My love

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Hello my friends, it has been a long time!
I am so busy with my twins, I have not had time for anything!

But yesterday was my husband's birthday so I made this quick card while they were napping.

This was my first time using my new goodies from the Holiday catalog and I loved them!

I used the Expressions Thinlits die on Very Vanilla, then carefully placed it with the little pieces inside the word love in the Pretty Print Embossing folder.

You can certainly change up colors and words to make a Thanksgiving/Thank you card with "Thankful", or a Christmas card with "Merry" :-)

My notes...

Stamp: Family Reunion (Retired)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Strawberry Slush
Ink: Strawberry Slush
Accessory: Strawberry Slush 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim, In-Color Boutique Details, Rhinestones Basic Jewels
Tool: Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Expressions Thinlits Dies, Owl Builder Punch, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Thank You Card

Friday, June 21, 2013

Hi there!
Here I have is a Thank You card for my friends and family who came to my baby shower last weekend:-)

So this card here is my inspiration... Yes, I cheated and bought a box of Thank you cards! I picked this design because 1) the colors for the shower were Pool Party and Calypso Coral, and this card had very similar colors, 2) I liked the simple design:-) I needed to make some because I somehow miscounted...

I was afraid of not being able to stamp the images clearly since the circles were a little bumpy, and I was right... So I tried this one by punching out the circles on Pool Party first, then nested in the calypso Coral circles. I don't think it was that much different and I didn't really like it sitting on Whisper White...

So what do you think?

My Notes...

Stamp set: Bright Blossom, Embellished Events
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Calypso Coral
Ink: Versamark
Tool: White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, 1" Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Don't forget to come back to check out my next post, I will show you the few photos from the shower:-)

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 28

Saturday, June 1, 2013

Hi there!
Welcome to another Double Dare Challenge!
Wow, it's already June... Are you excited about summer!? I am! My 3 year old just cannot wait to jump in the pool!!

Use the Artisan Label Punch/Stamp set

Use the Itty Bitty Banners

Here is my card...

Pretty simple, this took me no time to make:-)
I repeated the chevron stripes that are on the This and That DSP and embossed my base card.

As soon as I saw both picks, this design came to my head:-)
You can certainly replace "Thank you" with one of the other banners from the set:-)

It's such a simple card I thought the inside needed some attention as well. I love the bright colors from the This and That DSP!

This is an easy but fun card to make:-) You can simply change up the colors and sentiment, or even DSP to make what you need!

My notes...
Stamp set: Itty Bitty Banners
Paper: Very Vanilla, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Daffidol Delight
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessory: Daffodil Delight 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, Pool Party Sycamore Street Ribbon (SAB/Retired)
Tool: Artisan Label Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Tasteful Trims Bizs Die, Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Hope you enjoyed it!

It was not easy picking one favorite but I just love the colors on the Sent with Love DSP, so here it is:-) I am so happy that these colors are not retiring! Honestly, I wouldn't know what to do without Pool Party...!

I wish they made smaller Rhinestones...

TAWS be inspired challenge

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Hi there! I am playing a new challenge, TAWS be inspired challenge 28 by The Alley Way Stamps:-) Boy, do they have cute and whimsical stamps!
I saw this card posted on Freshly Made Sketches that used The Alley Way Stamps awhile ago and that's how I found this company.

This is the inspiration photo for this challenge, I LOVE the soft colors and ruffles!

SO that's what I tried to recreate here by using the Tasteful Trims Bigz Die with Whisper White, Blushing Bride, and the new Smokey Slate.

That cute birdie and the sentiment are free download from The Alley Way Stamps.

My notes...
Stamp set: The Alley Way Stamps Free Download
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Smokey Slate
Tool: Tasteful Trims Bigz Die, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Sympathy Card

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

This is a card I made upon my husband's request weeks ago. Sympathy cards are not my favorite thing to make (not that it's anyone's, really..), but it's part of life, right?

