder Die Set, mounted everything (except the lower hill piece) right on the base card, added my distress circle toner sheet, then the hill and the fox couple.

Newton's Nook Designs Ornamental Wishes Set - Naki Rager

This card was put together fairly quickly because I used leftover pieces from the previous projects ;-)
This gorgeous red foil background is the negative piece from THIS CARD. For this card, this piece was only slightly bigger than A2 size so I trimmed off 1/8" from 1 horizontal side and 1 vertical side, wrapped the excess over on the back and just taped the 4 sides with scotch tape. It was kind of like wrapping a present with a fancy wrapping paper! ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Ornamental Wishes Set - Naki Rager

I had this sentiment from the Ornamental Wishes Set heat embossed with gold EP on acetate sheet that was die cut using the Ornament Shaker Die Set, I made this for the October Release but ended up not using it. The acetate by itself on the foiled background made the sentiment hard to see so I die cut another ornament from this jade cardstock and tucked it behind the acetate sheet. Isn't the jade beautiful against the red!?

Newton's Nook Designs Ornamental Wishes Set - Naki Rager

My pretty little bow was made with the Gina K. Designs Gingham Fancy Ribbon, I just LOVE this gorgeous ribbon! I also used the Gina K. Designs Premium Cardstock Luxury White on both of my cards today. They're really really smooth, I bet they're perfect for coloring, too!

There are more amazing projects today over on the Therm O Web blog so pop over there for more inspiration!

{Would you like to win a prize pack including a $25 store credit to Therm O Web AND a $25 store credit to Newton’s Nook Designs?}
