What a perfect theme for today!
Here is my take...;-)
I wanted to use the only set from Poppy Stamps I own, which is the Falling For You set. It is a fall/thanksgiving themed set but who says you can't use this adorable critter for mother's day!? or any other occasions for that matter ;-)
I stamped this cutie with Antique Linen Distressed Ink on watercolor paper, colored him with light brown and dark brown Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and the Antique Linen Distressed Ink. Also used the pale pink Zig Clean Color Real Brush marker for his blushed cheek ;-) I die cut him with the coordinating die ;-) I'm too lazy to fussy cut so dies are a MUST! {LOL}
The background was sponged with Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding, splattered some water for a distressed look, and drew a little bit of grass where my cutie is standing. I watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with the Strawberry Slash ink, splattered some water, then die cut them with the heart dies from the XOXO Die set by Papertrey Ink. I heat embossed "love you" on the big heart, "mama" from the Simply Relative set by Newton's Nook Designs on vellum and trimmed it to a tiny banner and popped it on the heart. Several 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were sprinkled, and the gold dot washi tape was placed on the base.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Have a lovely Mother's Day!!!
Naki,
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Your soft watercoloring looks spectacular! Love how you multi-purposed an autumn stamp set for a Mother's Day theme. Great way to stretch your stamps! As always, it a pleasure to see your amazing creativity!