I stamped the tree from the Thoughts and Prayers set on the whisper white card stock, then again on the Vellum card stock so the image on the whisper white card stock looks like a shadow.

I used the Silver Mini Brads to keep the Vellum in place.
And that's it, I wanted to keep it very simple.

My notes...
Stamp set: Thoughts and Prayers
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Vellum
Ink: Basic Gray, Jet Black Stazon
Accessory: Silver Mini Brads
Tool: Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 26

Saturday, May 11, 2013

Welcome to another Double Dare Challenge!
Sorry about missing last week, I had to take a little road trip and was busier than I thought I was going to be!

Use retiring stamp sets/accessories

Stripes

I honestly didn't know what to make, then my husband asked me to make a sympathy card for one of his clients... I really don't like making one of these, but that's life, right...
The retiring item I used on this card is the Baja Breeze 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon. I am really really going to miss my Baja Breeze!

This card is really simple and takes no time to make:-) A sympathy card should be subtle, but still can be pretty and have some colors:-) I think Baja Breeze and Basic Gray worked perfectly, and the stripes added a nice touch, don't you think?

My notes...
Stamp set: Thoughts and Prayers
Paper: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Subtles Designer Series Paper Stacks
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessory: Baja Breeze 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now don't forget to visit Nina's blog, I know she's made something fabulous as usual;-)

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 25

Saturday, April 27, 2013

Hello friends! Welcome to another Double Dare Challenge!

Make a Mother's Day Card

Use This and That Washi Tape

Surprisingly, this challenge was pretty difficult for me...
Here is what I made...

Who is excited about Stampin' Up! carrying washi tape!? I AM! :-)

I was pretty psyched about using the washi tape and knew I wanted to make a bunting, but the rest did not come together easily for me...

Have you tried the new Typeset Photopolymer set yet? I am in LOVE! You can see exactly where you stamp, they cling to clear blocks so very good, and not to mention the clean font!

I love this little flower! I wish I could buy a whole bunch of them!
I layered the Basic Gray 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and the Pool Party Ribbon

When I thought I was done making this card, it needed something on top and didn't know what to add, but when I need "something", either Rhinestones or Pearls would do the job!

My notes...
Stamp set: Typeset Photopolymer, Make a Monster (Retiring)
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Sent with Love DSP
Ink: Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Versamark
Accessory: This and That Washi Tape, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, More Amore set, White Baker's Twine, Basic Gray 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Pool Party Ribbon
Tool: Heart Collection Framelits Die, Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Small Heart, Itty Bitty Shapes and Owl Builder Punches, Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Now let's check out what Nina made;-)

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 24

Saturday, April 20, 2013

Hello, hello!
Look what's back!?
My friend Nina and I both needed a break for a few weeks, but that a few weeks turned into longer than we planned... but we have our new and fresh picks for the challenge and can't wait to share with you all again! :-)

Use the retiring colors

Use the Sent with Love stamp set

Here is what I came up with...

Can I just say, I LOVE this stamp set! It's so clean, modern, and just so darn cute!
This is actually an envelope instead of a card because all these stamps are postage related, and I thought it might be fun this way:-)

The back of the envelope got some attention as well:-)
I just wanted to use as many images from this set as I could...he he;-)

I finally bought the Postage Stamp punch when I ordered this stamp set, it seemed necessary... and I am so glad I did!

My choice of the retiring colors are:Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, and Riding Hood Red. I am going to miss these blues so very much! Look how beautiful they look together!! And it's sad, but now that Riding Hood Red is retiring and I used it for this challenge with my blues, I love it!

This was a fun challenge:-)
Next week is going to be pretty exciting, too!

My notes...
Stamp set: Sent with Love (Available through Apr. 30th!)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Riding Red Hood Cardstock, Crumb Cake Envelope
Ink: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Riding Hood Red, Versamark
Accessory: Linen Thread, Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Tool: 1" Square, Postage Stamp, 1" Circle, Small Heart, Owl Builder Punches, Chevron, Adoring Accents, Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
