Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 386

Sunday, November 27, 2016

Hello lovelies!
It is time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Kitty Bee Designs!
They have so many adorable images, make sure you visit them!

I LOVE this color combo!
It's so fresh and pretty!
Here is my take...;-)

Isn't this simply the sweetest!?

The sponsor provided us 2 cute images to work with this week, thank you so much!
I was going to make 2 cards with both images but I didn't have time! Ugh!
I printed this cutie on white cardstock, colored in with Spectrum Noir Markers, die cut it circle, then layered this pretty mint scallop. The moon was colored with light gray, and darker gray for some shadowing, then went over it with mint. I LOVE how it turned out!

I wanted "sweet" and "heart" sentiment dies but I just couldn't figure out a good placement, so I used a heart shape instead. This patterned paper has mint stars and little gray stars, just perfect!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 24, 2016

Hello lovelies!
Today I am playing along with 2 of my favorite challenges!
I know, I don't play challenges anymore, but these 2 inspired me!

This beautiful inspirational board is from the Pin-Sights Challenge over at Ellen Hutson.
I am in LOVE with all these gorgeous fall colors! But my favorite is the pumpkins!

And then here is the Mixed Media Card Challenge with a Thanksgiving theme!

Here is what I came up with...;-)

I really love the green and orange on those pumpkins in the Pin-Sights Photo, so that is exactly what I made;-)
I die cut 4 Thanks sentiments from white and adhered them on white panel. I then applied some embossing paste over the Stencil.

I started with water coloring orange and green on a piece of watercolor paper, die cut these gorgeous gourds from the orange and green. Then I removed those little pieces inside of them and placed the green pieces in the orange gourds just like the photo!
"Happy Thanksgiving" was heat embossed with copper, cut into 3 pieces randomly, then popped on over my beautiful pumpkin.

To repeat the gorgeous warm copper, I added a little snippet of copper thread and several copper sequins. I just love how this card turned out!

{my notes}

Stamp: Alphabet (SU!)
Paper: Bright White (Neenah), Watercolor Paper
Ink: Gumball Green, Tangelo Twist Reinkers (SU!), Versamark
Accessory: Metallic Copper Thread, Washi Tape (SU!), 4mm Copper Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Thanks Die (STAMPlorations), Gourd-jus Die (Ellen Hutson), Embossing Paste (Ranger), Splatter Stencil (Tim Holtz), Heat Tool, Copper Emboss Powder (SU!)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
If you're in the US, Happy Thanksgiving!

Newton's Nook Designs November Release Day 3 - Serene Silhouette Set + Coordinating Die Set

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Hi there!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs November Release!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 25 over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop along with their big, Black Friday Sale!
Today is day 3 of the reveal, and we are sharing the Serene Silhouette set!

SO.PRETTY.!!!!!
Need I say more...!? ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Serene Silhouette Set - Naki Rager

This card ended up being very different from my original design in my head...*LOL*
As I worked on this, my design kept changing and it looks like someone else made this card! *Hahaha*

Newton's Nook Designs Serene Silhouette Set - Naki Rager

The first thing I did was heat emboss these beautiful birches with white on gray.
They were die cut using the coordinating die set (love it!). I wanted to have one of the critters peeking out, and this deer was just perfect! He was heat embossed with clear on gray, die cut, then placed behind popped up birch. I applied some Perfect Pearl with a Q-tip to make his breath coming out of him.

Newton's Nook Designs Serene Silhouette Set - Naki Rager

Sparkly snow, sparkly sequins as falling snow, and I was done, but it was too monochromatic and boring so the little red bird decided to fly over.

Newton's Nook Designs Serene Silhouette Set - Naki Rager

I made another card ;-)
This one is located in the ice cold Arctic!

Newton's Nook Designs Serene Silhouette Set - Naki Rager

Here is a polar bear couple walking on snow, which was made with this fun, snow maker marker! All you need to do is apply the marker on your cardstock and heat it with your heat tool!
The bears were also heat embossed with clear. I accidentally got some white powder on them, but I liked them like this, it looks like they're being snowed on!

Newton's Nook Designs Serene Silhouette Set - Naki Rager

I water colored this panel trying to make a night sky (so why did I use purple and green!? I honestly don't know...lol), but it turned out looking more like aurora borealis and I LOVE it! I splattered silver ink with a paint brush all over, then also stamped a little snowflake with silver ink. The sentiment "Winter Friends Last Forever" was heat embossed with silver, and glittery silver washi tape was added on the top of the card.

Today is day 2, and we are sharing the Sweater Weather Set along with the coordinating die set, and the Fireside Friends set!

Oh my goodness!
Can you even stand how cute these little critters in cozy sweaters are!?

