Whoops!

Thursday, June 29, 2017

Hello, lovelies!
Today I have this cute little card that I made for my bestie since we were 16!
Her birthday is on St.Patrick's Day, and I am finally sending her a card with a little gift...I know! I am SO BAD!!!

Hee Hee :-) Isn't this so very cute!!?
I did a little shopping when Lil' Inker Designs had their fabulous sale! {giggle}

This cute little kitty is from the Lovie Friends set, she was stamped with Black Soot Distress Ink on Neenah White Cardstock, colored in with Spectrum Noir Markers, and die cut with the coordinating die. She was placed over the repeatedly stamped sentiment "my bad!". Isn't she simply adorable!?

I am absolutely in LOVE with this sentiment die "whoops"! I die cut it from the patterned paper first, then Pool Party cardstock, and More Mustard cardstock.
This little sentiment from the Whoops set in a speech bubble is just perfect for this super belated birthday card, which was heat embossed with white on Pool Party cardstock.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope my bestie will love this card as much as I do, and you as well!

Newton's Nook Designs

Wednesday, June 28, 2017

Hello lovelies! Happy Wednesday!
Have you gotten a chance to get your hands inky with new NND goodies yet!?
Today I am up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog with this super fun, summer card!
Here it goes ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cultivated Cacti Set - Naki Rager

I am absolutely in LOVE with all the new cactus stamps from the June release!
For today's card, I used this lovely cactus image from the Cultivated Cacti set to create something simple but fun with my embellishments that I've been hoarding...{LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Cultivated Cacti Set - Naki Rager

The cactus image was stamped with Versamark on Pool Party cardstock, I sprinkled a pinch of neon yellow embossing powder, applied Gumball Green embossing powder then heat set it. Doesn't that bit of the neon yellow add so much fun to an already-awesome image!? I also heat embossed that little flower with the same neon yellow, die cut with the coordinating die, and added that teeny tiny pearl in the center. I borrowed the sunglasses from the Newton's Summer Vacation set and stamped it with Antique Linen Distressed Ink on Pool Party cardstock, traced the frame with the Nuvo Crystal Drops Pale Gold, and filled the inside of them with the Glossy Accent.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
hope you enjoyed it!

Sketch For You To Try!

Wednesday, June 21, 2017

Hello, my lovelies!
Happy first day of summer! Woo Hoo!!!
I hope you are having beautiful summer weather :-)
Today, I am playing along with a couple challenges! I know! It's been ages since I last played any challenge!

My son's school is finally ending tomorrow and I needed a couple of thank you cards for his teachers. The Sketch For You To Try challenge over at Reverse Confetti had this cute sketch ;-)

I had wanted to play the CAS Watercolor Challenge ever since I found it (gosh, I don't even know how long ago!). Totally me, right!?

Alright, here is my card...;-)

The last day of school means the beginning of summer! YAY!
I am probably more excited about it than my son is because mornings and I do not get along! {LOL}

I got this cute little worm guy from Reverse Confetti when they had their sale!
Isn't he just the most adorable wiggly guy ever!? I stamped his striped body with pink first, heat embossed the wormy with gold, die cut him with the coordinating die, and colored his little face with my Spectrum Noir Marker. Same process with the apple, and the sentiment was also heat embossed with gold.

So where is my watercolor? The three strips of watercolor paper have the ruler and pencil images heat embossed, and they were water colored with blue and yellow ;-)
I chose the vellum with tiny polka dots for my big circle because I didn't want to totally hide the 3 panels behind it, and this card had a lot of patterns and colors already! This green paper with striped dots may seem too much, but it actually ties everything together. I have stripes on the worm, pencils, and ruler. Polka dots can be found on the apple, the vellum, and my little Mr. Worm is made of circles as well ;-) And the green matches the worm's head and the leaf on the apple ;-) The pink base is unusual for me, but it is picking up the pink on the worm and apple.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 4

Thursday, June 15, 2017

Hello, my lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs June Release!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase tomorrow Friday the 16th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop
Today is the final day of the reveal, and we are showcasing the Newton Rides West set along with the coordinating die set! It is so cute, you will squeal!

EEEEEEEEEEK!!!
I'm not really into Western stuff, but how can I NOT love this set!!?
I wanted to use all of the images but unfortunately, I ran out of time...(because I am such a slow stamper!), but I did manage to make 2 cards!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Rides West Set - Naki Rager

First up is this little calico playing a sheriff on his horse!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Rides West Set - Naki Rager

He is just sooooo stinkin' cute!
He was stamped with antique linen distressed ink on watercolor paper, colored with antique linen distressed ink, Zig Clean Color Real Brush set, and SU Reinkers, then die cut with the coordinating die set. I messed up the star on his hat, so I placed a gold star confetti and it was a perfect fit! Woo hoo! I love when things work out well!

