Newton's Nook Designs April Release Day 1

Monday, April 16, 2018

Hello, lovelies!
Today kicks off the Newton's Nook Designs April Release, woo hoo!
All the new products will be available for purchase this Friday the 20th in the Newton's Nook Designs Shop
On day 1, we're revealing this adorable stamp set called "Newton's Graduation" along with the coordinating die set, PLUS the Essential Alphabet Die Set 💛

Isn't Newton the most adorable grad you've ever seen!!?
I LOVE the sentiments in this set, too 💙

I am so very very excited about this alphabet die set!
They are about 1" tall and just perfect to create your own fun sentiments!

Alright, here are my cards 😉

Newton's Nook Designs Newton's Graduation Set - Naki Rager

When my hubby graduated from college, his little cousin was only 6 years old and now, he is graduating from the same college this year! That boy ages me more than anything! {LOL} I am so proud of him, he's such a hard worker! So this dramatic, celebratory sunburst seemed perfect for this card ;-)

They have this adorable and rambunctious orange tiger cat, Gerald, that they adopted from the shelter a few years ago. The school mascot is a tiger, too! So I stamped him with Antique Linen Distress Ink on watercolor paper and colored him just like Gerald (well, at least I tried). I kind of messed up coloring the top part of the hat and the tassel so it stamped and colored again, fussy cut, then paper pieced on. I placed the "Edu-CAT-ed" sentiment slightly curved on the block then heat embossed with gold embossing powder on black cardstock, drew a little banner with white colored pencil and fussy cut it.

I borrowed the "Hip, Hip, Hooray" sentiment from the Uplifting Wishes Set and heat embossed with black embossing powder on vellum and fussy cut it. I also borrowed the little confetti from the Balloon Shaker Die Set, die cut them from gold foil sheet and sprinkled them to help this celebration 🎊

My second card is super CAS, I wanted to really showcase the alphabet dies!
I figured my mother-in-law will need a graduation card to give her nephew ;-)

After die cutting the front panel, I die cut the custom sentiment out of it and popped it on the basecard with foam tape. The hat was stamped with light gray ink on white cardstock, colored with colored pencils, then die cut with the coordinating die. Gold star confetti seemed like the appropriate finishing touch to this proud graduation card ;-)

  21. I totally adore this card with Newton! You're right; the sunburst behind him is perfect but because of the color matching as well as the design. I tend to like to color Newton in paler colors, so the tip on the antique linen will help me. I love his cap and tassle, so whatever you hid, you did it well!
