Newton's Nook Designs

Wednesday, February 27, 2019

Hello, lovelies!
I cannot believe that February is almost over, can you!?
All my kids have had the flu the past 2-1/2 weeks (they always take turns to get sick, so polite, right!?😑) Hope you stay healthy and avoid the flu!!!

Anyway, I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today so let's take a look ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Celebrates Set - Naki Rager

It is almost March and I have a few Birthdays to celebrate ;-)
This Friday the 1st is my oldest's, it doesn't seem real that he is turning 9!!!
And then there's my bestie's birthday, which is on the 17th...

My bestie and I have been friends since we were 16 and I love her like a sister!
So I get to play around and tease her by giving her this St.Patrick's Day themed card {LOL}
The sweet kitty in the big glass image is from the Newton Celebrates Set. As you can see, I colored the drink green ;-) The sentiment die is from the Cocktail Mixer Die Set, I die cut it then heat embossed with iridescent EP.

This little sentiment is from the Cocktail Mixer Stamp Set, it was heat embossed with white EP on black cardstock, trimmed it down and popped on the fun, gold foil frame ;-)

The shaker part was created using the Framework Die Set and Acetate Sheet, and it was filled with greens and gold sequins and bead seeds ;-)

Hope you enjoyed it!
Have a lovely day 💛

Hi, lovelies!

All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop
Today is day 2 of the reveal, and we're showcasing the Uplifting Wishes Stamp Set and the Balloon Shaker Die Set

EEEEEEEEK!!!
Another shaker die set! Are you as excited as I am!!? 😆
And look at this lovely stamp set to go with the shaker, so fun and adorable 💗

Okay, here are my takes...;-)

So for my first project, I made my whole card a shaker!
I die cut this beautiful scallop frame from the Frames & Flags Die Set and placed a piece of Acetate Sheets on the back to create this big shaker window.

Seriously, who doesn't love balloons!?
I die cut this solid balloon from gold vellum then heat embossed this awesome sentiment with white embossing powder. I just LOVE this stamp set, I think all the sentiments are fun with or without the balloon die, and it will be one of the most versatile sets ever!

I simply ADORE these small balloons and party hats and confetti! How fun are they!!? I die cut a whole bunch of them from metallic copper foil paper (I didn't use the tiny pieces because I was afraid of them flipping over!) and piled them up on my base card along with a bunch of bead seeds and clear confetti in circle and star shapes. I also used the Bubbly Stencil with Nuvo Glimmer Paste on the base, do you see those sparkly circles!!? That's them ;-)

Here is my second card today! (sorry about the dark photos...)
Of course I had to make a balloon shaker!

I originally planned to have only one balloon, but I thought why only one!?
I started with die cutting a window with the solid balloon die from my front panel, then die cut the outline balloon from plum cardstock and Double Sided Adhesive Foam, and solid one again from the Acetate Sheets. I used the negative die cut piece as a stencil and sponged another balloon also.

I also sponged some adorable clouds on my base card with the Cloudy Sky Stencil, isn't it amazing how little things like these sponged clouds add so much to your design!? Jen's growing stencil line is simply awesome, I absolutely adore them 💗

This sentiment from the new Uplifting Wishes Set is absolutely adorable 💗, and this is what inspired me to come up with this design ;-) I'm telling you, this stamp set is so cute and so versatile, it is simply "a must have"! They'll look fabulous with the Balloon Shaker Die Set, or any other shapes or by themselves!

Frantic Stamper November Release

Thursday, November 30, 2017

Hello, lovelies!
I have one more card with the Frantic Stamper November Release to share before we enter December ;-)

Okay, here it goes ;-)

When I first received this gorgeous Music Ribbon Die, I wanted to make a shaker card!
I decided to keep this card very CAS because this music score is just fun itself!
I used Lawn Fawn I Love You Border lawn Cut for my sentiment since this is a long and skinny card, it was perfect!

I die cut the Music Ribbon from 3"x6-1/2" white cardstock to create a window, adhered acetate on the back of the panel, placed my Music Ribbon that was die cut from black cardstock. I then poured in a bunch of heart confetti and beads inside. When you shake the card, it just makes you want to sing and dance!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
The December Release starts tomorrow and I will be back with several projects so stay tuned! It's a really fun theme! ;-)

Shaker Card

Thursday, July 9, 2015

Hi there!
Today's card was made for Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge, which I accidentally published it a few weeks ago...Ha Ha
But Nina has been super busy (she is such a work-a-holic!) so I have decided to show off this card now. Hopefully we will be back with our super fun challenge soon!

Our picks were Geometric and Waffle Flower's Tiny Die Trio.

Isn't this triangle die simply awesome!?
I wasn't really sure how to mix this die with the Tiny Die Trio, but I decided to make a shaker card.

These dies are so tiny and cute!
I kind of got it just because it was cute...lol I always think how I would use whatever it is that I want, so that way they won't just sit on my desk. But these little guys ignored my little law and got their way in my shopping cart!
I think they're fabulous in my gold triangle jail with the sparkles!

The design of this card is pretty simple, but with my limited supplies to make a shaker card made it SO hard to create this guy here! I went online looking for some foam tapes after I was done with this card...Ha Ha:-D

My notes...

Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Gold and Silver Foil Sheets, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Accessory: Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh), Confetti (Martha Stewart)
Tool: Die-namics Triangle Screen (My Favorite Things), Tiny Die Trio (Waffle Flower), In a Word: Hugs Cutaways (Winnie & Walter)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