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Rides West Set - Naki Rager

He goes up and down riding his horse, isn't her just the cutest little sheriff!?
I thought stamping all these little images all over would look playful and cute like my sheriff ;-) More gold stars were sprinkled to add more fun ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Rides West Set - Naki Rager

You probably know by now that I am pretty silly...:-D
When I hear Western, I think of "Buford Tannen AKA mad dog" from the Back to the Future 3 movie...{LOL} Well, this kitty on the wanted list isn't anything like Buford, but he was my inspiration for this design (I am cracking up laughing as I am typing this up!) LOL

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Rides West Set - Naki Rager

All the images were heat embossed with espresso brown and dark brown colored pencil was used for shadowing. As you can see, I distressed this panel, REALLY distressed it! I even created a few bullet holes, too! It was fun! Distressing cardstock is always fun ;-) {giggle}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton Rides West Set - Naki Rager

I have this pack of distressed look patterned paper, and there was this brick wall one!
Wasn't it just perfect to slap on my wanted poster!? I added a couple of wooden stars and a feather, and skinny washi tape with gold stars, done!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 3

Wednesday, June 14, 2017

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs June Release!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 3  and we are showcasing 2 fun sets, "Cuppa Cactus" and "Cultivated Cacti" set! I have aways LOVED cacti (but my black thumb killed several of them and now I stop myself from picking them up when I see them at the store...LOL), so I was so very happy to see these cute cactus stamps!

Ohhh my goodness!
This is called Cuppa Cactus ;-)
Isn't this the most adorable and unique set you've ever seen!?

And here's Cultivated Cacti set ;-)
I LOVE how you can mix and match different cacti and plant pots!
So many possibilities!

Alright, I have made 4 cards (can you tell I really enjoyed these sets!?), here we go!

Newton's Nook Designs Cuppa Cactus Set - Naki Rager

EEEEEEEEK!!!
I am just so in LOVE with these little prickly guys in cups! I mean, how stinkin' cute and fun!!! I thought it might be fun to have "prickly" things like the triangle background and stars all over the card ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cuppa Cactus Set - Naki Rager

My little prickly was stamped with antique linen distressed ink on watercolor paper, watercolored, then fussy cut. Why did I fussy cut?  For some reason, I forgot that I had the coordinating die set...{LOL} I borrowed that pair of glasses from the Newton's Book Club set, only the glasses were inked up to stamp, then I traced the outline with a black gel pen and fussy cut. Doesn't she look sharp with her glasses!? ;-) The sentiment was heat embossed with black on watercolor paper after sponging with distressed oxide ink and splattered some water.

Newton's Nook Designs Cuppa Cactus Set - Naki Rager

I am pretty excited about this second card with the Cuppa Cactus set!
As soon as I saw this set, I wanted to make these yellow caution tapes! Isn't it fun!? We put yellow tape on our front porch every Halloween, so I guess I have a thing for yellow tapes...{LOL} I placed a piece of painter's tape and used the flat paint brush and yellow ink to draw the tapes. After it was all dried, I heat embossed the sentiment with black.

Newton's Nook Designs Cuppa Cactus Set - Naki Rager

"I'm a little prickly before my coffee!" is exactly how I am! Maybe more than just "a little"...{LOL} The cactus in a cup image was stamped with antique linen distressed ink on watercolor paper, watercolored, and fussy cut. I actually messed up the orange flower so I stamped and colored again then paper pieced it, and I liked that little bit of dimension so I did the yellow flower as well ;-) The lines on the cup was traced with the gold watercolor to give some sparkle, and I thought a little gold flower sequin would look really cute!

Newton's Nook Designs Cultivated Cacti Set - Naki Rager

Now my first card with the Cultivated Cacti set!
I am sticking with the prickly/pointy theme here {LOL}
The background was embossed with triangle embossing folder on my favorite, linen cardstock ;-) I just LOVE the texture on them!

Newton's Nook Designs Cultivated Cacti Set - Naki Rager

How much do you love this sentiment!!? {LOL}
Oh man...it cracks me up every time I see it! :-D I love it so much, I had to heat emboss it separately with gold and pop it on! My beautiful cacti were both heat embossed with green and a little bit of gold, I thought dipping them in gold might be fun ;-) It's a pretty simply design but I love how it turned out!

Newton's Nook Designs Cultivated Cacti Set - Naki Rager

Last but not least, my second card with the Cultivated Cacti set ;-)
This one is also simple but very organic! I immediately grabbed the hexagon die because it looks like those pretty glass dome things that you plant pretty succulents in ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Cultivated Cacti Set - Naki Rager

After inking up the aloe stamp with antique linen distressed ink, I applied some water directly on it with a paint brush then stamped onto watercolor paper. I colored it with green, purple, and yellow. I did the same thing with the pot image but I used the orange. I applied a bit too much water on this one so the stamped image didn't show the beautiful details, but no worries! I traced it with red ink and ta-da! The background was colored with light blue, then some water splatters were applied. I love this little sentiment, so cute, isn't it!? It was heat embossed on vellum (I know, refreshing...LOL) and since I didn't have the right size speech bubble die, I drew the outline with white gel pen and made my own ;-)

{Would you like to win the Cuppa Cactus or the Cultivated Cactus” stamp set?}
Each of these sets will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 2

Tuesday, June 13, 2017

Hello, Newton lovers!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs June Release!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is day 2 and we are showcasing this beautiful Furrever Friends set

We all love our fur babies, don't we?
That's why saying good-bye to them hurts so badly...:-(
Jen made this beautiful set so we can show our family and friends our love and support in a difficult time. Isn't this just sweet? :-)
Here are my cards ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Purrfect Friends Set - Naki Rager

We all believe our beloved fur babies go to animal heaven, don't we?
So that is exactly what I made :-)

Newton's Nook Designs Purrfect Friends Set - Naki Rager

Here is one of the pup images that I heat embossed with snowflake tinsel embossing powder and fussy cut. I also heat embossed 2 wings with enchanted gold embossing powder and fussy cut. The sentiment "some angels have fur" was heat embossed with smoky slate embossing powder, and the halo was heat embossed with enchanted gold embossing powder.

