Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 384

Sunday, November 13, 2016

Hello lovelies!
Happy Sunday, are you ready for a new Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!?
This week's sponsor is Serendipity Stamps!

We have this elegant color combo for you this week!
Isn't this cupcake amazing!?
Here is my take...;-)

I took this opportunity to make a birthday card for my husband's 40th!

The sponsor sent us the DT members this gorgeous cupcake and candle die set, thank you so much!
I was totally inspired by the cupcake photo, so I die cut this beautiful cupcake from gold foil sheet and Night of Navy. And instead of the pretty turquoise flower in the photo, I die cut the candle from Tempting Turquoise.

I originally had the gold on top but it was making it too gaudy! So I made it more of an accent color and it was so much better! A big turquoise star was added behind to balance out the colors.

My pretty cupcake was set on this little shaker,m which is made with kraft and patterned vellum sewn together. I added royal blue, turquoise, clear sequins, and gold star confetti. It looked a bit plain on plain white base, so i die cut this triangle background from white and mounted on the base before assembling the whole card.

{my notes}

Paper: White (WPlus9), Kraft, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Gold Foil Sheet, Brights DSP Stack (SU!), Patterned Vellum (Papertrey Ink)
Accessory: Royally Blue Mix and Summer Sky Mix Sequins (Neat & Tangled), Sparkling Clear Sequins and Gold Star Confetti (Pretty Pink Posh)
Tool: Cupcake and Candle Die (Serendipity Stamps), The Big, The Bold and Party Cutaway (Winnie & Walter), Die-namics Stitched Star STAX and Triangle Screen Cover-Up (My Favorite Things), Large Numbers Framelits (SU!), Sewing Machine

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
