Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 445

Monday, April 30, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Newton's Nook Designs is sponsoring the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge and I am joining in the fun! Check out the theme below! ;-)

So how to play this challenge is, they have theme week and color week along with an inspirational picture of cupcakes. You must use the theme/color combo of the week to create your project, and if the cupcake picture inspires you, go ahead and use it but not required to. Fun, isn't it!?

Here goes my card...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Wedding Frills Set - Naki Rager

For today's floral card, I used the just-released Wedding Frills Set and the Essential Alphabet Die Set ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Wedding Frills Set - Naki Rager

I heat embossed this beautiful image with gold embossing powder on watercolor paper and colored with poppy, orange, black, green, and light blue watercolor. I then did a lot of fussy cutting and popped them on different levels to create this cluster of flowers!

I used the Essential Alphabet Die Set to create this big and bold sentiment! I placed the letters on white cardstock and kept them in place with washi tape while running through my Big Shot, and I mounted it on black cardstock. I sprinkled some sparkling clear sequins as finishing touch, of course ;-) I LOVE how this card turned out! Hope you do, too!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release Day 4

Thursday, April 19, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome to the final day of the Newton's Nook Designs April Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase tomorrow Friday the 20th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop! Woo Hoo!
Today we have 2 3"x4" stamp sets, called "Little Lilies" and "April Showers".

Lily of the Valley is one of my favorite flowers!
They're so tiny and dainty, I'm so happy that Jen made this beautiful little stamp set πŸ’™

Who else loves these little big seasonal sentiment sets!?
It all started with the fall set, and now we have this adorable spring on with those adorable tiny images! πŸ’›

Alright, let's move onto my projects...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Little Lilies Set - Naki Rager

First I sponged the background with Tattered Rose and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink and splattered some water, I was picturing a beautiful sunrise πŸŒ„ I then die cut my "soil" with the Land Borders Die Set from this patterned paper to create a garden.

Newton's Nook Designs Little Lilies Set - Naki Rager

I wanted to color them light purple just like the one we have in our garden, so I stamped the image with Broken China Distress Ink on watercolor paper and did some no-line watercolor. I picked blue because both green and purple have blue in them so I figured it'd make it easier to blend colors. The sentiment was heat embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder, added a few droplets and sparkling clear sequins as the morning dewπŸŒ·πŸ’§

Newton's Nook Designs April Showers Set - Naki Rager

My Spring Shower card is also a garden!
Well, this one is more like a field filled with pretty wildflowers πŸ˜‰
I die cut the scallop frame with the Frames & Flags Die Set from white cardstock,
sponged it with a sponge to get this gloomy sky, stamped my little flowers and butterflies, then heat embossed the sentiment with chartreuse embossing powder.

Newton's Nook Designs April Showers Set - Naki Rager

I colored the flowers, butterflies, and the grass with colored pencils, then stamped the umbrella on a scrap, colored with colored pencils, fussy cut it, then glued it to the front panel. I added Silver Lining Nuvo Crystal Drops to the metal bar, white to the little flower petals that are with the sentiment, also Sugared Almond to the center of them. A few 3mm sparkling clear sequins were added as the rain and done! This little stamp set gives you everything you need to create a whole scenery!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release Day 3

Wednesday, April 18, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs April Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 20th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today is our 3rd day of the reveal and we're showcasing this super adorable "Umbrella Pals" stamp set along with the coordinating die set!

OH.MY.GOODNESS.!!!
Now how stinkin' cute are these critter umbrellas!!? πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’™
Here go my projects...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

Seriously, they can't get any cuter than this!!! πŸ˜†
I wanted the background to be rainy but still bright and fun, so I watercolored with Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, and a hint of Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink, then splattered white ink all over as the rain.

Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

I had a few different designs and was working on one of them, but I totally lost to the temptation and started another in the middle of the first project! Sometimes that leads to a totally different design and this card is one of those {LOL} I couldn't help myself, It was just too much fun coloring and assembling these little umbrellas! So that's why I have heat embossed, some stamped and die cut...😝

Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

I mean, just look at them! Every critter in this set is soooo cute πŸ’›

Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

My youngest LOVES to get rained/snowed on her face, and I love seeing her big smile πŸ’™ I personally don't mind rain myself either, but she sure does make any rainy days brighter πŸ˜‰ The cloud was die cut with the Sky Borders Die Set from Vellum, I actually angled the die to get one side lower than the other to fit the sentiment on.

Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

My second card of the day is probably the quickest card to make, ever!
First I sponged the big circle with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Ink, splattered some water, then heat embossed the sentiment and the raindrops with white embossing powder. I borrowed cute little clouds from the Newton Scoots By Set and die cut them from the Linen Cardstock and popped them on with foam tape. I filled in the raindrops with the Silver Lining Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Newton's Nook Designs Umbrella Pals Set - Naki Rager

Of course, I had to use this bonus stitched umbrella die! I die cut the umbrella and the handle from this yellow striped patterned paper, isn't it adorable!?
This sentiment is very sweet πŸ’› It was heat embossed with light gray embossing powder to match the umbrella, I also die cut the little heart from the Newton Scoots By Set just because ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs April Release Day 2

Tuesday, April 17, 2018

Hi, there!
Welcome back to the Newton's Nook Designs April Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 20th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop
Today is our second day of the reveal and we have this gorgeous set called "Wedding Frills" along with the coordinating die set, PLUS the Floral Lace Stencil πŸ’—

Aren't these lacey flowers just gorgeous!?
It's so delicate and elegant πŸ’—

Isn't this simply beautiful!?
It kind of reminds me of kimonos πŸ’—

Okay, here are my cards with these beauties ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Wedding Frills Set - Naki Rager

My first card is this very romantic, rustic wedding card πŸ’›
I layered several different textures starting with the wide Jude ribbon, gold satin ribbon and light aqua cotton ribbon, crepe paper ruffle, tulle ruffle, strips of heat embossed flowers, kraft flower, and the light aqua cardstock.

Newton's Nook Designs Wedding Frills Set - Naki Rager

This gorgeous image was heat embossed with weathered white embossing powder on vellum to imitate the vintage laces. Doesn't this look amazing laying on all these textures!?

Newton's Nook Designs Wedding Frills Set - Naki Rager

This sweet sentiment was also heat embossed with the weathered white embossing powder, die cut with the circle die from the Wedding Frills Die Set, and mounted on this sweet little kraft crepe paper flower πŸ’›

Newton's Nook Designs Wedding Frills Set - Naki Rager

My second card is also rustic, this one isn't necessarily a wedding card tho ;-)
Before I used the embossing paste with the new Floral Lace Stencil, I actually foiled one. It's absolutely beautiful but it was also very fancy looking and I'm not fancy at all {LOL} Embossing powder on kraft cardstock seemed more me ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Wedding Frills Set - Naki Rager

I die cut the sentiment with the Essential Alphabet Die Set. The letters were adhered on the stitched banner from the Frames & Flags Die set. Then the banner was mounted over a strip of fringe, and the little lace flower, which was heat embossed with white embossing powder on vellum, was popped on. Pretty simple but do you really need more than this when you have such a gorgeous background!? I think not...;-)

Newton's Nook Designs April Release Day 1

Monday, April 16, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Today kicks off the Newton's Nook Designs April Release, woo hoo!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 20th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop
On day 1, we're revealing this adorable stamp set called "Newton's Graduation" along with the coordinating die set, PLUS the Essential Alphabet Die Set πŸ’›

Isn't Newton the most adorable grad you've ever seen!!?
I LOVE the sentiments in this set, too πŸ’™

I am so very very excited about this alphabet die set!
They are about 1" tall and just perfect to create your own fun sentiments!

Alright, here are my cards πŸ˜‰

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Graduation Set - Naki Rager

When my hubby graduated from college, his little cousin was only 6 years old and now, he is graduating from the same college this year! That boy ages me more than anything! {LOL} I am so proud of him, he's such a hard worker! So this dramatic, celebratory sunburst seemed perfect for this card ;-)

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Graduation Set - Naki Rager

They have this adorable and rambunctious orange tiger cat, Gerald, that they adopted from the shelter a few years ago. The school mascot is a tiger, too! So I stamped him with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper and colored him just like Gerald (well, at least I tried). I kind of messed up coloring the top part of the hat and the tassel so it stamped and colored again, fussy cut, then paper pieced on. I placed the "Edu-CAT-ed" sentiment slightly curved on the block then heat embossed with gold embossing powder on black cardstock, drew a little banner with white colored pencil and fussy cut it.

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Graduation Set - Naki Rager

I borrowed the "Hip, Hip, Hooray" sentiment from the Uplifting Wishes Set and heat embossed with black embossing powder on vellum and fussy cut it. I also borrowed the little confetti from the Balloon Shaker Die Set, die cut them from gold foil sheet and sprinkled them to help this celebration 🎊

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Graduation Set, Essential Alphabet Die Set - Naki Rager

My second card is super CAS, I wanted to really showcase the alphabet dies!
I figured my mother-in-law will need a graduation card to give her nephew ;-)

After die cutting the front panel, I die cut the custom sentiment out of it and popped it on the basecard with foam tape. The hat was stamped with light gray ink on white cardstock, colored with colored pencils, then die cut with the coordinating die. Gold star confetti seemed like the appropriate finishing touch to this proud graduation card ;-)
