Newton's Nook Designs May Release Day 2

Tuesday, May 14, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs May Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 17th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 2 of the reveal and we're showcasing the new Dainty Daisies Stamp Set along with the Coordinating Die Set! This set is completely different from the Newton's Movie Night Set that was revealed yesterday but you are going to LOVE it!

Isn't this pretty!!?
Here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Dainty Daisies Set - Naki Rager

Up first today is this 7' x 3" card ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Dainty Daisies Set - Naki Rager

I simply LOVE LOVE LOVE these dainty, beautiful flowers 💛
I stamped the image directly on the watercolor panel and watercolored. I colored the background very light blue so that the white petals pop.

Newton's Nook Designs Dainty Daisies Set - Naki Rager

I heat embossed the sentiment with yellow EP on a vellum banner, which was die cut using the banner die from the Frames and Flags Die Set. I wanted to keep it simple so all I added was a few droplets and white sequins.

Newton's Nook Designs Dainty Daisies Set - Naki Rager

My second card is a little bit shabby chic 💗

Newton's Nook Designs Dainty Daisies Set - Naki Rager

So the way this one was colored is almost identical to my first card because this one was stamped and colored first but I didn't like how I die cut it into a tag, so I redid the whole thing for my long card! {LOL} But I couldn't just throw this one out either so here it is! I thought it might be fun to layer it on a couple more tags, which were all die cut using the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set.

Newton's Nook Designs Dainty Daisies Set - Naki Rager

Daisies are dainty and so are doilies, so why not pair them!?
I added Jude twine and mini cloth pin for a rustic look.
The right side of the card looked too empty so I added a few tiny banners and green sequins for a little bit of extra colors and I was happy with how this once-almost-got-thrown-in-the-recycle-bin tag ;-)
What do you think? Did I save my daisy tag!!?

Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 2

Tuesday, March 12, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs March Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 15th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 2 and we're revealing this gorgeous Floral Fringe Stamp Set and Frames Squared Die Set!
Let's take a look at them ;-)

I said, it is gorgeous, didn't I!?

Can we all say, WOOHOO! for another beautiful and versatile frame die set!?
I LOVE how Jen mixes in different shapes 💗
Alright, here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Floral Fringes Set - Naki Rager

Some of the square dies form the new Frames Squared Die Set fit this new framed floral image and a shaker seemed like a great idea with this beautiful stamp set ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Floral Fringes Set - Naki Rager

The new stamp immediately made me want to cut out the center of it but that's easier said than done when you don't own a digital die cutting machine 😞 So first, I used the smaller square die and scalloped squared die to create the frame. Then I heat embossed the image with white EP on acetate and trimmed it down to fit behind the scalloped frame. I filled the card with lots of pinks and greens and sparkling clear sequins and bead seeds ;-) The idea of using the acetate was so that all these different colors from the sequins would "color" the flowers, if that makes sense...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Floral Fringes Set - Naki Rager

Aside from the colorful sequins, this design is pretty simple so I thought a big 3D flower would look really lovely ;-) This adorable daisy was made using the Flower Trio Die Set, I told you last month that this die set was going to be used a lot! The sentiment was heat embossed with white EP on a yellow ticket, which was die cut using the Frameworks Die Set, another all-time-go-to-awesome die set ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs February Release Day 1

Monday, February 11, 2019

Hello, peeps!
Today kicks off the Newton's Nook Designs February Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 15th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
We have so many awesome products to reveal today so let's get to it! ;-)

Here you see is the Bokeh Stencil Set 💛
The Stencil Sets are so fun, I absolutely love them!

This single stencil is called Bold Blooms, isn't this so pretty!?

This is Flower Trio Die Set 🌼💛
You and I both know that this die set is going to be one of your new favorites...;-)

Look at this cheerful, adorable new set!
The Loads of Blooms Stamp and Die Sets scream spring 💛
Okay, here are what I made with them...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Loads of Blooms Set - Naki Rager

This sweet image immediately gave me a slider card idea!
It kind of reminded me of riding my bike in Japan. it was one of the main transportations I had, and when the weather was nice and you go down a hill on your bike and let go of the pedals like this girl is doing, it felt so good!

Newton's Nook Designs Loads of Blooms Set - Naki Rager

This sweet image was stamped with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper and I did no-line watercoloring, then die cut using the coordinating die.

Newton's Nook Designs Loads of Blooms Set - Naki Rager

The front panel was sponged, the sliding path was die cut, the sentiment was heat embossed with Rose Gold EP alongside the sliding path, several flowers from the same set were popped on my sponged meadow, and a few clouds were also popped on, which were die cut using the Newton Scoots By Die Set.

