Freshly Made Sketches 171

Saturday, January 31, 2015

Hello, hello!
Today I am playing along with one of my favorite challenges, Freshly Made Sketches!

Even when I wasn't stamping much, I was still following their site.
This week's sketch screamed at me to play, isn't it just fabulous!?

I was going through my dies and when I saw the File Tabs Edgelits, this design came to me. I used the new Stacked With Love DSP Stack from the Occasions Catalog. The designs on them are all so lovely!

This card was really quick to make! You can change up the sentiment and embellishments, and it can be for any occasions!

My notes...

Stamp: Regarding Dahlias
Paper: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Typeset Speciality DSP, Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Ink: Memento Black
Accessory: Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Tool: File Tabs Edgelits Die, sweetheart Punch

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge

Friday, January 30, 2015

Hi there, friends!
It is time for another Double Dare Challenge!

Lost Lagoon

Use Product(s) from the Occasions Catalog

My favorite out of the new Occasions catalog is the Celebrate Today bundle! As soon as I saw them, I was in love!! So naturally, that is what I picked. I have other favorites too, but that's another post for later...

Lost Lagoon is such a deep, rich, beautiful color!
I immediately paired it with the shiny, gorgeous Gold Foil Sheet.

I will be honest with you, after die cutting the 2 balloons and the little bow and tassel, I didn't know what to do with them, I had to walk away. Those pieces sat on my desk so sadly for a few day, but I decided I wanted to make a graduation card for my lovely niece in Japan (school there is from April to March), and the phrase "the sky's the limit" came to my head. You get the concept of this card, right;-)

I sponged the edges of the map and the base with Crumb cake ink  for my favorite vintage look, it just adds so much drama! I am pretty happy with how this card turned out!

My notes...

Stamp: Celebrate Today
Paper: Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon, Gold Foil Sheet, Typeset Speciality DSP
Ink: Crumb Cake, Versamark
Tool: Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Balloon Framelits Die, Little Letters Thinlits Die, Border Chevron Punch

Now let's all go to Nina's blog and find out what her beautiful card looks like! Then grab your favorite stamps and create something pretty, and post your link in the comment below!

Thank you so  much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 295

Monday, January 26, 2015

Hello there!
It is cold and snowing here in upstate NY, and my babies are napping, it was perfect time to craft a little...

So I decided to play along with Cupcake Inspirations Challenge again.
By the way, I was chosen for one of the sweet six for last week's card! Woo hoo!

Here's what I came up with...
Super easy!
My cherries were made with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch, and the Gumball Sweater Trim Ribbon that I got from the clearance rack. The faces were hand drawn.

Now that I am looking at the pictures of my card, maybe a little twin with a tag instead of the banners might have been a better choice...? What do you think?

My notes...

Stamp: Hip Notes
Paper: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Retired DSP
Ink: Gumball (Retired), Basic Black Stampin' Marker
Accessory: Gumball Sweater Trim Ribbon (Retired)
Tool: 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Banner Punch, Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals,

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Invitation

Friday, January 23, 2015

Hello there!

So when you have 4 kids and are chasing them all day everyday, time just gets away! And wow, in about 5 weeks, my oldest son will be 5 years old! Now that he is in pre-school and has friends, I am throwing him a big party, and these are the invitations.
My husband's little cousin (I call him a little cousin because he was 4 years old when we got married, and I still see him as that little boy...) is a firefighter, and his station has this party room that people can rent. What little kid doesn't like firefighters, right!

So for that obvious reason, I chose the firetruck stamp.
I typed up the information on the computer and printed them out.
I realized I didn't have enough envelopes so I scored a 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" base card at 3" and 7-1/8", that gave an 1/8" overlap on the front. Use the Deco Label as a closure, I didn't need envelopes!

I can't seem to say good-bye to some retired stamps and The Dot, Dot, Dot stamp is one of them. I was really glad I had it since I didn't have any black and white DSP!

