Hello there Newton lovers!
Welcome to day2 of the Newton's Nook Designs September Release!
All the new sets will be available for purchase this Friday the 16th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Today we are sharing the What A Hoot stamp set along with its coordinating die set!
Are you ready for some serious cuteness!!?
I know, what a hoot!!! *giggle*
Here is my take...;-)
I don't know why but this set immediately made me think of double folds by using the branch and one of the owls to seal the card.
I folded the front, placed my stencil, and sponged with Blackberry Bliss Ink.
Those stars and the moon are a little sneak peek from another set that will be revealed on day4 ;-) They were heat embossed with Tangerine Tango.

I wanted to use fun, Halloween colors on this adorable owl!
I tried a few times coloring her with the Spectrum Noir markers but man, it bled and bled! Apparently I'm not skilled enough yet...:-( So I decided to paper piece this cutie and I LOVE it!!! Isn't she just so funky and cute with all the patterns and colors!?
Here is a quick look at the inside;-)
I love that the sentiments that come with this set don't limit you to just Halloween!
This card actually would be perfect for my little sis' birthday in October!
So the front panels overlap about 1/4".
The branch, which was die cut from the Core'dinations cardstock then sanded a little, is adhered on the left side, and my cute owl was popped on the right side with some foam tape. I just had to stamp the little Hoot.Hoot there too...;-)

Oh, this is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! I love the paper piercing and the layout! Sorry you had trouble with coloring. Maybe it was the paper you were using? I don't use spectrum noir but with copics you have to use pretty thick paper like Neenah solar white.

Absolutely fantatic. Very impressive how you used pattern paper to make the owl and I really like the big purple moon the owl is sitting in :)