Newton's Nook Designs Loads of Blooms Set - Naki Rager

I like rain :-)
So I just had to use this image for my second card ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Loads of Blooms Set - Naki Rager

Rainy days don't mean you have to be gloomy!
I have a yellow rain jacket with navy & white stripes inside and just love wearing my cheerful jacket! So I colored this girl's raincoat a nice, bright yellow with fun blue, too ;-) The sentiment was heat embossed with yellow to keep the color scheme ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Loads of Blooms Set - Naki Rager

I used the new Bold Blooms Stencil to create this soft but cheerful spring background 🌼💛
I cut a make-up sponge into tiny pieces to sponge all these pretty flowers in different colors ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Flower Trio Die Set - Naki Rager

Here's a card I made using the new Flower Trio Die Set ;-)
3D flowers give so much drama, it's simply fun, isn't it!? 💛

Newton's Nook Designs Flower Trio Die Set - Naki Rager

So I die cut all these pieces from a sheet of watercolor paper and left them in the sheet to watercolor, that way you don't have to hold small pieces with your fingers ;-) I did watercolor the leaves, too, but I found this shimmery green cardstock and they looked prettier ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Flower Trio Die Set - Naki Rager

I simply clustered all the flowers with the leaves as close as I could, which took me way too long to figure out! But it was totally worth it! I placed a few droplets on some of the leaves, and sprinkled sequins ;-) I think this is so springy and pretty, I am so happy with how it turned out! 💛

Newton's Nook Designs

Wednesday, May 30, 2018

Happy Wednesday, lovelies!
I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today with this card I made with the new Peony Blooms Set (they're simply gorgeous, I cannot stay away from them!).

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms Set - Naki Rager

This card is CAS and shabby chic, I love how it turned out!

So my very dear friend and a partner in crime Nina (She's back in the blog land! Woo Hoo! Click HERE and check out her blog!) took this beautiful photo with lovely peonies from her garden and I was totally inspired by it! Not only the blooms are gorgeous, but I am loving all the different media in this photo!

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms Set - Naki Rager

The very first thing I did was heat embossed the Mason jar image from the lovely Blooms Set with light gray embossing powder on watercolor paper and die cut it with the coordinating die. I also wrote "NND" on the jar with a white gel pen and added shadows with the Cool Gray Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Pen. Next thing was stamped a couple peonies with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper and watercolored them with yellows. I know Nina's flowers are pale pink but I really like yellow flowers, so cheerful 💛

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms Set - Naki Rager

I borrowed the wish die from the Balloon Shaker Die Set and die cut it from the Therm-O-Web Foam Adhesive and foiled it. Here's a little tip; cut out a small piece of foam adhesive first, foil it THEN die cut, the die cutting machine presses down the foil very evenly and nicely! Leave the sentiment in the die until you're ready, then place it on your card and gently push it out with a piercing tool.

I die cut the woodgrains from the Gray Core'dinations Cardstock and sand it down, tor, tore off the right side of the panel, sewed a doily onto it, then mounted on a white linen cardstock. A little gold thread behind the jar, Jude twine on the jar, and several sparkling clear confetti, done ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs May Release Day 2

Tuesday, May 15, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs May Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 18th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 2 and we are revealing the gorgeous Peony Blooms Set!

I know! WOW!!!
I love peonies, They're just so beautiful 💗When my hubby and I didn't know the name of these beauties, we called them "pom poms". Don't they remind you of those fluffy cheerleaders' pom-poms!? {LOL}

Okay, here's my take with my "pom-poms" ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms Set - Naki Rager

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms Set - Naki Rager

All these gorgeous images were stamped with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper, lightly watercolored and die cut with the Coordinating Dies. Aren't they breathtaking!?

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms Set - Naki Rager

And here is one of the beautiful sentiments from the set, which was heat embossed with rose gold embossing powder then die cut with this ticket die from the Framework Die Set. I popped it with foam tape on the copper foil banner, which was die cut with the Frames & Flags Die Set.

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms Set - Naki Rager

My second card with this beautiful new set is preppy in yellow and navy ;-)
So I don't have any navy and white wide striped paper so I simply trimmed the watercolor paper to 5-1/2"x4-1/4", placed 3 pieces of masking tape on it to create these wide stripes, and used the wide flat paintbrush to apply navy watercolor ink. I splattered some white ink but it made it look like stary night so I went over them with navy paint again. It ended up looking distressed and I love it!

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms Set - Naki Rager

For this card, these beautiful flowers were stamped with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink on watercolor paper and watercolored with yellow and a tiny bit of green for shading. After die cutting them with the Coordinating dies, I popped them on with foam tape.

Newton's Nook Designs Peony Blooms Set - Naki Rager

This beautiful sentiment was heat embossed with yellow embossing powder on vellum and die cut with the smaller postage stamp die from the new Framework Die Set
It's the same flowers but they look totally different with different colors, isn't it amazing!? The first design is so soft and feminine, but I must admit, I love preppy so the second card is more me ;-)