My notes...

Stamps: You're My Hero, Dot, Dot, Dot (Both Retired)
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Memento Black
Accessory: Basic black 1/8" Ribbon
Tool: Deco Labels Collection Framelits Die, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you very much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 294

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

Hello there!
Today I have 2 cards that I played along with Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!

This week's challenge looks so yummy and lovely!
Here is what I came up with...

This awesome chevron stripe die is not from Stampin' Up! but when I saw the inspirational photo, I wanted to use it.
Since I cut 2 colors, I made 2 cards.

I thought the stripes were pretty busy by themselves so only a little bit of embellishments were  needed. I pulled out this retired but beautiful Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon that my dear friend Nina gave me and made a flower.

Originally, I was just going to make a duplicate but that's boring, right!?
So, since the first card is very feminine, I thought a gentleman card might be fun!

They were pretty quick to make, but it was fun!

my notes...

Stamp: Just Sayin'
Paper: Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Smokey Slate, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessory: Retired Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon
Tool: Mustache and Word Bubbles Framelits Dies, None-SU Chevron Stripe Die

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Return of.......

Friday, January 16, 2015

Hello there, welcome back!

My lovely friend Nina Dee and I have been talking about how we have missed our challenge together, and decided we'll give it a try again!
It won't be weekly, we will try monthly for now and hopefully it'll be at least bi-weekly eventually!

So here we go with our first post of Double Dare Challenge!

Polka Dots

Gold

A million thanks to my very talented partner in crime, Nina, for the freshly redesigned badges! Aren't they lovely!?

So our new obsession is GOLD!
I used this circle stamp from a retired set Dear Santa.
I never understood the use for this stamp in the set but now I sure am glad I remembered about it!
This Thanks die is not from Stampin' Up!, and as a demo, I am not supposed to mention it on my blog... but it is one of my favorite things....

I am very cheap when it comes to my DSP (LOL)
I saved the negative part of the Gold Glimmer Paper, and used it on the inside of another card. I placed one of the Sweet Sadie Washi Tape very carefully and lined up the stripes, then layered the negative thanks on top. Isn't it cute!?

My notes...

Stamp set: Dear Santa (Retired)
Paper: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Gold Glimmer
Ink: Metallic God Encore Pad
Tool: Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, None-SU Die
Accessory: Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape

I think it's time to visit my very talented friend Nina and check out what she's created!

Thank you very much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Make a Wish

Friday, January 9, 2015

Hello there! It has been a long time!

I was on a very long "maternity leave" sort of speak...
My twins are now 17 months old and getting more and more independent everyday!
Then why haven't I been crafting? Well, I had a baby girl in September...ha ha
She was a total surprise, especially my husband and I never thought I could get pregnant naturally! The twins and the baby girl are 12 months apart so we call them "Irish triplets". I don't know which was harder, pregnant with the twins, or pregnant while taking care of them...

Anyway, I have made a few cards when I needed them.
It just takes me days to finish one!
I really liked this one and wanted to share with you when I found the time.
So here it is!

This card is from October, made for my mother-in-law's birthday.
I wanted to use the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, then I had the stencil that I wanted to try out. So without trying, this card had become very starry!
The color scheme was another thing, I picked my most favorite color, Pool Party, because it just looks fabulous against pearly, bright Whisper White, then very odd thing, I picked Tangerine Tango, which I rarely use! but I'm glad I did, because it looks so fun with Pool Party!

More stars and a banner complete this card!
I wanted the banner to be random and eclectic, but I am not good with random and ended up with a patterned one...lol I think random is harder!!

My notes...

Stamp set: Perfect Pennants
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Champagne Glimmer, Retired DSP
Ink: Versamark, Pool Party
Tool: Heat Tool, Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder, Stars Framelits Dies, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Set, Glue Dots
Accessory: Pool Party Ribbon (Last Year's SAB)

Hope you enjoyed it!