And then here is this set...!!!
So super sweet!
Did I just hear you say Awwwww!?

Here they go...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Sweater Weather Set - Naki Rager

This super adorable bunny and fox couple is out caroling!
Wouldn't it be so fun and cute if they'd really come to your door and sing!?

Newton's Nook Designs Sweater Weather Set - Naki Rager

This little foxy cutie was stamped with Memento Ink then colored in with the Spectrum Noir Markers then die cut with the coordinating die. Just adorable!!!

Newton's Nook Designs Sweater Weather Set - Naki Rager

And then here is Lilly the bunny, she was also stamped with Memento Ink, and I tried to color her with my Spectrum Noir Markers but for some reason I was having the most difficult time, so she was colored with my tiny collection of Copic Markers.

Newton's Nook Designs Sweater Weather Set - Naki Rager

This adorable patterned paper was just perfect!
All it needed was some music totes and Falala in a big speech bubble!

Newton's Nook Designs Fireside Friends Set - Naki Rager

Could this be any sweeter!!?
"Cozy" is the perfect word to describe this beautiful image!

Newton's Nook Designs Fireside Friends Set - Naki Rager

I wanted to showcase the warmth of the fire and peacefulness of being with loved one.
So I heat embossed the image with white then water colored. I must say, I felt very peaceful while coloring this! ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Fireside Friends Set - Naki Rager

Even this sentiment is so cozy and lovely!
See, I can't stay away from the Pines & Holly Die set!
I repeated the orange and blue, and the pines on the fireplace from the image.

Newton's Nook Designs Fireside Friends Set - Naki Rager

The watercolor panel was sewn onto my base card to add more homey feel, and watercolor paper was warped so this will keep it in place ;-)
Of course I had to add some sequins, I chose the warm copper.

Newton's Nook Designs November Release Day 1 - Joyful Tags Set

Monday, November 21, 2016

Hello there Newton lovers!
Welcome to day 1 of the Newton's Nook Designs November Release!
All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 25th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop! Not only that, we will be having Black Friday Sale at the same time (what!!?) so don't miss it!

Today we are sharing this fabulous set "Joyful Tags".

Aren't these just awesome!
Previously released the Tags Times Two Die Set coordinates these little cuties so cutting them is super easy!

I had so much fun with this set, I made a few things ;-)
Here they go!

Newton's Nook Designs Joyful Tags Set - Naki Rager

Here is my take one!
I love white on kraft, and that's exactly what I did here!
I added the tag like it is on a present, can you see that!?

Newton's Nook Designs Joyful Tags Set - Naki Rager

Well, wouldn't you like a receive a pretty present with a kitty sitting on it!?
This orange kitty wandered over here from the Newton's Antics set, so cute!
I can't seem to stay away from the Pines & Holly Die set...*Hee Hee*

Newton's Nook Designs Joyful Tags Set - Naki Rager

My second project is this cute little tag!
I know, again with the white on kraft...;-p It's beautiful though, right!?
I added a Santa hat and a couple candy canes from the Ornamental Newton set for a pop of red. I added a crochet trim and linen twine for a rustic look.

Newton's Nook Designs Joyful Tags Set - Naki Rager

Three of the images from the new Joyful Tags set were used on my third project.

Newton's Nook Designs Joyful Tags Set - Naki Rager

I heat embossed the small images with copper on vellum, die cut, and popped up like ornaments. I die cut another round tag from champagne glimmer paper, not quite copper but pretty close. I also used the copper thread and copper sequins.

Newton's Nook Designs Joyful Tags Set - Naki Rager

This gorgeous sentiment is one of the tags, I inked up only the inside image with versamark marker and heat embossed right on the base panel with copper. Clear sequins were added to repeat the vellum from the right side of the card.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 385

Sunday, November 20, 2016

Hello lovelies!
It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!
This week's sponsor is Lawn Fawn!
One lucky winner will receive a stamp set and a 6"x6" Patterned Paper Pad of their choice from them! Wow! So generous of Kelly! Thank you!

We have a theme challenge for you this week!
Oh my goodness, I just LOVE these simple little cupcakes!
So stinkin' cute!!!
Here is my take...;-)

So we all know very well that Lawn Fawn has such cute images with punny sentiments, and amazing dies! Well, I was so very much inspired by the cupcake photo and wanted to use their alphabet set.

The Owen's ABCs set is such a fun and cute alphabet set!
I heat embossed thanks with white on kraft then used the 1/2" Circle Punch.
I sewed those skinny banners then adhered the thanks on them.

I wanted a super CAS design just like the photo.
I sponged Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade Distressed Ink onto watercolor paper, splattered some water with a paint brush, then lightly stamped that teeny tiny heart from the Get Well Soon Set with gold ink.

{my notes}
