Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 329

Sunday, September 27, 2015

Hi there!
It's Sunday, and time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Oddball Art :-)

Oooh, how fun is this theme!?
Here is my take!

The sponsor provided us a few digi images, and I picked this cute little unicorn guy:-) Her designs are so funky and quirky, they're all so fun!

So when I hear the word magical, I think of sparkly pixie dust, and lots of colors.
I colored this cute little guy with Crisp Cantaloupe, the heart with Pool Party, and his horn with the gold glitter pen.

I colored the background with Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, So Saffron, and Wisteria Wonder. This image came with this cloud and raindrops, so instead of using the image, I die cut the cloud to add some "pixie dust". I also glued some of the confetti and star sequins on the water colored background like it was raining magical dust ;-)

I layered the water colored piece on the vellum with stars, and one of the patterned papers from the Sweet Sorbet DSP pack. It needed just a little more color so I added a small piece of the Gold Foil Sheet with a bunch of little stars punched out.

My notes...

Stamp: Kawaii Unicorn with Rain cloud (Oddball Art)
Paper: Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, Gold Foil Sheet, Window Sheet, Sweet Sorbet DSP, Vellum with Stars (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder, Wink of Stella Gold Glitter Pen
Accessory: In-Color Sequin Assortment, Confetti (Martha Stewart)
Tool: Clouds Wise Die (Paper Smooches), Foam Tape, Stampin' Dimensionals,

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Now let's head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the team's magical creations!

Inky Paws Challenge

Saturday, September 26, 2015

Hello there!
I am playing along with the Inky Paws Challenge over at Newton's Nook Designs;-)

Before you keep on scrolling down, I probably should give a little warning....
If you get scared easily, be brave, it may be too much for you to handle...
Ready!?

Ahhhh! Zombie kitty!!!! *LOL*

Poor Newton...all rotten and green...
I LOVE Halloween, but I do NOT like horror movies! but I love anything with zombies! I know, so weird...LOL My husband plays the Resident Evil games, and I love watching him play! I could never play myself, I am too chicken!!
So, since I don't own any Halloween sets from Newton's Nook, I made a zombie kitty. I must say though, he is one cute zombie...*Ha Ha* I water colored him with Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze. I also water colored those tomb stones with the same colors.

I got this awesome Halloween die set from MFT last year, but never made anything with it. It comes with creepy but cute fences, tree, ghosts, bats,etc... I die cut the tree and the fences in Basic Black. My pretty blue moon was punched out in that blue vellum. The background was water colored with Elegant Eggplant, then those little stars were heat embossed with silver emboss powder.

It needed a pop of color, so I added a few orange sequins, then I remembered I had some fun, Halloween sequins that I bought years ago. I added some bats and pumpkins. I thought it might be a bit too much, but I like it! What do you think?

My notes...

Stamp: Newton's Sick Day (Newton's Nook Designs), Stars Background (DRS Designs)
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Watercolor Paper, Gold Foil Sheet, Howlstooth and Scarybone DSP, Blue Vellum (Studio Calico)
Ink: Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Versamark
Accessory: Halloween Sequins (Joann Fabric), Orange Sequins, Googlie Eyes
Tool: Heat Tool, Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Die-namics Spooky Scene (My Favorite Things), Sewing Machine

Sketch For You To Try

Thursday, September 24, 2015

Hello, hello!
Today I have a card I made for the Sketch For You To Try Challenge over at Reverse Confetti!

SEPT15_SFYTT

Here is my take;-)

Welcome to the cutest little circus!
The Leaping Lions set is SO CUTE!

I first stamped this cute lion twice, fussy cut just the bottom of one of the image to mask the other, then stamped the stand. Coloring him was fun! I used Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie for him, Pool Party and Calypso Coral for the stand.
I punched 2-1/2" circles in the World Spectacular DSP. It is good to hoard save old DSP packs, they come in handy...*wink*

More patterned papers from the World Spectacular DSP pack! I have always loved that ticket one, so fun!

I water colored the background with Pumpkin Pie but did not like it. So I turned it over and left it all white. Well, I didn't really like that either, so I stamped the bunting and water colored it with Pumpkin Pie, and I love it!

I think this card turned out so much more fun than I pictured in my head!

My notes...

Stamp: Leaping Lions (Reverse Confetti)
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Watercolor Paper, World Spectacular DSP
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Stazon
Tool: 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Paintbrush, Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Lawnscaping Challenge

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Hello there!
Today I am playing along with the Lawnscaping Challenge!

This is actually pretty difficult, don't you agree!?
Well, here is my one layer card!

I knew I wanted to watercolor, it just gives so much drama!

I went through my Lawn Fawn stamp collection to pick which set to use, I just love my little crayon! Besides, this sentiment is perfect! ;-)
I heat embossed the sentiment then used the smooshing technique.

