Superhero Birthday

Thursday, March 29, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
I am making a quick stop to share this mini card (3-1/4" x 4-1/4") I made for one of my son's friends ;-) She likes Ninja Turtles so naturally, I thought of a superhero card for her, and I had been itching to play with this particular set...;-)
Here it goes!

So back in November, I was a little naughty and bought too many stamp sets during the  Black Friday sales, and I FINALLY got to play with this adorable Super Kids Stamp Set from Lil' Inker Designs! I also used the Seasonal Stars Die Set from them. After pairing these two sets, I had no other choice but to make a comic book themed card ;-) I die cut the frame with the Storybook 1 Dies from Pretty Pink Posh. The word BAM and the buildings are die cut with the Zappy Birthday Die Set from Papertrey Ink

I stamped this super adorable bunny with Black Soot Distress Ink on Neenah Cardstock and colored her with colored pencils. Isn't she absolutely adorable!? I thought I had the coordinating die set but I guess I chose one of their awesome Cover-Up Dies instead {LOL} so she was fussy cut ;-)

Her partner, super bear was stamped and colored the same way ;-)
I added little Golden Copper Stars Sequins from Studio Katia on their chests, and 1/4" Iridescent Star Confetti from Pretty Pink Posh on the night sky for a bit of sparkle ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs

Wednesday, March 28, 2018

Hi, there!
I'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog with a springy project today!
Sooo, is it spring!? I'm afraid to say it, winter might hear me and come back! {LOL}

Alright, here it goes ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Naughty Newton Set - Naki Rager

I like to give potted plants as gifts, especially for Easter πŸ£πŸ‡
Of course, I have to have some sort of tag to go with it ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Naughty Newton Set - Naki Rager

This adorable kitty is from the Naughty Newton Set ;-)
He is being naughty and knocking down one of the planters, but I think he was actually trying to plant pretty flowers but you know, he has paws not hands, so it's difficult...{LOL} I stamped this cutie with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper and did no-line coloring, then die cut with the coordinating die set.

Newton's Nook Designs Naughty Newton Set - Naki Rager

The Naughty Newton Set comes with cute sentiments, but since this Newton is actually being nice, they weren't going to work! So I borrowed this beautiful sentiment from the Happy Little Thoughts Set πŸ’— Gardening isn't my favorite activity BUT it means SPRING and I DO love pretty flowers 🌷🌼🌻 so I am looking forward to it! This sentiment is just perfect for people like me ;-)

This is my little oasis in my craft room πŸ’š
As you can see, my spider plant has so many babies and I'm very proud of them because I usually can't keep plants alive! (I have killed cacti 🌡 and they don't require a lot of care! LOL). I'm going to give them to my kids' teachers, better than candies, don't you think!? ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Have a happy Easter to those who celebrate πŸ£πŸ‡

Alright, here we go...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Essentials Set - Naki Rager

I LOVE these girls from the new Holding Happiness Set (revealed on Monday), and how perfect are they with the Birthday Essentials Set!?

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Essentials Set - Naki Rager

This is such a fun and beautiful sentiment!
Even though I was pairing it with an image, I still wanted the sentiment to be the focal point of this card, so heat embossing with glittery gold embossing powder seemed most appropriate ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Essentials Set - Naki Rager

My sweet girl was heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I did not color her because gold on coral was fancy enough! Plus, I wanted to embellish this scallop panel from the Frames & Flags Die Set with tiny confetti, which were die cut with the Balloon Shaker Die Set. I seemed to be a bit obsessed with them...{LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Essentials Set - Naki Rager

My second card is pretty simple but lots of fun!
I wanted to showcase as many sentiments in the set as I could, and this is what I did ;-)
I've actually made a similar card with the Sentiments Of The Season Set, but this time I did white embossing on kraft cardstock for more organic look ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Essentials Set - Naki Rager

Plus, I borrowed a few small images from the Sending Hugs Set to fill in some spaces ;-) Everything was heat embossed with white embossing powder, then added a few colors to tiny spots with colored pencils. Isn't it absolutely adorable!? ;-)

I have one more card to share today!
This one is CAS but that's actually perfect, isn't it!?

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Essentials Set - Naki Rager

This cute little snail from the In Slow Motion Set is one of my all-time-favorite imagesπŸ’—
He's just minding his own little business to deliver his little present and card, he might be a bit late but would you care!? I stamped him with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor and did some no-line coloring with the Pearlescent Watercolor Set. I colored some grass and sky then the sentiment was heat embossed with black embossing powder.

