Hello there, lovelies!
Welcome back to day 2 of the Newton's Nook Designs April Release!
Today we are revealing this lovely new set " Lovely Blooms" along with the coordinating die set ;-) All the new goodies will be available for purchase this Friday the 14th over at the Newton's Nook Designs Shop!
Are you feeling the spring air!?
This set is absolutely stunning, and oh how versatile!
This set immediately reminded of my mother-in-law, who loves hydrangea, and her name is Rose! (So perfect for her, isn't it!?)
Alright, here is my card...;-)
So naturally, I was thinking about my lovely mother-in-law.
She's made cards with me several times and she somewhat enjoyed it. She is just not into any type of craft, but did tell me which colors she likes out of the cardstock I own.
So I colored the hydrangea with her favorite purples. It was stamped with antique linen distressed ink on watercolor, colored in with the SU reinkers, then die cut with the coordinating die. The mason jar was heat embossed with Pool Party on vellum, leaves were also heat embossed with Gumball Green on vellum, and all were die cut with the coordinating dies. I also die cut 2 more leaves from the green and white polka dots paper. You can see the polka dots through the vellum, isn't it fun!? I love vellum...{giggle}
As many women are, my mother-in-law is a lot of things. She is her parent' precious daughter, has a sister, many friends, then a mother of 2 boys, now her favorite, grandmother to my 4 beautiful kids. So I thought it was just perfect and appropriate to have all these "titles" that represent who she is. I stamped the mason jar and hydrangea with antique linen distressed ink where I wanted them on the panel, then water colored the whole panel with Blushing Bride. While at it, I filled up the jar with some water as well ;-) Then the sentiments were heat embossed with white, the flowers were placed, then I adhered the die cut sentiment, which is coated with clear emboss powder to add some gloss, on the bottom. The right side of the card needed a bit more color so I water colored that single flower and popped it on with a glue dot. Of course, I had to sprinkle some clear sequins ;-) Little pieces of washi tape was placed to add some more colors also.