I die cut crayons in those 5 colors then realized that would be another layer! So I heat embossed one crayon, colored it with Calypso Coral instead.
I used the heat tool for embossing and drying the ink so the card is warped...*oops*

My notes...

Stamp:  Color My World (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: Watercolor Paper
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie, Versamark
Tool: Heat Tool, White Stampin' Emboss Powder

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

i love you

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Hi there, lovelies!
I am playing along with 2 sparkly challenges today!

The design team made really pretty samples over at Sparkle and Shine Challenge, it totally inspired me to play along!

It's been a few weeks since I last played over at Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!

Here is my card ;-)

When I saw the samples over at Sparkle and Shine, I immediately thought of this stamp set, Best Buds from Paper Smooches! I love this set, it is so pretty! This is actually my first time inking up this set!

I started with my water colored background. I love the look of smooshing technique, but I find it quite difficult! Anyway, I used Pistachio Pudding, Gumball Green, then So Saffron. I heat embossed some splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge with white.
I also heat embossed those images with white, then water colored them. The sentiment was heat embossed with Gumball Green.

I layered the water colored piece on this patterned paper then sewed them together. Then just popped my pretty flowers. Pretty simple but it actually took longer than you think because of the coloring and fussy cutting. I truly enjoy watercolor so it was fun making this pretty card ;-)

My notes...

Stamp: Gorgeous Grunge, Best Buds (Paper Smooches)
Paper: Pistachio Pudding, Watercolor Paper, Sweet Sorbet DSP
Ink: Versamark, Pistachio Pudding, Gumball Green, So Saffron, Calypso Coral
Tool: Heat Tool, White and Gumball Green Stampin' Emboss Powder, Paintbrush, Sewing Machine, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Mixed Media Challenge

Monday, September 21, 2015

Hello there!
I found this fun challenge, Mixed Media Card Challenge, and of course I had to play along!
I love mixed media, there's so much fun packed into on one canvas! I am just a wanna-be, actually don't know anything about it. *hee hee*

This month's theme is friendship.
And here is what I came up with...

I have been still experimenting with my photo shoots... Trying different spots in the house, different backgrounds, etc... I am not crazy about that turquoise background, what do you think? It's my mat on the desk...

So I have this coffee set from Your Next Stamp that I had been dying to play with!
The set has many cute sentiments and one of them says "coffee + friends = the perfect blend". I die cut coffee and friends instead of using the stamp. "plus" was made with the Rotary Alphabet Stamp and Early Espresso Emboss Powder, then stained with the Crumb Cake Ink on watercolor paper.

I also heat embossed part of the sentiment. Layered on this perfect patterned paper from the This and That DSP (those circles look like coffee rings, and the design itself is so mixed media!) and this crinkled piece of the Crumb Cake cardstock.

This was so much fun to make :-)
I can't wait for the next challenge! ;-D

My notes...

Stamp: Rotary Alphabet, Thanks a Latte (Your Next Stamp)
Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Watercolor Paper, This and That DSP, I am Me DSP, Designed Vellum (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Crumb Cake, Versamark
Accessrory: Subtles Candy Dots, Essentials Wooden Elements
Tool: Heat Tool, Early Espresso Stampin' Emboss Powder, Crinkler, Fancy Coffee and Thanks a Latte Die Sets (Your Next Stamp),  The Big, The Bold, and Friends Cutaways (Winnie & Walter)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 328

Sunday, September 20, 2015

Hello, hello!
It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Sweet n' Sassy.

Fun colors, right!?
Here is my take...

The sponsor provided us a few digi images to choose from, and my pick was this adorable turtle! The challenge colors were perfect!

Isn't he cute!? I colored him with a few different shades of green.
I LOVE the Wonky Stitches Die from Avery Elle!
That cute little heart border is from Paper Smooches, I die cut in this red vellum. Isn't it just adorable!?

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, they send you a tiny stamp as a gift with your order:-)
I popped some clouds just because ;)
Of course I had to add some sequins too!

My notes...

Stamp:  Heart Balloons Turtle (Sweet n' Sassy), Smile (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: Whisper White, Red Vellum (Studio Calico)
Ink:  Real Red, Gumball Green, Garden Green, Certainly Celery
Accessory: Lime Sorbet Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Wonky Stitches Elle-ments Die (Avery Elle), Hearts and Clouds Wide Dies (Paper Smooches)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

NBUS Challenge

Tuesday, September 15, 2015

Hello there!
So I found this fun challenge NBUS, and decided to play along!

Now I know we all have some old stuff that we pretend we don't see but for some reason cannot get rid of! I have so many....
Well, here is my take!

I used this cute cat stamp from the set that came with the Baxter Cat Bundle. I bought the bundle months ago from Studio Calico, and haven't touched it until today!

This is my very first "sorry" card!
I used the smooshing technique with So Saffron, Pool Party, and Smokey Slate on Watercolor Paper. Then stamped my cute kitty and the little sentiment from the Naughty Newton set with Stazon, die cut a tear with the rain drops die from the Spring Showers Lawn Cuts. I can't seem to stay away from that die set!