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Essentials Set - Naki Rager

I had to add some clouds with the Cloudy Sky Stencil and Texture Paste. I like to apply the paste lightly to create this "barely there" look ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 3 - Newton's Birthday Balloons Set

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs March Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop! Today is day 3 of the reveal and we're showcasing the Newton's Birthday Balloons Stamp Set along with the coordinating die set ;-)

Who's ready to purr-ty with this cutie with balloons!?
This image is just so stinkin' cute, and HELLO! These sentiments are killing me with cuteness πŸ’›
Okay, here they go...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Balloons Set - Naki Rager

My first card today is quite simple, just a lot of inks! {LOL}
My oldest turned 8 this month and he was born at night, so that kind of inspired me to create a night sky background ;-) Playing with Distress Oxide Inks is such a blast! I blended several colors on this card, and white splatters were created with white acrylic paint.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Balloons Set - Naki Rager

Oh my goodness, could he be any cuter!!?
After heat embossing this cute little guy on watercolor paper, I just started coloring him with a few shades of brown and somehow he ended up looking like "Neko Bus" from the Studio Ghibli film Totoro.

This movie is Japanese and 30 years old this summer! (WHAT!? HOW!!?) but if you haven't seen it, you must! I still remember going to the brand new theater with my mom and sister that summer night and totally believed that Totoro really existed! I once was innocent, too...{LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Balloons Set - Naki Rager

Anyhow! He was heat embossed with iridescent embossing powder, can you see the tiny sparkles!? The moonlight is shining on this cutie floating down from the night sky ;-) Yeahhh, I guess I still have a big imagination so my cards usually have little stories {LOL}

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Balloons Set - Naki Rager

I also heat embossed this sentiment with iridescent embossing powder, but it was kind of hard to see. Next time I will stamp with white ink ;-) 😜

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Balloons Set - Naki Rager

My second project with the Newton's Birthday Balloons Set is a little tag ;-)
Wouldn't it be so much fun to receive this cute purr-ty animal on a gift!?

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Balloons Set - Naki Rager

I stamped him on Artist Marker Paper and colored with colored pencils, then die cut it with the Fancy Edges Tags Die to remove his feet so that he looks like he's popping in where the purr-ty is! I also stamped and colored the kitty shaped balloon and fussy cut it to paper piece over the chopped image on the tag. I die cut the tiny confetti from washi tape sheets. I also gave him a purr-ty hat using the new Balloon Shaker Die Set ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Birthday Balloons Set - Naki Rager

This purr-ty ready tag can be attached to a little brown bag all by itself, or dress it up with a few embellishments!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release Day 2 - Uplifting Wishes Set + Balloon Shaker Die Set

Tuesday, March 13, 2018

Hi, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs March Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop
Today is day 2 of the reveal, and we're showcasing the Uplifting Wishes Stamp Set and the Balloon Shaker Die Set

EEEEEEEEK!!!
Another shaker die set! Are you as excited as I am!!? πŸ˜†
And look at this lovely stamp set to go with the shaker, so fun and adorable πŸ’—

Okay, here are my takes...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Uplifting Wishes Set + Balloon Shaker Die Set - Naki Rager

So for my first project, I made my whole card a shaker!
I die cut this beautiful scallop frame from the Frames & Flags Die Set and placed a piece of Acetate Sheets on the back to create this big shaker window.

Newton's Nook Designs Uplifting Wishes Set + Balloon Shaker Die Set - Naki Rager

Seriously, who doesn't love balloons!?
I die cut this solid balloon from gold vellum then heat embossed this awesome sentiment with white embossing powder. I just LOVE this stamp set, I think all the sentiments are fun with or without the balloon die, and it will be one of the most versatile sets ever!

Newton's Nook Designs Uplifting Wishes Set + Balloon Shaker Die Set - Naki Rager

I simply ADORE these small balloons and party hats and confetti! How fun are they!!? I die cut a whole bunch of them from metallic copper foil paper (I didn't use the tiny pieces because I was afraid of them flipping over!) and piled them up on my base card along with a bunch of bead seeds and clear confetti in circle and star shapes. I also used the Bubbly Stencil with Nuvo Glimmer Paste on the base, do you see those sparkly circles!!? That's them ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Uplifting Wishes Set + Balloon Shaker Die Set - Naki Rager

Here is my second card today! (sorry about the dark photos...)
Of course I had to make a balloon shaker!

Newton's Nook Designs Uplifting Wishes Set + Balloon Shaker Die Set - Naki Rager

I originally planned to have only one balloon, but I thought why only one!?
I started with die cutting a window with the solid balloon die from my front panel, then die cut the outline balloon from plum cardstock and Double Sided Adhesive Foam, and solid one again from the Acetate Sheets. I used the negative die cut piece as a stencil and sponged another balloon also.

Newton's Nook Designs Uplifting Wishes Set + Balloon Shaker Die Set - Naki Rager

I also sponged some adorable clouds on my base card with the Cloudy Sky Stencil, isn't it amazing how little things like these sponged clouds add so much to your design!? Jen's growing stencil line is simply awesome, I absolutely adore them πŸ’—

Newton's Nook Designs Uplifting Wishes Set + Balloon Shaker Die Set - Naki Rager

This sentiment from the new Uplifting Wishes Set is absolutely adorable πŸ’—, and this is what inspired me to come up with this design ;-) I'm telling you, this stamp set is so cute and so versatile, it is simply "a must have"! They'll look fabulous with the Balloon Shaker Die Set, or any other shapes or by themselves!
