Watercolor Blog Hop

Monday, June 8, 2015

Hello there!
Hope your Monday has been great!
I like to schedule my blog post to be published in the morning, but Watercolor Blog Hop hosted by Pretty Pink Posh is closing tonight, and I did not have time to craft at all this past weekend! My husband and I were moving stuff from the garage to our brand new shed, and as we were going through our stuff, we were trying to get ready for this weekend's huge neighborhood garage sale also! Isn't it amazing how so much stuff accumulates over years!?

Fabulous blog hop sponsored by fabulous companies!
I really want to win some prize but I am not lucky like that, I have only won 2 things in my 30+ years of life... but if I don't play, I'd never win, right!?
So here it goes!

I apologize about the dark background...
This card was altered from the original design I had in my head because I saw a very similar card already entered. I still used the stamp set and the die I was going to use though.

I wanted no-outline images.
I brushed some water on the watercolor paper with a clean fat paint brush, then stamped a balloon in Hello Honey first. Then quickly started to color the inside with a small paint brush with just water to make the outline disappear. After drying it a little, I added more color inside using my clear block, I just rubbed the block on the ink pad and got some ink. I repeated the process 2 more times in Lost Lagoon and Tangelo Tango. I punched an 1" circle and masked the Hello Honey balloon.

The same technique was used to add some string images. This time, I masked the Lost Lagoon balloon. Then I stamped the little cloud twice in Soft Sky, and just added some water inside.
I made tiny bows with the silver thread I found in my sewing kit that my grandmother-in-law gave me along with her heavy-duty sewing machine! That teeny tag is from Waffle Flower's A Bunch Stamp set, it was the perfect size!

Isn't this sentiment just lovely!? I love it!!
I die cut it with the silver Foil Sheet to match the silver thread.

My notes...

Stamp: Look Up (Avery Elle), A bunch (Waffle Flower)
Paper: Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake, Silver Foil Sheet, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Tango, Crumb Cake, Soft Sky Stampin' Ink Pads, Basic Gray Stampin' Marker, Water
Accessory: Silver Thread
Tool: Happy Birthday Border Lawn Cut (Lawn Fawn)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