I sewed the watercolor piece onto this patterned paper from the All is Calm SDSP, added a little piece of the Sweet Little Things Washi Tape along with a few yellow sequins.
I am very happy with how the background turned out, and finally got to use my kitty stamp!

My notes...

Stamp: Cats and Dogs Set (Studio Calico), Naughty Newton (Newton's Nook Designs)
Paper: Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, All is Calm SDSP, Light Blue Vellum (Studio Calico)
Ink: So Saffron, Pool Party, Smokey Slate, Stazon
Accessory: Sweet Little Things Washi Tape, Sequins
Tool: Sewing Machine

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 327

Sunday, September 13, 2015

Hi there!
This week's sponsor is The Ribbon Resource!

 Isn't this lovely!?
Here is my lacy card...

The sponsor generously provided us some pretty lace ribbons!
Thank you, Ribbon Resource :-)

I cut this black wide lace ribbon from the sponsor like a banner, then started piling up different Stampin' Up! ribbons on top of the paper doily.

I made this big flower with this white wide lace ribbon from the sponsor. I sewed the back to keep it together. Then used the 1/2" glue dot to place that pretty trinket.

I was planning on stamping a small sentiment but I kind of went crazy with the ribbons and ran out of room *oops* So I just added a few Enamel Dew Drops from Freckled Fawns, the color is very very close to Crisp Cantaloupe! So lovely :-D

My notes...

Paper: Crumb Cake
Accessory: Gold 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Crisp Cantaloupe Ribbon, Crochet Trim Ribbon, Black and White Wide Lace Ribbons (The Ribbon Resource), Tea Lace Paper Doily, Something Borrowed Embellishment, Enamel Dew Drops (Freckled Fawn)
Tool: Essentials:Audrey Cutaways (Winnie & Walter), Sewing Machine, 1/2" Glue Dots

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge site and check out what the rest of the team made this week!

Pals Paper Arts 267

Friday, September 11, 2015

Hi there, lovelies!
I am playing along with the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge today!

PPA267

Pretty color combo!
Here is my take...

So my oldest son rides the school bus with this boy who lives on the same street. He told me that he is going to be his best friend *giggle* so cute;-)
So I thought I'd send a note to his mom to see if the boys could play together after school. Why not send one of my cards, right!?

I have wanted to play with these little houses, but just hadn't had any occasions for it. I thought this was the time! :-D
I stamped 2 of the house images from the set with Stazon then used the challenge colors to color them. I also colored the sky with Pool Party.

These stitched clouds are just too cute not to use when I have a nice blue sky on my card! Isn't that tiny wooden cloud with hi just the most adorable way to greet!? i thought about coloring it white, but I liked how it stands out so I left it as is.

I die cut the grass but didn't like how it hid my little houses so I put it aside. But I really wanted some green there so trimmed it down and put it in between the houses, and I like it!

My notes...

Stamp:  Holiday Home
Paper: Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, Watercolor Paper, Sent With Love DSP, Design Vellum (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango Stampin' Markers
Accessory: Wood Clouds (Freckled Fawn)
Tool: Spring Showers and Grass Border Lawn Cuts (Lawn Fawn), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Lawnscaping Challenge

Friday, September 11, 2015

Hello my crafty friends!
I am sharing the card I made for the Lawnscaping Challenge today!

How fun is this!?
Here is my take...

I thought it would look cute in front of my cacti but not so much, is it.....*lol*

So the first thing that came to me was to use the metallic gold embossing paste!
okay, I just wanted to play with it, but it adds so much texture, right!?
I die cut one of the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn in wax paper, taped it down onto my watercolor paper, then applied the paste. I purposely made those lines (not that I could have smoothed it out if I tried...).

Who doesn't love this adorable cactus stamp from Lawn Fawn!?
I heat embossed it with the Gumball Green emboss powder to add another texture. Then I added that pretty little flower sequin, another texture!

More textures!
The yellow paper is color core cardstock from Core'dinations.
Then the smooth and shinny vellum clouds!
I just love the Spring Showers Lawn Cuts, so cute!!

This was really fun to make! And surprisingly, quite quick to make!
I think this card looks like a little child made it, must be the messy paste...but it was fun! That's what really matters, right!? *hee hee;-)*

My notes...

Stamp: Stuck on You (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: Gumball Green, Watercolor Paper, Design Vellum (Papertrey Ink), Color Core Cardstock (Core'dinations)
Ink: Versamark, Soft Sky
Accessory: Sweetheart Mix Flower Sequins (Paper Sweeties)
Tool: Heat Tool, Gumball Green and White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Stitched Hillside and Spring Showers Lawn Cuts (Lawn Fawn), Metallic Gold Embossing Paste (Dreamweaver Stencils)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
