Hello, lovelies!
Welcome to day 2 of the Newton's Nook Designs January Release!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 18th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today we're revealing the Caffeinated Cats Set!
Let's take a look ;-)
If you're a crazy cat lady (or gentleman) who is also a caffeine addict like I am, well, this new set is a must-have for you!!! How stinkin' cute are these kitties in these mugs!?
Okay, here's what I created...;-)
Here's my first card with the new Caffeinated Cats Set, which I used the stamp as a background ;-)
These big "Full Card Front" stamps can be either background or focal point of your cards!
After stamping the image with alcohol based ink on watercolor paper, I colored it with real tea!
I just thought, why not!? But who knew it was going to take so many layers when you spill tea on your clothes and it stains!? LOL
I made a "tea bag" with vellum, heat embossed the sentiment, and before sealing the bag, I added bead seeds in many colors. (Can I call this a "shaker"!?) I popped this one kitty that was watercolored with foam tape to add a bit of color ;-)
The whole panel was die cut using the Framework Die Set and mounted on dark brown cardstock, which matched the sentiment ;-)
It looks like a lot of work to create this card but it is actually quite easy and simple ;-)
My second card has nothing but colors!
The design is, well, not much design going on {LOL}
I simply enjoyed watercoloring this adorable image and that became the focal point of this card, naturally ;-)
I didn't want to hide any part of the image so I used vellum to heat emboss the sentiment, which was die cut using the Framework Die Set (I just cannot stay away from this die set!).

ReplyDeleteLove the softness of the watercolor, and I'm impressed by the teabag card involving staining with actual tea! The color turned out wonderful for tea or coffee (I never thought to use this as a tea card until now) That (lower right) cutie kittie sets it off perfectly next to the vellum tea bag. Love your creative talent.