Newton's Nook Designs Purrfect Friends Set - Naki Rager

I sponged some fluffy clouds with gold ink because I thought that heaven would be all sparkly and pretty ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Purrfect Friends Set - Naki Rager

I have another card with a kitty as well :-)
Again, with the same heaven concept but some sponged sun rays with gold this time :-)

Newton's Nook Designs Purrfect Friends Set - Naki Rager

My little angel kitty was heat embossed with snowflake tinsel embossing powder, and her wings and halo were heat embossed with enchanted gold embossing powder just like the angel pup. She is sitting on a vellum cloud with heat embossed outline.

Newton's Nook Designs Purrfect Friends Set - Naki Rager

I really, really adore one of the sentiments that say "would not have been long enough", which is supposed to go with "forever". Isn't it just so true and beautiful? Well, I lost my 18 year old cat in December, I knew it was going to happen someday but when I actually found her collapsed on the basement floor one night, my heart dropped. Then you know what happened? My German Shephard Lulu, and my 2 sister cats Chocolate and Jellybean all had to leave us one by one in a row after my oldest Himawari (sunflower for Japanese). So as much as I love that sentiment, I just couldn't bring myself to use it... "forever remembered" is so very true, too though, right?

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 1

Monday, June 12, 2017

Hello, my lovelies! I'm so glad you stopped in!
Welcome to the Newton's Nook Designs June Release!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop ;-)
On day 1, we are showcasing this absolutely adorable Terrific Terriers Set along with the coordinating die set! This set will make all you terrier lovers go squeal for sure!

I'm not too familiar with terriers. In fact, when I hear terrier, the first breed I think of is bull terrier! Not exactly these fluffy cuties in this set here...{LOL}
Anyway, here is my take...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Terrific Terriers Set - Naki Rager

I was so excited to color this pretty pup with her long fur!
She is so pretty, she won a ribbon at a dog show!? ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Terrific Terriers Set - Naki Rager

I stamped this beautiful pup with Antique Linen Distressed Ink on watercolor paper, colored her shiny coat of fur and cute little nose with a few shades of brown, her bow with yellows, and her tongue and inside of the ears with pale pink, then die cut it with the coordinating die. Her precious blue ribbon was also watercolored and die cut, and the paw print was heat embossed with copper.

Newton's Nook Designs Terrific Terriers Set - Naki Rager

I wanted to heat embossed a few paw prints with copper also, and I figured a simple background makes them really pop! I didn't want to hide the background so I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum. A little strip of blue patterned paper was added on the right side of the base and done! ;-)

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 411

Sunday, June 11, 2017

Hello lovelies!
It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge! Woot!
This week's sponsor is Inspired by Stamping!
They have seriously awesome stamps and dies along with lovely embellishments and patterned paper, make sure you head over to their shop!

I know! My name is written all over this theme!!!
Such a perfect theme for our last challenge before the 2 week summer break!
You will have 3 whole weeks to link up your beautiful creation, so enjoy!

The sponsor gave us the DT members a fabulous discount so we could pick up their products to showcase, thank you very much!
I just LOVEd their shabby chic embellies, I was totally inspired by that!
Is this sweet enough for you!? ;-)

So I picked up this gorgeous Love Sentiment Die, a couple of the Crochet Trim Collections, and the Vintage Floral Paper Pad from them!
I die cut the Heat of Gold from yellow vellum, adhered it onto one of the beautiful patterned papers then trimmed it. I watercolored a piece of scrap watercolor paper with pink, yellow, and teal and die cut with the Love Sentiment Die. I also die cut 2 more from 2 shades of pink and layered them for a dimension. DO you like that gorgeous paper rose? It was a free gift with my order, which is also available for purchase. I definitely go back to their store and order them, so delicate and beautiful! I love crochet trims, and this one I used is just divine! A little snippet of it adds so much drama!

I die cut this beautiful mint paper (also from the Vintage Floral Paper Pad) with the stitched banner die, mounted onto the vellum with the bold white stripes, and added some zig zag stitches on the top. A few sequins in mint, pink, and clear were sprinkled for more girliness and done!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

This post will be my last one on the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog, I have decided to not return for the next term... I have been on this fabulous DT for 2 full years, and I have met so many wonderful, talented people, including very sweet and generous sponsors! Thank you so very much to my lovely teammates, you girls are truly awesome and I am so happy to have "met" you all :-) I hope I will have a chance to visit you guys in the future!
